Around the NFL - Week 16 (12/22/2024) (*no Bills talk, please!*)

Because many don't. There are casual fans that may not know the rules. Also, there are PLAYERS that don't understand the rules. For example, there was a game quite a few years back where the Eagles and Bengals (I believe it was Cincinnati) played an overtime game that ended in a tie. Donovan McNabb at the end of overtime let the clock expire rather than try a Hail Mary. When questioned, he said he never heard of a game ending in a tie. Thought there would just be another OT period. -

I agree. They did and they did better stopping him. But running it limits Kenny's mistakes, runs the clock, shortens the game...and Barkley can easily still slip through and break one. The Eagles will win this one but it should have been over long ago. -

If the Eagles kept feeding Barkley this game wouldn't even be close. Letting Pickett throw this often late in a close game is coaching malpractice. -

**BREAKING RUMOR*** Kyler Murray to miss the second half of Card/Panthers game. Santa reportedly called him back to the toy shop to help make last minute Christmas gifts. -

This is not hyperbole. Doritos Thompson Robinson is the worst QB I have ever seen in my life. And that includes High School games. -
12/22/24 GAMEDAY Week 15 Bills vs Patriots* Game day Thread

They had Mayo waiting in the wings for a while. There was no way they were passing him up for Vrabel. Now, Vrabel would make would make even less sense. They got rid of BB, but kept a lot of the Patriot Way intact. Makes no sense to me. I think if they move on from Mayo, they need to go in a different direction completely and build back up. -

Mayo to return unless the Pats do some Free Falling. Patriots schedule: Bills, Chargers, Bills. Cue Tom Petty. -

All I really want is the Bills to come out injury free and have a stress free Sunday where the Bills jump on a bad team and push the gas. Look like a Championship caliber team and pad Josh's MVP stats. Can't start slow and let even bad divisional opponents hang around. Boots on necks all day. -
If I had a vote it would be between O'Connell of Minnesota and Gannon of Arizona who is another guy I think has done a tremendous job.

Penix officially replaces Kirk Cousins in ATL

Raiders and Titans I could totally see. I would even throw the Giants in the mix. I don't see him taking a backup role with Washington. After what he's put on tape this year, he could just as easily price himself out of what teams think he's worth and end up on an NFL morning show like Matt Ryan by next year. -
CJ Stroud's uncontrollable crying.....

You know, it's takes like this that normalize the idea that men aren't allowed to show emotions or have feelings. Just push the emotion down, "rub some dirt on it, man up and soldier on". Then that same brush will paint men as being cold and uncaring. We tend to forget that these are still by and large very young men that play this game. And these young men have a life and things that happen away from the game that may influence them. Seeing his best buddy have such a gruesome injury right in front of him and knowing how hard Dell worked to get back to football after last year has to feel devastating. Let the man feel his emotions. I get it, these are supposed to be modern day gladiators. Often athletes get dehumanized, almost like they are just AI generated characters that exist solely for football and our entertainment. Especially in football where players faces are covered by a face mask. Maybe it's the holiday season tugging at this old guy's heart, but can we allow people to process their own emotions, thoughts and feelings in their own way without trying to persecute them?
