Let's talk about the ballsiest way we win. Everything aligns and it's win and in week 17. The Bills are down by 7 and drive the field to score a TD with mere  seconds remaining.  Rather than tie and go to OT- the Bills go for two and Tyrod runs it in. Clock expires as he crosses the goal and game over.

Billsiest way we make the playoffs? We beat Miami, beat NE, and get blown out by Miami in the last game...somehow we still make the playoffs due to other teams losing. That way, even though we win...we still "only got lucky" and "backed in". Even when we win we still lose the credit for it somehow.

The more important question is, how many times does DD go hunting in a week? I mean to get this many scoops in the last couple days, he has to be out there hunting 24/7, doesn't he?

Exactly. At this point it's a matter of buck shotting ideas and seeing what hits the flesh. Pretty much the LaCanfornia approach.

    Breaking News

"When healthy, Tyrod will be our starter," coach Sean McDermott told reporters Wednesday. "He’s made some progress. He’ll get most of the work today in practice, not quite all the work, though."

I bet Beane is pissed off

More breaking news: McDermott chose to have chicken salad for lunch yesterday even though Beane sent an inner office memo pitching the tuna as it is close to expiring.

Beane is reportedly FURIOUS and is considering resigning his position.

Why Gilly he wouldnt be coming back here. This is the staff that said Buh Bye to him

Well we did tender him...just not high enough. Cadet and Tolbert have both been banged up (and Tolbert has been...well Tolbert) so perhaps they look for an upgrade right before we play the Patties again. Think Gilly would like to stick it to the Patties if he's cut?

I mean it's pointless now as they didn't cut him. But that was my train of thinking.

That's quite the stretch...because they screamed at each other for 20 seconds during a game ?...they've been working together for years.....I guess you missed the hundreds of times when they celebrate a nice play or a TD.....Also, it's common knowledge that if he wants it, the NE job his is when BB retires...he doesn't need to create waves...and BB would kick him to the curb if he was....have you paid attention to the way they run things up there ?

It's actually been several times this year those 2 have gotten into it. And if you watch their interactions and understand body language tips, yes there is some tension there.

And perhaps McDaniels is getting tired of waiting. I don't know. I did say that it wouldn't shock me if he was doing that because he does strike me as a weasel. And honestly I'd be willing to say if BB gets any say in naming his successor (and he may) I'd be willing to be he names Patricia over McDaniels. Just a hunch but I'd bet BB sees more of himself in Patricia than a priss like Joshie. Again, admitted that part is speculation on my end.

After last nights upset of the Patriots the media is now singing the praises of Miami and Bills fans are scared much more of games I think many saw or said would be easier against MIA. While Miami got a nice win against the Patriots last night I think people need to pump the breaks a bit. I am by no means saying Miami is a weak foe either, Gase has this team playing hard regardless of record and no team is a pushover for the Bills. Other then the Raiders games all of our wins have been close and even if the Bills sweep the Phins I would expect similar.

That said here are a few reasons I think we need to slow down the "Miami is going to roll Buffalo train":

    Patriots suck playing in Miami:

Four of the last five games played in Miami the Dolphins have beat New England with two of those games being by 10 points or more. Since Brady took over for the Patriots Miami they actually are 8-9 in Miami one of the few teams that have beat the Patriots more often then not. Perhaps Tom has a beach house he gets smashed at before the game, the humidity really is a factor, or some other weird JuJu but the Dolphins have managed to be a decent thorn for the Patriots at home. If the Dolphins beat anyone not named the Patriots this would be a regular game, but the primetime slot mixed with the fact the Patriots name has an aura and the hype gets pumped.

Buffalo actually has a better point differential, have scored more points than Miami, and actually allowed less points on D:

These two teams are frankly far similar then what a lot of people will say, but the Bills actually have a much better PD despite being torched by the Chargers and Saints. Up until the last two weeks the Dolphins had allowed 28 pts or more for 6 straight weeks. Their defense has allowed 28 more points then the Bills defense. By comparison even the Bills with the nightmare 3 game stretch have fared better on defense.  The Bills offense somehow someway has actually outscored Miami 240-236. Obviously not sexy stats by any stretch on offense, but the Dolphins while they have better QB play are not some crazy dynamo either on offense. The Dolphins offense has been playing since Cutler returned to the lineup which cannot be discounted, but this is also the same QB who weeks 1-4 scored a whopping 41 points on offense so take that all as you can.

