  1. My opinions on Brady (and Belichick for that matter) changed a while back. Used to really dislike them both, but really looking back at it, I'm more pissed off that they had the division uncontested for almost 2 decades. I'm more upset at the Bills for failing to build anything competitive over that time frame and hiring guys like Chan, Dick Jauron and Marrone. Drafting guys like JP and EJ.
  2. Honestly, compared to the rest of his family the wife may be a gem. She's just more annoying then criminal. That we are aware of, anyway 😂
  3. Key words there are "appears to be". Not for nothing, but his family is trash. The whole lot of em. Very rare for trash to raise treasure. Right now Mahomes Jr. has about $500 Million reasons to walk the line. I'm sure he has a top of the line public relations team.
  4. Listened to the presser. A couple take a ways... - Unsurprisingly, didn't say much about what happened in Buffalo. Just left it a the coach decided to make a change and he's turned the page. - He and Stefanski are "working through who calls the plays still" but Dorsey says winning is more important to him than who calls plays. - Says he's excited to get Watson to bounce back to a top level QB in the league. Refers to him as a "fine person".
  5. Maybe we can get William Fichtner or Christine Baranski to cover some old school Metallica.
  6. I agree. Maybe we should switch it to Sweet Caroline.
  7. I don't watch a lot of college ball so I am not familiar with either name. I usually wait until around this time of year to start looking at guys. Watch the combine and any televised pro days. I find for myself not watching college allows me to see prospects with a bit more neutral eye rather than base my opinion off what they did at that level. But I'll definitely be marking those names down as ones to check out. Thanks for the suggestions.
  8. I can't understand what the infatuation is with Ty Johnson. He's just a guy. 4.4 ypc. A whopping 132 rushing yards on the season...of which 54 came against the Cowboys in a game they refused to stop the run. Granted he's probably able to be resigned on the cheap. But he's mediocre. He does nothing to move the needle on offense. I look at it like this. If we were facing a team that had Ty Johnson starting or seeing significant snaps...are we nervous? No. Sign him cheap, let him compete for the RB 4 role? I'm down. Bringing him back as RB 2 would be a huge mistake. RB is a sneaky need for this team in FA and the draft. SPOTRAC has Henry's market value at $4.3M. If he could be had at that price I'm kicking the tires. 2 other guys I'm looking at are A.J. Dillion and Zach Moss...both with market values in the same neighborhood. Clyde Edwards-Helaire could also be a sneaky option. His market value is listed at a mere $1.6M. Joe Brady was on the LSU staff with him. And Brandon Beane has a history of grabbing players that perform well against the Bills. CEH dominated the Bills for 161 yards in the COVID year game in Orchard Park as well as having 2 key runs in the playoffs this year. I think he may be the Damien Harris replacement.
  9. So far this off season we have seen Diggs is unhappy speculation and Josh's romantic endeavors speculated. I saw this show last year.
  10. Carl Weathers may be gone. But his voice shall live on everytime I read a post from @HappyDays. I'm certain I'm not the only one that reads his posts in the voice of Chubbs.
  11. I'm well aware of Brady's history. At some point most hires are "outside" hires. As you said, he had 2 years in Buffalo. Makes it an internal hire. And again, nothing wrong with hiring internally. Especially when the program has been successful. You fill the pipeline from outside, teach them your ways, promote and refill the pipeline. It's understandable. My only contention is that they don't seem to take advantage of the opening to interview anyone other than the 2 mandatory minority candidates. Good chance to network and get a feel for some of the young up and commers in person. It's a missed opportunity IMO.
  12. I hope he holds out for a FULLY guaranteed contract. All jokes aside, he's a good kid and hope he gets paid. From a team standpoint they should offer him Daniel Jones money and hope he bites.
  13. So was Frazier hired as a HC? No? Well, there's the answer. Great hire by the Seahawks. Getting a sound voice in the room with HC experience is a huge "get" for a rookie HC. Leslie is well liked and well respected by players. And contrary to how he's portrayed here he in an excellent coach, especially in gameplan ing and teaching.
  14. Very well could. The Bills do have a few guys that they could give the job to on staff, though. - Marc Lubick Asst. WR Coach. Spent 2017 as Buffalo's assistant QB coach. - Kyle Shurmur. Started working with defense last year. Switched to offense QC this year. Former QB. Maybe he's the Assistant QB coach next year? -DJ Mangas. None of them would shock me at all, either. My guess may be Mangas QB coach, Shurmur assistant QB coach.
