A guy who rarely throws INT's could do worse than 5 picks in one half?  Um...okay, yea, right.  I'm not sure Taylor could've been worse if he tried.

No, but a guy that holds the ball too long could have takes 8-10 sacks and lost a couple fumbles. Or just kept going 3 and out. Or just checked down to a RB or TE on 3rd and 18.

There you go.  time stamped    as we use to say back in the day, boom boom out go the lights  crickets>>>>>>>>

Ok, so vague enough where if something great happens you can claim it...with the built in kicker of if nothing happens it's all on McDs lack of guts. Like all the "Predictions" just very vague. If/when Alex Smith is not the QB next year (even though it's a "done deal") it will be someone soured on him at the last minute.

  3. Honestly he wouldn't be a phenomenal long term answer but he would be a good stop gap while we wait for "The Guy".  He is used to throwing 50/50 balls to have his guys go get it. He can actually read a defense. Has 16...oh no wait it 17 4th quarter comebacks. We could do much worse. He's not a franchise guy...but I would definitely take him.

I don't want to make this sound like a postmortem, I want us to go to the Super Bowl and win it along with any other fan and think we have a legitimate shot at going to the divisional round this weekend.

That being said, the road to the Superbowl is a tough one and the chances of us not only going to Foxboro and pulling out a win then elsewhere are very slim.  I don't think I'm blowing anybody's minds by saying this.

That being said, I think that leaves us with three options heading in to the off season, which would you rather see play out and give some insight as to why you feel that way. (To get this team to the point of going deep in to the post season, in particular).

1.) We are a few pieces away, get a quarterback in FA and get a lot of solid talent through the draft to fill our glaring holes (DT, DE/LB, WR, OT)

2.) Blow our draft pick load in the draft and get one of the top 3 quarterbacks and try to build around him in FA

3.) Tyrod got us to the playoffs, keep going with him and build talent and a better defense around him through the draft.

I honestly think the 1 or 3 is our best option.  We can get to the postseason with Tyrod, clearly, and he only started 14 games.  I would rather have a QB that could get our offense in to the top 20, then we would have a mediocre offense and a top 10 defense (I think we are around #9 right now?).  Get our defense top 5 through the draft.  Lorax and KW might be on the way out due to age, so that makes DE/LB / DT a bigger need.

    1 and 3.

Keep Taylor. He is well liked by teammates and doesn't turn the ball over. Bring in a FA. Someone like Keenum. Draft a rookie. Best guy starts...Taylor or the FA traded after camp. Fill holes with rest of draft picks.

Not what I said. I specifically said losing him hurts most in the passing game. But it's not as if Shady hasn't disappeared as a factor in a number of games over his 3 year Bills career. Just check those Miami box scores ...

Again, check box scores all you want...while they were busy stopping Shady...who was stepping up? Oh, yea the much maligned Tyrod Taylor. Just having him on the field opens so much up that a box score just won't tell ya.

Also yes, this last game was a low production game...but as you said...check the Miami box score. 96 yards from scrimmage and 2 TDs in the first meeting. There is no one else on this team that can produce in a duel threat role like that.

When you say he has disappeared over stretches...again...when he disappears his impact on the ACTUAL game (not box score) is felt.

  6. We may not "need" McCoy to win but if you're trying to say we can plug about anyone into his spot and get close to the same result you are delusional.

What your stats don't have factored in is his receiving ability. What everyone else is able to do, how they face less pressure when he is out there. His experience, leadership. Place a "stat" on that. How about being a true home run threat...I don't have a "stat" handy...but I doubt we see Tolbert bounce to the outside and ripoff a 60 yard run. Just the ability to have that on the field is a game changer.

Interesting stat is that the Bills had the 12th easiest schedule, but Baltimore, Tennessee and LAC all were easier, and that was the second tie-breaker.

A big thank you to Cleveland for being so bad and NYJ for not being as bad......

I'm confused. Which grumpy old man in the balcony are you again? I'm betting it's Waldorf.

Problem I see is I don’t think there is a team in the playoffs to take down the Cheats.

Oh I do. KC has beat them once already and always plays em tough. Pittsburgh certainly can.  Even the lowly Bills can...it's hard for a team to beat another team 3 times in one season.

As much as people are ignoring the fact as well...Brady is 40. He didn't play a full season before the playoffs last year. This year he has. Past 3 weeks he's looked old and vulnerable. They may win it all...but they are beatable.

Obviously we move onto the patriots to get drubbed again.....but my question is how upset would people be if the bills sat down......gave serious thought to the fact that TT was the qb on the team that made the playoffs.....and advanced past the wild card.

I personally think we should still draft a qb high.....but the picks are in the 20's so I think the top 3 qbs (whoever that is at this point) are probably not within our reach unless we trade up.

We have so many picks in this next draft

Well here is where it gets to be more complicated than stats will show.

This team this year is not the most talented top to bottom. They win by playing as a team and excellent team chemistry. I don't know how McD as a coach can remove him from the team and not lose a large part of the locker room. I think making the playoffs kind of forces TTs way back on the team next season...at least to start out. I think we still draft a QB high. Wouldn't shock me to see TT and the rookie compete in TC and TT start the season as our starter.

The only way I see that changing is if this week against the Jags TT has a Peterman-like collapse and we lose big.

They really published their predictions for the Patriots as 16-0?????

How does this person sleep at night?

If you recall, they weren't the only ones saying that before the season started. Coming off a Super Bowl win, adding Gilmore and new RBs a few in the media were convinced it was an unbeatable team.

The only NFC Playoff Team they got right is the Falcons.

Thermos? No. But it is Blu Tooth  compatible for some odd reason.

Had an interesting thought this morning: Buffalo and it's player trade partners made a strong showing this year:

KC - Reggie Ragland - IN

LA Rams - Sammy Watkins, EJ Gaines - IN

Philly - Ronald Darby, Jordan Matthews - IN

Carolina - Kelvin Benjamin - IN

Jacksonville - Marvell Dareus - IN

    Buffalo - IN

That's a pretty good success rate.

Guess it pays to deal with the Bills.

This was me as well...just waiting..."Ravens still have time....3 time outside left...."

Once that 4th down pass fell to the turf though...jumping happened...eyes did well up a bit...couldn't scream as the kids had just gone to bed...