Dolphins Defense Not As Potent As It Seems:

Miami is kind of similar to the Bills on defense with a bend type break mantra. They like the Bills are decent on 3rd down defense, Passing D is upper half of the league, and run defense a little bit better then Buffalo in the middle of the pack. But while their defensive line gets a lot of hype they have a whopping 2 more sacks then the Bills with 23 overall. The point of attack/who wins the line will dictate the game Sunday, but Buffalo may have an advantage especially play at home against Miami. Also while Turnovers are far from predictable Miami ranks in the bottom 3rd of the league overall while the Bills have been pretty good at getting turnovers especially at opportune times.

Miami has not had a bye this season:

Because of the hurricane that delayed the Dolphins first game until later on in the season Miami has been playing now for 13 straight weeks. Also playing on Monday night they have one less day to rest their guys. While this may not seem like a major factor the war of attrition is undefeated in having an effect on a team. It will be a high of 34 Sunday with snow and wind for the game. I would not be surprised of the Dolphins get a little gassed as the game progresses given the shortened rest and overall fatigue on their bodies.

Overall this game I will expect to be very close in the end with Buffalo coming out. When we go down to Miami I would flip the script because the teams are both very similar in a lot of styles. For Buffalo to win though they will need a game that mimics what they did against Denver offensively and defense to get enough 3 and outs to be rested. The biggest threat to the Bills losing Sunday is Cutler getting hot and throwing all over. The only reason I am not more fearful of that is the Bills secondary is now healthy and has been the strength of the D all season allowing the least amount of TD's thrown on all year. It shall be a fun affair go bills!

    THANK YOU!!

If it leads to a 77 yard TD, it was a decent contribution.

If making one play then being inactivity be for the playoffs and Super Bowl is your classification of a decent contribution you should raise your standards a tad, mate.

By that rational Vlad has contributed to several TDs this year...I wouldn't call him decent at anything aside from wasting a roster spot.

    Your arguement holds no water.

If it did, does that allow fans that are frustrated with players performing poorly to throw stuff at them?

And...now your argument holds no water.

Huge difference between yelling at someone and actually throwing something at them. But yea, fans are more then welcome to yell at the players. Been happening for decades.

    They won the Superbowl.

And how did the Floyd move help that? I'm comparing moves off late season WR signings. Not talking about the team as a whole. The Floyd signing...how did he help em? See what I'm saying here is that everyone panicking saying Britt is going to explode is overreacting. I'm saying Britt will most likely not contribute. Thinking he will end up a gameday inactive. Much like Floyd.

    Possibly Gilly? Please be Gilly....

Patriots are finalizing a deal with former Browns WR Kenny Britt, per @FieldYates. Deal expected to be done shortly.

So this is sort of like what they attempted with Michael Floyd last year. That didn't work out. Don't think this one will either.

There's a bunch available too.  Keenum, bradford, mccown are all UFAs.  Then you have Smith who may get cut, or cousins if you wanna pay a ton.

I'd be fine with Bradford, if we also draft someone.

Honestly though if we were going to roll with Bradford I'd rather just let the rookie start from day 1. There's a real good chance at some point Bradford will miss games forcing the new guy to start.  So why not let him get all the 1st team reps and make him as ready as possible?

The officials have been making terrible calls for years. It still doesn't justify players disputing calls the way they have recently.

That's your opinion. But as you state...it's been going on for years. Frustration builds. Players also know that in a conflict with officials the league automatically sides with officials. Even when they are blatantly wrong. Again frustration.

    29 minutes ago, LeGOATski said:

Did they send a memo to the officials about calling a consistent game?

And that's the real point. Consistent. In the MLB it's well known how certain umpires call balls and strikes. If they are consistent there isn't an issue. Same should apply to NFL refs. An officiating crew classifies a holding call in a certain way better call it on both sides and not just when situation benefits.

I however do give credit to the officials from the snow bowl last weekend. That 2 point conversion flag was one that had they not called would have ended the game sooner...this getting themselves into a warm room quicker. So credit them for making an important call in harsh climate.
