I suspect him to make a few visits. Teams are gonna want to check his knee in person.

I'm good with getting the Bengals early in the season. They typically stumble out of the gate.

What’s the deal with Winston and Cousins?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Cousins has a pretty high price tag and showed serious regression before being benched last year. Winston is a Wild Card type player. He can have really good games but then the next week looks like he's never seen a football before. Way too inconsistent. The Saints just drafted a guy in round 2. I'm sure they hope he can start. The Steelers actually don't mind rolling with Mason Rudolph as he is well liked in the locker room, well respected by the coaching staff and did play some same good ball for them late in the year 2 seasons ago. -
No promises that Arch is even declaring for the draft next year. In the past, top prospects would come out early for the payday. Now with the NIL money a guy like Manning would likely make less coming out than if he comes out early. It will be a situation to watch for sure.

Stadium Construction Discussion (No PSL/Seat selection posts)
BuffaloBillyG replied to JÂy RÛßeÒ's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not to mention having to let people scoot past as they walk back and forth up and down the aisle to go on a run for more beer, snacks or bathroom. I swear some people spend 80% of the game either in or heading back and forth to/from the concourse. Just sit down and watch the game. Then you got traffic after the game and drunken idiots all around. I'm happier at home relaxing. -

I'd say he has about the same odds to make the team as Mr. Rogers.

I got a really good feeling about this kid. I don't think it's too long until he's the CB1 and Benford is back at CB2.

Malaki Starks wants to pick off Josh Allen most
BuffaloBillyG replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't even have to go that far back. Just a couple seasons ago when we were set to host KC in the playoffs Dawkins made some statements about the Chiefs never having to have to win on the road in the playoffs let alone in the BILLS HOUSE. Immediately after the game sever of the Chiefs quoted those statements in the post game interviews and locker speeches. They took it personally. They used it as motivation. -
I didn't before but your words have convinced me .

Elijah Moore Visiting the Bills today (Update: Signed!)
BuffaloBillyG replied to bills742's topic in The Stadium Wall
Stats without context really fail to show the whole story. While Herbert did, in fact throw for more yards than Allen last year, (a whopping 139 more yards to be exact) let's not forget that Allen basically sat out the entire game the final week against New England, was taken out of several games early due to the score (about another full game give or take in total) and that the Chargers were often throwing later in games due to being behind. This also accounts for the Bills running for about 400 more yards as they were in game wind down mode later in games way more than LA. Not to mention Allen is far more mobile and a threat to run. That will almost always result in higher rushing totals for a team. -

Thought Exercise: Best Bills QB (99-2017) who'd be JA17 backup
BuffaloBillyG replied to boyst's topic in The Stadium Wall
Brian Brohm was never given a fair chance. That said, I may just go with Alex Van Pelt. Reason being, the back ups main job is to help the starter prepare. And Van Pelt, while never a good QB, has spent years in the NFL as a coach and multiple years as an OC. So if I'm choosing someone to be in the QB room with the current iron horse of NFL QBs I'd take the guy most qualified to help a QB game plan. Break down film. That sort of thing. -
Failed physical. Maybe some setbacks?

It is a good thing. Absolutely. But am I ready to pay him $15M a season for one year of that? No. Let's see if that was an exception or a baseline before shelling out top dollars is all I'm saying. Not discounting TDs at all. But how many of those were because Cook is elite and how many of those could have been punched in by Johnson/Davis and can be in the future at a much cheaper price is the question. I think having him prove it this season is the smart move. The absolute worst thing that Beane could do here is cave, pay him top end money and see his TDs sharply decline while his fumble and dropping passes problems come back up. Remember, it wasn't that long ago he was riding pine due to these issues. I'd like to think he turned the corner. If he shows it this year, cool. Pay the dude. He had an EXCEPTIONAL season last year. And if he put in the work and solved his past issues along with becoming a TD machine he will have another one this year. And he will get paid.
-
Many of those TDs came close to the goal line as well. Scores that Allen would typically have run in himself. Cook benefitted to some extent from Allen having a broken hand week 1 and the Bills running down close with Cook to prevent Josh from further injury to his hand IMO. I don't see Cook coming anywhere close to duplicating his TD total from last year
-
Honestly, It boils down to what Josh wants. If he wants to bring him back he will talk Beane into it as Beane likely doesn't need too much convincing. Brandon LOVES him some Gabe Davis.
-
It was a massive overpay by Baalke and the Jags to start with. He had a lack of productivity when he did play. Never seemed to get on the same page as Lawrence (sound familiar?) and then had the injury. Then they bring in a new HC/GM that want to clear the bad contract being paid to what would be at best their WR3 with Hunter and Thomas leading the target share. I don't think he did anything wrong other than being overpaid and no longer needed.
-
He would be likely WR5 in KC. They don't need WR help. Houston and NE addressed the WR position well in the draft. Don't see that. Pittsburgh did just create an opening so that may be. I wouldn't rule out places like Vegas or Atlanta. Miami likes collecting players whose name exceeds their talent too
-
I called this during the draft. The writing was on the wall with a new HC/GM and making the big move for Hunter. The Bills absolutely loved his work ethic and reportedly wanted him back. He should have a pretty soft market coming off another down year before the injury. All that said....hard pass. Which would likely deflect off Davis's fingers and be intercepted.

Who’s your defensive surprise of the year?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Billsfed1's topic in The Stadium Wall
Joey Bosa. There is a lot of clowning on the signing here but it is an excellent gamble. Bosa is signed to a 1 year deal. He has this year to show Buffalo (and the rest of the league) that he still can be "that guy". You don't do that in the trainers room. He will play through what would have sidelined him in the past as he's chasing one final big contract. Be it here in Buffalo or someplace else while we end up with a nice comp pick. He's also a fiery and emotional type player that has played the majority of his home games in LA, where almost weekly fans of the opposing team out numbered Charger fans. He is going to thrive here in Buffalo with our fans bringing the noise. Dude is going to be pumped every play. Also, I think they limit his snap count a bit with the rotation, especially after the first 6 games. Just a slight number nothing crazy. He will still see more than half the snaps IMO. But enough to keep him fresh and healthy. I expect a 10-12 sack season from him with games where he is an absolute monster. -
I love it when a player I can't stand goes to a team I can't stand.

The Battle for Jobs at Safety and Corner.
BuffaloBillyG replied to GASabresIUFan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Bishop isn't slow when running in a straight line. He's average. However, it takes him a bit longer to process and react, and it has a noticeable affect on his play speed. He plays much slower than he should. It's almost like he doesn't trust what he's seeing so he doesn't fully commit until it's too late. That may improve with experience. I'm with you here. I thought Hardy looked the part at CB in the preseason. Vastly better than Codrigton did. If he has taken steps at returning kicks/punts he will likely make the 53 and have a jersey on game day IMO. They kept him around for a reason.
