  1. Ultimately, it comes down to his play. That should be the impact and his play has been very good. Here's the thing about comparing what the Patriots did back in the day and what the Chiefs are currently doing; to the Bills approach. Rings buy you the benefit of the doubt. You can have that ruthless mindset when you're playing for the title every year. People will put up with that. They won't for less. Look what happened as soon as Brady left and the Super Bowl train stopped in New England. It became a place free agents avoided and vets walked away from. Now, I am part of the group that wants younger/cheaper options. However, going with some younger players actually cements in my mind the need for a guy like Morse. Leadership. Mentorship. Setting the example of how it's done here. I'm going to wait and see what they end up with on his contract before I get too far up the road in judging too harshly if he's here or not. I will agree the number must come down in some way to make sense.
  2. Morse is also a core leader of this team. Well thought of and well liked in addition to his play being perhaps the best it's been during his time here. You don't just cut guys like that.
  3. Imagine how upset I was when I marched down there with cash in hand to buy up all the bags...only to find out it was our Josh Allen and not the Jacksonville EDGE rusher Josh Allen. Thought I'd make a KILLING on the resale market. Or is that just with the OJ..... McDuffie bags?
  4. Anyone that falls for this one is a special kinda.... special. 😂😂
  5. Agree. While I do think Diggs has some good football in him I'm more about younger/cheaper at safety. Adams is not only injured a LOT but when he does play is extremely overrated IMO and has been his whole career.
  6. All mocks are trash unless they say exactly what I specifically want them to say.
  7. Totally not the point. You do understand, it's actually kind of important to have more than 1 QB on a roster, right? You need a backup and most likely one on the PS as well. So, would you rather pay a Kyle Allen/Mitch Trubisky $4M-5M to not save the season or a late round rookie substantially less to do the same, knowing the cost difference can go to filling other needs? Having needs in other places is preciously WHY you draft that rookie in round 5ish instead of signing the vet.
  8. Milton is the obvious one as many have said. However if for some reason he slides until day 3, Spencer Rattler is a guy I like as well.
  9. Let it play out. Moving on from him now saves $5.4M against the 2025 cap next year. Which means that Beane now has a tad more flexibility to sign an impactful player and add a void year with no net loss to dead cap next season. That could be the difference between signing a Leonard Floyd type player as opposed to a low level EDGE.
  10. Because of the offset language in his Bronco contact, it's highly likely that whoever signs him will get him at league minimum for a veteran. No one will have to overpay him. Anything signed above minimum just makes it so the Broncos pay less. Giants are a team I'd keep an eye on.
  11. I believe trading him now also saves $5.4M off NEXT years cap. That's something they have to keep in mind when doing restructuring or extensions this year. Right now it looks like the Bills only have about $30M of 2025 cap to play with as well.
  12. Yea, with what it saves on cap this trade doesn't actually make much sense. Unless Bates requested to move on due to falling behind Torrence, it doesn't really do much but open a possible backup job.
  13. Should be an early 5th. Not a bad return. Clears some cap.
  14. Lots of teams need QBs. He won't hurt for employment IMO.
  15. Guy has had one heck of a career on the field and is eloquent and intelligent enough to have one heck of a career off the field if he so chooses.
  16. And if they use the tag on Sneed that puts all the leverage in Chris Jones's hands. He can look at the Chiefs contract offer, then head to the open market to see what some one else will pay and either move on or hit the Chiefs up for more money. Not a terrible development IMO.
  17. Good run stuffer. Better as a 3-4 true NT then 4-3 1T IMO.
  18. That's a win for Buffalo. We weren't going to pay him and it keeps him from the Chiefs or any other AFC team that would have.
  19. One of the best and most likable to ever do it. Don't think I've ever heard a bad word about the man. Sports reporting aside, the world lost a good person. RIP Mort.
  20. Also remember, that $40M over the cap is NOT official. The sites we see on line are close guesses. Just a couple of weeks ago the NFLPA had us listed at $36M and change over the cap before either of these moves were made.
  21. It's like the Patriots were a few years back in people's minds. The funny thing is, the Chiefs traded their top WR, one of the best on the field in the NFL...then went on to win the next 2 Super Bowls. Then they had what looks to be a find with Rice. Who's to say they're even in a huge hurry to stock the position at the top of the draft/huge FA move?
  22. You can't forecast anything like that. This is true. I still think a lot of the lack of usage is on Dorsey for not getting him SOME kind of small roll. Either way, with the production the Colts ended up getting from Moss this year...I'll say we're square from the Hughes/Sheppard trade before that😂
