  1. Agree. The answers also don't really allow for many details other than a timeline. For instance, this season I really can't be too disappointed with how it ended up considering the injuries to key players. Match that up with KC coming in pretty healthy and it tips the scale a bit in their favor. It sucks to end the season at home and to that team...but at least there is logical reasoning. My answer to the question is simply, you keep the coach in place until a change is needed. Currently, there is one team in the NFL that has made the playoffs in more consecutive season than the Bills. That team is Kansas City. After nearing 2 decades of missing the playoffs, this is an extremely outstanding accomplishment. Also, judging by the reaction of the players that are in the locker room after the Dunne hit piece...his players still believe in him and he has not lost the locker room. That is the ONE thing that could make a move necessary while still making the playoffs.
  2. Was he though? Ended the year with 132 yards rushing. 62 yards receiving. Of his 132 yards on the ground, 54 came in the Dallas game where they just could not stop the running game. Of his 62 yards in the air, 47 came in one game against the Jets. I do like the way he runs, but I don't think he's more than a practice squad guy with maybe a RB3 ceiling.
  3. I venture a guess that CEH is on their radar. First off he should pretty inexpensive. Second, he worked with Joe Brady at LSU. Third, he's played well against the Bills in the past. Beane has made a habit of signing guys that show out well against us in the past. A couple other RBs to keep an eye on. Familiar faces in Zack Moss and Motor Singletary are expected to be in the FA pool. And we know that Beane likes bringing back people that have played here before. Saying that, I'm not advocating for any of them. Just saying what I could see the team doing.
  4. On the bolded we agree 100%. Winning cures all.
  5. I wouldn't be excited by it as I have always felt he's overrated. But at the right price (league minimum), sure why not. I actually may prefer Taylor Rapp back before him though as I thought he looked better later in the season.
  6. It's one thing to connect to players in college. Another thing to connect once they come out and have a hit the big time. Players at any major program have the end game of making the NFL. As a guy that played and coached there Harbaugh has that instant cred as someone that can get them there and they will follow that lead. Once they make it, it's a whole new game. Tougher to lead a room full of millionaires than it is to lead a room full of hopeful players. We shall see how it turns out over time, but I really believe it's going to turn out way different than many believe.
  7. I don't think Harbaugh is a bad coach or anything. It will be interesting to see if his personality and methods are still applicable and impactful in the NFL or if it will be a case of him not being able to recreate what he had in San Francisco. Have to think that "talented roster" is likely to be dismantled fairly quickly as many players there are older, overpaid or both. They lack younger impact players to build around. And they almost always suffer some of the worst injury luck year in and year out. They have almost always had more than enough talent to compete going back to the Dan Fouts/Kellen Winslow/Charlie Joiner days. I really don't care about the National Championship. At all. As a matter of fact, only 3 coaches have won both that and a Super Bowl. Pete Carroll, Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer...and frankly Switzer won with Jimmy's team. I do agree that the Chiefs will have a larger challenge now. That helps the rest of the AFC if the Chargers can even take 1 game a year from the Chiefs.
  8. Welcome to the off-season hype machine. Last year was the Jets. This year with Harbaugh going to the Chargers it will be them. And that will all be based off the almost certainty from the media that Harbaugh will "fix" Herbert. One thing that's constant in football is that Chargers will find a way to Charger.
  9. Not at all. Just defining what I meant by "world". Really sounds like you're having some sensitivity issues though. You good, dude?
  10. In America it's gun violence. In other countries there are issues as well. Let's not act like any place in the world is a freaking Utopia.
  11. That's the thing about the world today. I really wish a shooting like this would take me by shock. But after so many incidents and so many years of it...I've just become numb to it all.
  12. Whitehead is a guy I think we should keep an eye on. Beane has a tendency to sign guys that flash against us and he flashed in a big way week 1 last season. Stone is a good one as well and I believe would fit what we do here.
  13. I think he's an average starter and has the possibility of getting better. Stronger in the run game than pass blocking. If he's open to an average starter paycheck...sign him. Long term my issue with him isn't his play, however I would need to see another year or so of being free from back issues to really invest in him. Backs are one of the more tricky injuries for guys of his size.
  14. I agree safety is loaded in FA, but it appears to be a very top heavy group. Kyle Dugger is my #1 hope in FA, but even he has an expected $16.5M AAV. If he gets that number remains to be seen, but it's very possible the young good safeties out there (including Winfield and Curl) will be out of our price range.
  15. This is what my gut tells me will happen. And it's a good move for both parties. Tre won't likely see big bucks as a FA. And if he comes back and is able to play I don't know if he's better than Douglas or Benford at this stage of his career. He's likely the #3 boundary CB. The one caveat here is IF he were to come back and IF he's healthy enough to be the #2 CB...a case could be made for the Bills to start the Benford to safety transition they talked about last off season. That would also IMO depend on Elam taking steps forward and possibly Dane Jackson returning as experienced depth. So a lot in play for a move like this.
  16. Depends on how the board falls and what the Bills do in FA. The draft is very deep at WR and depending on who is there you could possibly find a day 1 starter/key contributor at WR on day 2. So, for me let's say the Bills snag a Darnell Mooney in FA...but decide to let DaQuan Jones walk. I'd be good in that scenario taking someone like T'Vondre Sweat at that spot and being prepared to slide up a bit in Rd 2 for a WR if a run starts to happen.
  17. Yes, Beane has final say. He does take McDermott's views heavily under advisement especially when it comes to a pick where there are 2 guys they could pick that are graded pretty equal. And that's how it should work, quite frankly. Do people really want Beane to say "EFF off Sean, I'll pick guys and you figure out how they fit"? Who wouldn't want a team where the HC and GM work together? It's almost odd the way certain fans attribute every good pick to "Beane's a wizard" and every bad pick to "Ungh, McDermott has too much say so". The McDermott Derangement Syndrome on this board is seriously comical at times IMO.
  18. My unpopular opinion is James Cook is a good but not great back is better suited for a committee role. The drops, fumbles and lack of ability to pass block render him a not every down player in my book. RB is a sneaky need this year and no, re-signing Johnson does not move the needle in the RB room.
  19. This is what I'm fully expecting. If you look back at Beane's drafting he often skips over the positions that are considered deeper in talent early. I believe he sees the idea of there being better value if they wait and get a talented guy in round 2 or 3. Wouldn't shock me at all to see him nab someone like T'Vondre Sweat if he's on the board round 1 and go WR in round 2.
  20. What separates them from every other team is the Chiefs currently have 90% of the topics on a Buffalo Bills message board dedicated to them. They are far too in everyone's head.
  21. So, in your mind this fan fiction scenario that you have written for us...even though Allen turned out pretty darn good under McDermott and the situation in Buffalo, Mahomes...well he would have flopped and McDermott would be gone. If we don't trade there the likelihood is that KC trades with the Saints who picked right behind us. If not the next QB off the board was with the Texans picking Watson with the pick following the Saints.. Perhaps they take Mahomes and we talk about Houston being a dynasty now. They end up keeping DHop. Bill O'Brien is lauded as an offensive genius. The flap of the wings of a butterfly so to speak.
  22. I agree. I'm a believer that winning comes from within. The internal drive to get better and be the best. Mahomes has that. I'm no Mahomes apologist by any means but simply chalking up his progress and performance to "well he has Andy" is a discredit to the player he is. That being said, it HELPS that he's put in a good position to be successful. And it's beneficial that he's had the same voice in his ear for his entire career. But Pat still has to execute the plays.
