Somewhere in Philly, Joe Flacco weeps while packing a duffle bag.

I despise Rex Ryan, but even a broken clock is right twice a day. This is one where it's so painfully obvious that even he can identify it.

Frankly, I'm shocked fans still fall for this stuff. Just this last offseason we were told Watson would never play for the Texans again. Russ Wilson was done in Seattle and now way would Rodgers play for the Packers ever ever ever! Russ, still a Seahawk. Rodgers, still a Packer. Watson, still a Texan (albeit with extenuating circumstance)...however he still reported to camp ready to roll. The "reporters" got their clicks and traffic though. Most of what we hear as fans is fiction.

This seems to be Buffalo's "thing" the last few years more often than not. They started the season running poorly, hit bye week and make some corrections. Run a bit better for a few games then get pass happy again. Last year IIRC they switched to more Lee Smith in the game. Wonder what tweaks they made this year.

We SHOULD smoke them this game. But, man this is the NFL amd the Dolphins are (technically) NFL players. I think it's gonna be closer than many think. 31-20 type game.

Mahomes vs Allen - The Long Term Knight
BuffaloBillyG replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall
While what you say here is factually correct it's important to look a bit deeper as well. Kelce and Hill have both seen a spike in numbers, namely yards per game with Mahomes...this is true. However this is a byproduct of Mahomes throwing the ball 150-200 more times a season than Smith did in his day. More attempts will of course result in more targets and more yards per game. However looking at ypc of both Hill and Kelce are right in the wheelhouse with Mahomes that they were in with Smith. So, I can't say he's made them better per say as much as he's gotten more opportunity to throw. Outside of those 2 guys there is no one on the Chiefs that has prospered from playing with him. Guys like Hardman, Pringle, even im the past with a guy like Watkins. They are who they are. Flip the script to Allen and his guys and players like Diggs, Beasley, John Brown all had marked improvement. I'm not in any way saying Mahomes doesn't have elite level talent. He's just not as far away elite as he's been made out to be. -
Mahomes vs Allen - The Long Term Knight
BuffaloBillyG replied to rayray808's topic in The Stadium Wall
My thought on this is maybe a bit overly simplistic. But, Travis Kelce has always been Travis Kelce. Hill has always been Hill. Mahomes hasn't taken them to any new heights. Many times we see these great Mahomes plays and when it gets broken down it's just a matter of him winging it deep and Hill outrunning everyone. Mahomes has even said as much. I believe he falls into the category (as does Hill and Kelce) of teams have figured out ways to defend them. As of yet, there has been very little of an answer from the Chiefs on fixing it. This is much more than just 6 or 7 games this year as well. Going as far back as the Dolphins/Chiefs game last year things have slowed down for that offense. While Mahomes has done great things in the past (and taking nothing away from his past accomplishments) he's finally looking every bit the player that scouting reports had him as coming out of college. The NFL has caught up to him. Can he adjust and improve? Maybe. -
Mahomes vs Allen - The Long Term Knight

This isn't just a few games off for Mahomes. I remember as far back as middle of last season he looked rather human. This year he's looked worse. Yes, he's still dangerous...but is it him or the Kelce/Hill combo that makes him better? Time well tell there. But for all the praise given to him over the years one thing is certain for me. He hasn't progressed from where he was and gotten better. Seems to me at least he's bought into his own press and makes really poor decisions because "I'm Mahomes and I can"...but now he cannot. Flip over to Allen and he gets better every year. Where there was a huge gap between Allen and the top QBs before...now there is none. Tl;dr- The difference between Allen and Mahomes is that 1 player is ascending and 1 is descending. 1 player makes those around him better and the other you could argue is better because his surrounding cast bails him out. -

He's really not. But he's excellent for my fantasy team lol I may cry too if I had to play for Nagy -

Eagles really used Miles Sanders a bunch on opening drive. They going to feature him today to help the trade market?🤔🤔🤔 -

Wow. Sam Darnold has regressed from his Jet days. I didn't think that was possible. -

Jets. Hope Wilson throws for 400 yards and 5 TDs....then goes back to his normal self. Give those Jet fans a week of hope just to have it snatched away yet again🤣🤣 -

Stafford has years of pent up rage to unleash on the Lions. He will channel the football spirits of Barry Sanders and Megatron and play that franchise back for years of squandering talent. Rams by 40.🤣 -
10/17 Chiefs at Titans 1 pm EST on CBS
BuffaloBillyG replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I know what common sense is. Should be rooting for the Titans. However I want KC to continue to struggle and be a few more games back of the Bills and Chargers. Let them scurry for that wild card. Titans are 1 Henry injury away from being a very bad football team and the way they overuse him they are really tempting fate. Plus they are a team th at always drops games to a few teams they should beat year in and year out. Their losses will come. -
10/17 Bengals at Poe-Birds 1 pm EST on CBS

When he was drafted I didn't think Burrow would pan out. He's changing my mind. Would love to see the Bengals beat those rat birds, but don't see it happening. -
More evidence that nothing good ever comes from a Cole Beasley Tweet.

I love me some Miles Sanders. I do believe he would upgrade the RB room and would love to have him. That said, our offense doesn't believe the RB position exists. We DO have checkdown options (Beasley and Knox fill this role in many plays). We also have a offensive coordinator that hates calling run plays unless it's a QB run. Motor is averaging a sleek 5.2 yards a carry. That's not bad at all. But we go long stretches where it's all pass all the time...except for a few Allen deaigned runs in there. And a lot of the run plays that do happen take place because Allen audibles into them. I would love to have Sanders but I feel like he would be another toy that Daboll wouldn't use.

Disagree. Engram might be an improvement at TE2 but hasn't been healthy all year. We really need another TE in and out of the lineup? Beckham doesn't even improve his own team. He's also playing this year with pretty major injuries. And again isn't anything above WR3 on this team...and possibly 4th in the pecking order once Knox is back. And is he better on the field than Beasley as a 5th option? Debatable. Would rather see them actually use Gabe Davis if Beasley isn't it.

Thursday nite football: Broncos at Browns
BuffaloBillyG replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Wasn't it last year we started out running poorly as well when we had Lee Smith inactive? Then we activated him and could move the ball on the ground with some success? I kinda miss Lee Smith right about now. -
Neither, actually. Engram: I do like his speed. As a TE he's a match up nightmare...when he plays. That's been and continues to be his issue. Beckham isn't the player he once was and frankly I don't see him as anything above the #3 WR here if he was a Bill behind Diggs and Sanders.
