  1. Forget the critics. A fair number of them would have promoted Daboll.
  2. I would have added him to my list but I'm not sure he plays today. If he does I'm hoping for big things from him.
  3. First game with live reps. What position battle or player are you most focusing on today? For me, on defense, I want to see how our pass rushers look. Let's see Landon Jackson show up. He's had a quiet camp. Maybe he's just a fella that plays better on game day. On offense, I want to see if Ray Davis made some steps in the off season. And the WR battle is always a good one to watch. How about you?
  4. You can't fool me. I know Baker Mayfield when I see him....
  5. If I'm reading it right the Bills would take a bigger dead cap hit ($5.97M) then they would save in cap savings ($4.67M) if the cut him. So, yes...unless Bass is far more injured then they let on he will be the kicker this year. Maybe Davis gets a PS invite or goes on the tryout circuit for the other 31 teams if he does well.
  6. There is an I in both: -Win -Championship (two, in fact) Football may be a team sport but sometimes it takes that 1 player to move the needle from pretender to contender. Look at the impact Barkley made with the Eagles.
  7. I always find statements like this hilarious when this topic comes up. And not trying to single you in particular out because there are many like it in this thread. Ok. You give him this season....then what? You're gonna call WGR? Make a strongly worded post here on TBD? Try and get a billboard erected? Facts is, none of us have any control or say so. From everything I have seen and heard McDermott is the Bills HC until McDermott decides to step away. Terry thinks the world of him. This organization is literally built around the philosophy that it's better to be stable and consistent and have a shot at the end of the year than catch lightning in a bottle once and be bad to mediocre the rest of the time. McDermott provides exactly what the organization wants.
  8. And he was an abysmal kicker last year. Definitely did not have a happy ending. He looks like the friend of the popular bad guy in some 80s teen skiing movie.
  9. They did. His name is Bobby Babich. Bills still lost by 3. Aside from 2 seasons ago when he was HC/DC and a few rare instances where he took over play calling from Frasier during a game McD hasn't been the one calling the defense.
  10. For me it's the Jets and it's largely because of their fan base. I love when we shut their loud mouths up.
  11. This dude gets hurt so much that Beane is preparing a trade offer as we speak😂😂
  12. I would have absolutely LOVED Diggs to sign with Miami just to make this idiot stutter and stammer even more. He's such a weak leader and his team shows it.
  13. BBMB favorite Eli Apple heads to Cancun a bit early this year
  14. From what I've heard and seen both of them this TC have new injuries...nothing held over from last year. But yes, 12 weeks to get his knee less wear and tear would likely have helped Kincaid. 12 weeks of not running and cutting would likely have helped Samuels turf toe last year. Neither injury has anything to do with this years injuries from what I'm told
  15. No. But you do need that big legged kicker for long FG attempts
  16. No worries. I agree, when healthy Samuels is clearly an more complete player. A better player. But the best ability is availability...which is where Curtis is a liability. IMO, they should have had him and Kincaid on IR a good chunk of last year to heal up better from their nagging injuries rather than trot them out every week.
  17. No. I am just showing he has a burst as well. You're reading wayyyyyyyy too much into a simple post. Sheesh.
  18. Shavers has some juice....
  19. Well, we had Matt Barkley at punter one preseason game. Maybe we bring him back.
  20. His agent works for him. Not the other way around. His agent may advise him...but Cook has free will to listen or tell him "Hey, get the deal done or I'll find someone who will" Agents always get scapegoated as the villain in the process. But Cook is a grown man who can make his own decisions. This is on him..
  21. Agreed. I'm getting older so maybe my memory fails me a bit. But IIRC Shavers looked good in camp last year and it didn't translate well to the preseason games. If he can show out even a bit this year in the games I think it gets harder to slip him to PS. If he makes a bunch of plays on offense this preseason then it gets far more likely. Daboll is always sniffing around our leftovers.
  22. Kelvin Benjamin had a HUGE impact on the Chiefs and Giants buffet lines in the cafeteria. Oh wait. He was cut not a FA. Disregard.
  23. A couple years back, Beans showed he isn't afraid to cut a recent signee with a chunk of guaranteed bucks to keep the better player rostered. Ask OJ Howard and the $3M he had guaranteed how that worked out.
  24. Fetes did us dirty there. Capitalize WILL but not NOT. I've been about 90% sure Shavers was making this team since early in the off season. Nothing I've seen or heard has swayed me from that. In fact it probably increased my view. I don't know if Buffalo keeps 6 WRs, but with all the early injuries in camp to the position it wouldn't shock me. Maybe they go lighter in the secondary. I see Samuel or Moore as possible game day inactives (or in Samuels case an injury related inactive). Shavers adds much more on STs. Sort of like a Jake Kumerow.
