  1. Any player, no matter how big a distraction will have a spot on an NFL roster if their talent makes it easier to deal with.

TO was a huge distraction everywhere he went, production warrented he was worth it. When Mike Vick came back to the NFL HUGE distraction. Again, talent warrented the roster spot.

IMO, based on talent and talent alone CK should be on an NFL roster if guys like Geno are employed. However his talent level and where he would fall on most teams depth chartsmake the distractio not worth it. Its much like the "Crazy/Hot" scale when ot comes to dating.

  2. I wanted the Bills to end up with Colt McCoy. I also thought Brohm was going to be "the guy". Kyle Orton signing here excited me. I may not be good when it comes to QBs.

On the other hand, I felt during the draft that Josh Allen would be a HUGE bust of comical proportions. So heres to hoping my "luck" works both ways.

  3. Wait until he goes rogue and cuts everyone that commits to playing.

Just playing, wish him luck in the new position. I think the way the cards we're dealt it would have made it hard for any young GM to have much success here. Yea, he made some mistakes and questionable moves but he also made some solid additions. Good luck Doug.

...still remember Winslow Sr's epic game with SD.....

In a Jan. 2, 1982 AFC playoff game, the two high-scoring franchises put on a show in the Orange Bowl, combining for 1,036 yards in a battle that took more than 60 minutes to decide.

The teams fought to a 38-38 tie at the end of regulation, and Chargers All-Pro tight end Kellen Winslow became the lead player in this drama. He barely made it off the field after cramping in overtime — this was a game that saw Winslow endure an injured shoulder, a pinched nerve, a swollen eye, a split lip, cramps and dehydration from the humidity — only to return an block a potential game-winning field goal attempt by Uwe Von Schamann after the Dolphins had recovered a Chuck Muncie fumble.

Three Chargers receivers cracked the 100-yard mark, led by Winslow, who had 13 catches for 166 yards and a touchdown.

Rolf Benirschke's kick seemed to hang in the air forever before sailing through the uprights for a 41-38 victory.

This was honestly the first NFL game I watched on TV as a kid. I still remember 3 things my then 7 year old brain took away from that game.

    1. Do whatever it takes to stay on the field and help your team.

    2. Football is awesome

    3. That Winslow guy is God.

Someone find out where the QBs/WRs will be training together.

Someone else track the Pegula jet because why not?

What about former Bills who we're still bitter about? (Sammy?? What's he sayin??)

What are Saint Doug and Sexy Rexy up to??

C'mon, people...we can find stuff to do!

I feel a "What if we hired Schwartz as HC, then hired Rex as DC and brought Chan back as OC" thread forthcoming.

Last if any of the kids are little and cute, get them to wave and smile shyly at Kelly Pegula. She is the youngest daughter. she likes kids. So if they charm her she might help hook them up.

I tried this with her and being a chubby middle aged man did not have the same success.

She did sign her name beautifully on the restraining order however.

MOST guys fail in the NFL. Their school has nothing to do with it.

And while I know thats correct I still can't help but be a tad leery about QBs that come from there.

Its like if you buy a car. And it breaks. Then you buy another of the same manufacturer. And it breaks. You likely would think twice about purchasing a third from that company even though they were different makes and models.

Someday a QB from USC will shatter the myth. And if Darnold can correct the turnover issues he's had he may be the one. But same was said for Lienart, Barkely, etc etc.

Let's not evaluate individual prospects in a given draft year and instead rely on history to dictate future actions with regard to player acquisition.  This is simply ridiculous!

Is it ridiculous though? Time after time highly touted QBs from USC come out and people say the same thing you just did. And time after time USC QBs flop. Now I fully understand that Sam Darnold is a different player and person than the guys that came before him and I will concede that I think he could be an excellent player in the NFL. But it does at least warrent a "buyer beware" tag.

  9. 1. AJ McCarron will start at least the first 6 games.

    2. Edmunds will be 2nd in NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year voting.

    3. McCoy will fail to break 1000 yards rushing this year due to missing 2 games to injury and late season ineffectiveness.

Bonus prediction: Buffalo will go 9-7 with a nice playoff push late in the year.

  10. As soon as the pick was announced Josh Allen became the single most important player on the team. Every decision from that point forward needs to revolve around his development.

This applies to when he starts as well. Is Allen the kind of player that can sit and learn well...or is he as a person someone that learns better/faster by being on the field and doing? Is he better off long term watching AJ soak up 1st team reps and watching how he does it...or would he get further faster taking the reps himself and seeing everything firsthand?

It's really easy to point to an Aaron Rodgers and say "see sitting works". Or point to a David Carr and say "see thats what happens". Could also point to a Peyton Manning or Russell Wilson and say "this is why it's ok if he starts".

I do have confidence that McDermott is going to do what's best for Allen and his long term outlook. He has to, because as Josh Allen goes it's likely his head coaching career goes as well. I'll trust the guy with everything riding on Josh Allen becoming the best he can be.

Karlos Williams played amazing in nearly every game he played

Zay has never played well in an actual game

Not to split hairs, but he really did. He showed well in the Jets game right before getting hurt. After that he wasn't really on the field as much as Thompson was getting more snaps.

Knowing what we do now about the shoulder and the knee being "ongoing" I think it's fair to wonder if he wasnt used as much because they knew he was playing hurt and that limited his effectiveness.

Either way, starting a career with so many speed bumps rarely bodes well for a guys career. Which is my original point.
