The Worthy Trade Keeps Looking Worse and Worse
BuffaloBillyG replied to Bills Costa Rica's topic in The Stadium Wall
Damn. He went full Von Miller. Maybe we aren't the fan base that gets to find glee in this one. Collectively, we may wanna sit this one out.... -
Geno Smith to Las Vegas for a 3rd Round Pick

The FULL Favre? All that would be left is the 🍆 selfie and theft of public money. Neither I would put past Rodgers either... -

Milano, Von and Samuel are 3 IMO to watch for possible pay cuts. While it's true post June 1st cuts don't help immediately, they do allow you to not have to hold money for your draft picks and 2 and wave of free agency. So you can spend more of what you do have and worry about the rest with post June 1st money. A little robbing Peter to pay Paul action.

Geno Smith to Las Vegas for a 3rd Round Pick
BuffaloBillyG replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh I fully agree. But in the right system, with the right coaching and a year or two working on his passing....he's got the athletic profile you want. Kid COULD develop into a star. He could also (and my bet) be Anthony Richardson 2.0. -
Geno Smith to Las Vegas for a 3rd Round Pick
BuffaloBillyG replied to SCBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
What may make this make sense to me is if they go with a weapon on offense at 6. Try and sneak up in back of round 1 for Milroe. Let him sit and develop for a year or two behind Geno. Not that I think Milroe is going to be great in the NFL, but he may have a shot if he's got basically a red shirt year this year. Pete hid Wilson for years. I could see it -

Raiders...what are you doing?!?!? A 3rd for Geno with nothing but a TE to throw to is crazy.... -
Able to play, yes. But not as good as in zone IMO. The number that would make sense for a contract for him on a primary man team isn't as high to make it worthwhile IMO.

Harold Landry given permission to seek trade
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloRebound's topic in The Stadium Wall
Good guess. Shane Bowen was his DC for 3 years as well. He's now the DC for the Giants which would put them possibly in play as well -
Should Beane extend McGovern now?
BuffaloBillyG replied to ColoradoBills's topic in The Stadium Wall
I would. Best case sce, SVPG works out and they can slide McGovern back to LG. Worst case they have the C position covered moving forward. His position flexibility makes him a value. Thinking out even further before long it will be Torrence coming due. I have been HUGE Torrence guy since before he was drafted...but has he done enough to earn a second contract with Buffalo? He's been inconsistent. Shown flashes. But it would be nice to have McGovern in house if they decide to let him walk. Would give the Bills a lot more flexibility on who gets resigned moving forward. -
Commanders DT Johnathan Allen Released.

Was a partially torn pectoral muscle and he came back for the playoffs in excellent fashion. Looked like he's at full health. -
Commanders DT Johnathan Allen Released.
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
FWIW: Allen came back for the playoffs and recorded 10 pressures and 8 QB hurries with one sack in the playoffs. He was also very solid vs the run. Was borderline dominant against the Lions. This guy instantly upgrades our IDL...and doesn't count against the comp pick formula. No draft assets have to be used to acquire. Would help keep Bernard clean. Locker room leader type. Would be a VERY solid signing. -
Sanders dropping to 29 with all the QB needy teams out there is laughable. I don't think he will be good, but some team will pounce if he's there much earlier than that. Overall this is a horrible mock. If it broke this way I would look to move up for Mike Green (taken at 28 lol) or back into the 2nd for extra picks....

I like Benford a lot. Great value for the place he was picked at. However if signs that have pointed to us moving to play more of a man to man defense are true, he's worth less to us than he would be in a zone scheme IMO. The number he may seek may not match up to the output we get in the future. If we move to more of a man scheme, I'm ok letting him test the market.
-
And no one thought Edmunds would approach the number he got from the Bears either. But you got an ascending, young athletic player with starting experience and team leadership out in the open market...really no telling how much value he would have IMO. Especially with more and more teams going lighter/faster on defense these days. But I do think it would go for more than $25M in guaranteed cash.
-
4 years and only $25M in guaranteed money? That's a good value IMO. Low enough AAV that it won't cripple and could be easy to get out of in a year or two. High enough to line him up with players of his level.

Von Miller & Bills trying to agree on contract?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Warriorspikes51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not for nothing, but the Dolphins just had 2 guys give back money in the same week. It happens around the league every year. All comes down to if the vet player feels he can get more on the open market. If he feels he can help refuses the cut and is let go. But it's not "props to him". He's still taking where he feels he can make the most money. It's still a business decision. -
Jags release Christian Kirk, seems like a Billsy move
BuffaloBillyG replied to Roundybout's topic in The Stadium Wall
Not sure. They are down slot (Dell) and a boundary guy (Diggs). This seems to fill the Dell role. -
Except he was basically that last year and couldn't hold off Aiden O'Connell. Trubisky isn't great by any means. If we needed him to play 4 games, I think Brady can shift a gameplan around enough to feature the run game and some of what Mitch does do well to cobble together 2-2 over that span. Anything more than 4 games without Allen is likely to be a lost year anyway. The last think I want is some guy that can help us get to like 8-9 and a game short of the playoffs. If (and please football Gods don't let this happen) we were to be without Josh for an extended period of time, I want the best draft pick out of a lost season as possible to grab an Elite WR talent or DL.
