  1. I get the same vibe from him as a QB as I got from Christian Ponder in a sense that they are both unspectacular prospects that will be drafted too high because of the position they play. I've seen that, I kind of get the comparison but I actually though when he came out Petty has a slightly higher ceiling had he gone to a team with a solid offensive coaching staff.
  2. Agree. But we also need to upgrade the quality of some of our depth players. It's really not an either/or scenario. You can do both. I mean, unless you're content with Tolbert's turkey grease covered hands touching the ball again.
  3. The Bills stay at current draft slots. Draft BPA. The camera zooms into the Bills War Room. We see Russ Brandon smiling. He takes off his mask to reveal he was Tom Donahoe the whole time. A confused Beane resigns. Buddy Nix is brought back as GM. Buddy reveals he has been posting as Dunkirk Don. Face. Melter.
  4. Well, we already have or had players signed. We need better players in place of them...we need to UPGRADE the quality of the DEPTH so to speak.
  5. There is absolutely positively no chance Shady would be part of the deal. One thing that helps a rookie QB is a strong running game. I believe Beane is smarter than dealing his only consistent playmaker on offense. The only way I would make this trade is a Shady and our firsts for both their firsts. From there I'd move the 4th and a second or 3rd to move up to 2. Rosen and Barkley.
  6. Yes, and if he shows well at the combine/pro days wouldn't shock me to see in go a smidge higher than that. Aside from a QB I feel like the thing we HAVE to upgrade is the run defense. That Saints game still gives me nightmares. If we can't upgrade our number one need, move on and upgrade number 2. Vea would do that.
  7. I'd rather move up for Rosen then get and extra pick this year. That being said if the draft plays out certain ways we could conceivably do both. If we can't find a trade partner that will take our offer is move 21 and a 2 to possibly slide up and grab Vita Vea. Then I'd look to move 22 and get that 2nd we gave up to grab Vea or some other picks back. The focus for QB would then be on Falk/Lauletta/White unless Jackson fell back into our lap.
  8. Want: Dion Lewis just so we don't have to play him again. Dude destroyed us last year. Think: a rookie and a vet. Vet will be a bigger between the tackles thunder type while the rookie is quicker and adds special teams value.
  9. Wow, really tough break for the kid. In addition to the injury and possible surgery/rehab that just cost him a good chunk of change. Hope he can recover. And yes, if he is able to recover and is sitting there are 53 that's a no brainer pick as long as medically he checks out with a good prognosis.
  10. You try and get back together with all your ex's don't ya? The Sammy ship has sailed in Buffalo. A real coup would be to upgrade WR through the draft and free agency.
  11. Well, as long as whichever QB they take is good then they didn't miss out. If the guy they are able to get flops (or they whiff and don't take one at all) I think in 3 years people would say " We should have done whatever it took to get Rosen".
  12. Was he ever really "in charge" of anything? The one time he did something on his own was when he went rogue on Jackson. That's pretty much his legacy in my eyes.
  13. If it sounds that he wants Rosen, he doesn't want Rosen. He seems to be talking up Mayfield, Rosen and Jackson which is leading me to believe he's more interested in Darnold, Allen or Rudolph. ?
  14. I would give him an offer with just below market value. In addition I would set it up so that after this season if he retires he would be hired on as an assistant dline coach. He truly seems to have the chops for a coaching career.
  15. In my mind when Beane was asked about moving on from Tolbert his replay was "OH YEH" and it sounded like the Kool-Aid Man.
  16. Someone missed the point of the thread. Why couldn't he see this?
  17. Depends on what he's looking for. If it's top end RT money the injuries would definitely scare me off a bit. If he's ok with a prove it type deal, then it's in my wheelhouse. That's only if Glenn isn't healthy. If Cordy is good to go I would gladly keep him instead.
  18. I absolutely love Vita Vea. I think he is going to be an elite player. Giving up an extra pick in the third to move up would be an absolute steal. Any other year.
  19. Yup. That the last regime drafted. They may not like him or had him rated high.
  20. If this team hires Bill Polian in any capacity that has some kind of say so over football operations I'm out.
  21. Wow, that's pretty hopeless then. I suggest seeking the help of a mental health professional. Possibly even seek self committal. And please stay away from shape objects.
  22. My dream scenario is to only have to give up picks from this year's draft to move up. I don't care if it's both our 1s and 2s and our 3rd. We stockpiled enough to entice someone with all our picks plus the extras. Use FA to fill holes the best we can and keep next year's picks to build around our QB. I'd give him EJ's hard count.
