  1. I agree and would love to keep Babich. It feels like Washington is "next in line" as DC. Has the Assistant HC title and handled the weekly press conference for defense. But it may be better for Babich to go work for the Offensive minded HC. Any success he gets here would be credited to McDermott.
  2. Would HATE to lose him. Hopefully, he's retained here. May need to promote him to do it.
  3. Funny. But I'll hold out until after I see what they do in FA first before being convinced they HAVE to go WR in round 1. If they can somehow land a good one there, the class is deep enough to get a good one on day 2.
  4. Agree, but there are a few every year that are hired and not HC material. And it would do us a big favor lol
  5. Can someone hire Spags as a HC, already? Get him the heck out of our playoff path.
  6. A little early for me to be too opinionated about the draft. But I'm hoping if we go WR early we get a guy with some speed. Not sure I want another guy that can work the middle. That's where I expect Kincaid to work. The DT makes some sense if the Bills don't re-sign Jones. But I don't want defense in round 1.
  7. I would argue that Harty is below JAG level. But I do agree that Shakir is best suited for the slot. Gotta have your aces in their places. I would HATE to see them suddenly expect him to jump from where he is now to the #2 role. They made that mistake with Davis IMO. Hopefully they learned from it.
  8. The old double standard. When the Bills beat the Chiefs and Mahomes whined and cried to Allen on the field a lot of the talk was "be professional" "When someone shows you who they are, believe them" and "Gee, guess anyone can be a leader when you're winning" type statements. But, because Diggs runs and hides it's "Well, it's ok if he acts like that" Here's the thing. This isn't the first time he's don't the run and hide when things go sideways. Last year he tried to run out of the whole damn stadium before the coaches even got to the locker room. He blew up at Allen on the sidelines last year. Did his post season media tour and threw shade on the Bills and Allen. (Odd he could be interviewed then, but not by local media). Was away from the team all off season. Sat out the first day. Wanted all the accountability. And then can't bother to say a few words or answer a few questions. Which he is actually contractually obligated to do, by the way. Accountability for thee, not for me. Meanwhile, Allen is up there taking questions. Poyer. Hyde. You know, actual leaders taking on an actual leadership role. I'm sure in a couple weeks he will poke his head out on Twitter with some cryptic tweet.
  9. So, team has a young QB and goes out and gets an offensive minded HC. Good step in the right direction.
  10. Gabe's possible last impression as a member of the Buffalo Bills....
  11. Yes, but the injury excuse may not be it. Here's the truth. It's divisional week of the playoffs. Everyone is injured. He's looked healthy on the field getting in and out of his breaks. His head coach even said a few weeks back that what's happening with him isn't medical and there's no medical issue. You're right though. Something has been off....
  12. Hate is a strong word. Not saying it's entirely the incorrect word. But strong nonetheless.
  13. What I found most telling is during the interview where he said that during the season there wasn't any talk of an extension. That's a solid sign the Bills were ok moving on. I do hope he gets his payday. Good for him and hey, good for the Bills. Maybe a 5th round comp pick? I can see the Giants being all over him with a nice contract offer.
  14. Here's my logic. I'd root for the Ravens because I don't want Mahomes to have the chance to win another Super Bowl and hear all off season how he's the greatest NFL player that ever lived. Buuuut...I also don't want Lamar to make a Super Bowl before Josh. So...go Chiefs. In the NFC, I would love for the Lions fans to get a Super Bowl. They deserve it. Buuuut....I also don't want to see yet another franchise win their first one before Buffalo doesn't. The list is thinning out. So...go 49ers. In the Super Bowl...I'll go 49ers simply because I want a team that is paying a RB a huge contract to win it all just to piss everyone off.
  15. I come from the future. This is a breakdown of what he says. - Don't see us making any splash signings in FA - Up tight against the cap - We wish we could bring back and pay everybody - Gabe Davis has earned the right to test FA. Would love to have him back. - Got 10 picks. Don't see us moving up in the draft. Need those lower contracts because it's hard when you pay a QB - Full faith in McDermott and the Bills ability to stay competitive next year. - I anticipate Diggs/Miller/White/Morse being back - Draft, develop and re-sign is how we intend to continue.
  16. Here's the thing. Many of us aren't happy or optimistic he will be back. We are just dealing in the reality that he WILL be back and there's really not anything we can do that changes that. It's almost like some believe we get to like, take a vote or something.
  17. Difference here is McDermott already has had his "Mahomes" for years and hasn't gotten the "results". He's a good coach. A good guy. There is definitely a place in the NFL for him as a HC. He's just not the guy to get you there. It's ok to appreciate the job he's done and appreciate how far he's taken this franchise and admit that he's likely gone as far as he is ever going to go with this franchise. It's just time for a fresh set of eyes and a fresh line of thinking with this team.
  18. I'm not saying top 10. Even getting to the 15-18 range could happen.
  19. They don't. That's my hope. They need to use some of those 10 picks they have gathered up to move WAYYY up the board for a WR...or use that 1st to trade for an impact player.
  20. I would argue it's the other way around. His vibe has been completely different this year. Even coming into the season he seemed less engaged than years past. Then the Maddy Glab incident happens where Stef was in his feelings about that. Then he got a ton of questions about his brothers tweets that he pushes back on. I seriously think he's at a spot where, despite liking his teammates he just wants out of this team/market. I don't say he's toxic in the locker room. It's the opposite...he's loved there. But the dude is emotionally soft. The "Diggs is a competitive player" narrative died this year. He went through the motions. Drops, fumbles...but hey his dances at practice were always 🔥🔥🔥
  21. The WR formerly known as "HIM" came up small yet again in the second half of the season and into the playoffs. A year after the sideline blow up at Allen, he drops a HUGE opportunity on a near perfect pass and looks back to his QB with the "inches away" sign in a crucial moment. Didn't seem upset at all. Actually, in retrospect, really didn't see too much of that "firey competitive" Diggs that much all year. At times looked to be going through the motions. Then after the game does the most Stef thing imaginable...and declines to speak to the media. That's a team captain right there. Meanwhile a guy like Bass stood at his locker and answered for his mistake.
  22. I disagree. I actually think the offense had a nice flow the last 2 weeks without him. His other worldly ability to block in the run game wasn't a glaring downgrade and it's almost hysterically ironic that you say that Mr. Drops-a-lot would have made those catches.
  23. Do I think the Bills should move on from McDermott? Yes I do. Do I have (what I consider to be) valid reasoning behind it? Absolutely. Barring Sean walking away will there be a HC change? Absolutely not. We can all spin our tires in the mud but it doesn't change anything. Right now Pegula seems content with having the (at best) second best team in the AFC. And that's providing you don't believe that Baltimore or Cincinnati with a healthy Burrow hasn't passed us by. We went from a 17 year playoff drought to now a 5 year stretch where we are good in the season and mediocre come playoff time when it counts.
