  1. It is. And with all the teams being discussed I can almost guarantee there is at least 1 team hiding in the shadows...lurking. Something sure smells "fishy".
  2. High priced TE that can't catch well? And we get to burn a draft pick on him? I'll pass. Not that Ebron would catch it.
  3. Happens to be the same pro style we are supposed to be implementing here as well. Kinda gives the kid a leg up if you ask me.
  4. Denver, Cleveland, Jets would help immensely. Arizona as well. Really anyone needing a QB and drafting ahead of us.
  5. If we had Jackson here, I'd rather have a pocket type QB that he can learn from. He already knows how to run. The only thing Taylor can be is an example of what not to do.
  6. So did we lose that trade? ?? Feel bad for the guy. Was in camp with the eventual Super Bowl Champs, got shipped out and got hurt 1st day here. Wish him well, seems like a classy dude.
  7. Honestly with all the QBs available this year through draft and FA it wouldn't shock me if he ended up with a prove it deal. Maybe a 2 year with team options for second year. Then again it only takes one team to say "Yup, that's our guy" and offer something huge.
  8. Well, no matter who they draft they have to tailor the offense to their skillset somewhat anyhow. This is something I've read (but admitting I don't have first hand knowledge of) that Daboll does really well. If a shorter guy needs more snaps out of shotgun, so be it. I believe McCoy ran better out of shotgun anyways.
  9. "Dealing with" Newton got them to a Super Bowl. In what way is Mayfield not a "traditional" passer? His height? Or did you mean Jackson? Not trolling just trying to see your point a bit better. I'd still take him over Peterman.
  10. My top choice is Rosen. But to be more specific: If we trade up: Rosen If we stand at 21: Jackson If we go non first round: White Who I think Buffalo is targeting: Baker Mayfield. We've heard rumors they like Darnold, Rosen, Jackson is #2 on their board, Allen will be a visit...wonder why we hear nothing on one specific "top prospect". Close to the vest...
  11. McDermott has already been quoted as saying that he wants a vet in the QB room for a variety of reasons. There is no way that we go with rookie, Peterman and a rookie next year. Would be about the same as going into a season with Manual/Tuel as the only QBs on the roster. I get trying to take 2 swings at upgrading, but now with 3 young QBs you have a ton of extra work to try and groom 3 guys as opposed to having one guy at least that already knows what he is. Reps get split between 3 instead of 2, not as much attention can be paid to the guy you picked to be "The Guy".
  12. I have personally never believed they would go QB at 2 anyways. Barkley or Chubb for them. They will get a QB at some point I think, but I'm thinking more round 3 or 4. They have Webb, but he was selected by last regime and who really knows what Gettleman thinks of him.
  13. Without looking up stats...sure. Joe Flacco and his playoff run a few years back. Then what happened? I'm not disagreeing that Foles had 2 very good games in the big time. I really don't care about that though. At the end of the day it was just that...2 games. As you said a few posts back...he's not even the best option. And giving up picks to acquire him makes it even worse.
  14. Now that you mention it...the Mayfield hype machine is coming up rather short.
  15. True, and none have had an opportunity. Lets not judge a fish on his ability to climb a tree. Most of those same names all have the opportunity to far exceed Nick Foles. There's a heck of a reward. Nick Foles is the ugly girl in the bar, who you know you can take home and I even heard she makes a decent pancake. We should settle on that right? That "10" that walked in? Haven't heard about her pancake skills...so no need to chase that. Why risk a bad ? I've heard Daboll does well adapting the offense to his team. I have to think Daboll may like that Jackson has experience in the E-P offense. Ultimately Beane did say he wasn't basing the decision on who fits the offense because Daboll could be gone in a year or two "as a HC himself".
  16. Joe Flacco, Malcolm Smith, Santanio Holmes, Deion Branch, Dexter Jackson, Desmond Howard, Larry Brown, Mark Rypien, Otis Anderson. All Super Bowl MVPs.
  17. I never said any other QB in the draft is more of a sure thing and insinuating I did is just stupid. But I do know this...each of those QBs, even the Whites and Laulettas of the draft have the potential to be just as good. Or, and here's a wild thought...better than Nick Foles. Sometimes you need to try for greatness. Taking Nick Foles and calling that good enough for now would be terribly uninspiring. You say Keenum would require a hefty investment and you're likely correct there. But Foles comes here I can almost promise you that he will get an extension. Maybe even "Case Keenum money".
  18. The way I see it, it's called needless squandering of a draft pick. Like I said you could potentially get the same productivity from a Keenum and not have to give up the pick. When you look at his Super Bowl performance it's real easy to get caught up in how well he played. It's easier to forget that the Pats for some reason benched Malcolm Butler and Patrick Chung missed a chunk of time in the game. Gilmore was locked on Alshon and the rest of the receivers played against replacement level talent.
  19. Using that logic why draft a QB at all? Peterman has NFL stats accumulated. Mike Glennon has NFL stats accumulated. Foles had that amazing 27 TD season in 2013. He's thrown 28 since then. No thank you and especially not giving up a high draft pick for him. Same or better productivity could be had potentially by Keenum, McCown or someone of that ilk.
  20. Shaquem Griffen would seem like the kind of guy McDermott would love.
  21. I'm betting it's the Browns TBH. Aside from them having more than enough draft picks to burn here, Hue likes his QBs tall and Dorsey was in KC when Foles was there.
  22. Mason Rudolph. Out of any of the guy projected to go "first round" he's the only QB we could select that I would absolutely be disgusted in.