  15. I absolutely agree with your other points. It can certainly be an unnecessary risk. And I'm sure where it comes to timelines and if Brady/Babich were offered a position on another team McDermott would know better than us. Making the divisional round means we are at minimum 2 weeks behind replacing a coordinator as some teams were able to start on Black Monday.
  16. Stone and Curl (Along with Kyle Dugger) have been my top options for vet replacements. But I think that's just me dreaming big. What we most likely end up with IMO is Rapp back on a 2 year deal, draft a day 2 rookie and possibly keep Poyer for this last year.
  17. Or, conversely you could get a Monken that (deserved or not) helped get Lamar an almost certain MVP. My personal problem isn't that they promote from within for the coordinator position. It's that when they have the opportunity to expand they take a hard pass. They aren't even open to the idea that there may be someone even better suited to help the team achieve the goal of a Super Bowl. Now, granted they may interview more candidates than are announced. And we don't know who was offered and declined. However it would be unusual for someone that interviews not to have their agent drop that nugget to a Schefty or Ian Rap. But the announced interview process of "internal, minority, minority...hire internal" for coordinator positions is a bit transparent. That said, I like the Babich hire. I don't mind the Brady hire. Both make sense. I like the youth movement. Even promoting West is a good step in getting younger on the coaching staff. But not taking the opportunity to sit down with some coaches from the outside seems like a missed opportunity.
  18. I mean, I'm just making a joke because it is, in fact Groundhog Day. Yes, the Bills bring in people from outside. Often times into assistant roles (West and Holcomb are examples) and give them a year or two to acclimate to the "Buffalo Way". Fill the pipeline, promote from within. It's great for continuity as long as the process is worth continuing. The last 4 coordinator hires (Dorsey, Smiley, Brady and Babich) and well as many of the position coach hires, however have all been internal.
  19. Jim Harbaugh John Harbaugh John Cougar Mellencamp Jimmy John's Tommy John..... Doesn't matter. Chargers will always find a way to Charger.
  20. Welcome to Buffalo. Where the best man for the job is always already here.
  21. Going strictly off Spotrac's projection Wilkins is projected at a 4 year $80M contract. Now they aren't gospel, of course but they get near the ballpark quite a bit. So, no Wilkins is not a likely option.
  22. Keeping in mind it takes 2 sides to make a deal I'll rule out the following from returning: - Poona Ford - Sounded really unhappy to be here due to his usage. I don't think he's open to return. - Linval Joseph - Doesn't seem wanting to sign early and go through camp or early season games. A mercenary for hire at this stage. - Jordan Phillips - Openly considering retirement. - Leonard Floyd - Open to come back but following money. That's not something we have in abundance. Likey back- - Von Miller - Contract is almost immovable at this point. Just gotta hope the flashes we saw VERY late in the playoffs carry over. Of course a suspension that removes a chunk of his contract changes everything. - DaQuan Jones - I think his injury saves the Bills some money here. I don't think he sees what he may have otherwise on the open market and returns - Tim Settle - I think they like him and he knows the system. Shouldn't command much. Leaves AJE and Lawson. Lawson should be inexpensive and could be back. AJE could see a nice payday elsewhere.
  23. You can also tell how highly Beane thinks of him when he's discussed Bates in the past. He's used the term "Steady Eddie" to describe him and these types of players are invaluable to a franchise. I think Bates on the whole is about the definition nof "league average". However, with the way OL play looks around the NFL (especially IOL) there is no doubt in my mind that Bates could start for a good number of teams. We are fortunate to have him.
  24. Who exactly is "we all"? Look, I'm growing increasingly tired of the antics he's had at the end of the season for the last 2 years. But it's more a "grin and bear it" situation. - His cap and dead cap make it extremely EXTREMELY unlikely he's cut/traded - We don't have a replacement on the roster. And you can't just "go get a guy" like Higgins or Evans while at the same time taking the dead cap hit - Skill wise could he be in decline? Sure. But he's still a popular member of the locker room that showed week in and week out a lot of leadership on the sidelines. And oh by the way is still the best WR we have rostered BY A WIDE MARGIN. - He has more value to the Bills then any other team. For what it would take to logically move on from him it's doubtful that a team will part with what it takes. And what would that be? A high end day 2 pick? Plus a likely new contract? No one is giving that up for a guy faded down the stretch at his age. You're looking at a likely DHop situation. - Where is the rumor of him "not being super happy"? Post a link. Don't talk out of your ass. He's publicly said otherwise. Repeatedly. Like to the point where his main source of unhappiness may just stem from having to answer the question over and over and over and over.
  25. I'm more interested as to which of their FAs they sign. Would LOVE Kyle Dugger to end up on the market and signed by Buffalo.
