Bills have the highest pressure/hurry rate in the NFL??
BuffaloBillyG replied to Big Turk's topic in The Stadium Wall
It would be more value to see what the result of the play as on those pressures. Just getting close means little. Sure, it helps but if it doesn't result in a negative play it's a moot point. It's kind of like me saying "I flirted with the most ladies at the bar this week". If I still went home alone it doesn't really matter.- 47 replies

A Few Thoughts about the Saints Game, in no particular order
BuffaloBillyG replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
I can try and post. Never have had much success with posting outside media😂 http://<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Ball security includes judgment of kick and punt return opportunities, muffed punts/kicks in practice and games. They clearly are not happy with him in this area. It was a big reason he was released by his previous team before coming to the Bills</p>— Joe Buscaglia (@JoeBuscaglia) <a href="https://twitter.com/JoeBuscaglia/status/1464034497326895105?ref_src=twsrc^tfw">November 26, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> http://<blockquote class="twitter-tweet"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Beasley is playing. They don't trust McKenzie on offense anymore as his snap count has been dwindling when the game isn't a blowout. That play was a huge turning point and the third ball security issue he's had in a game, let alone a few too many muffed kicks/punts in practice</p>— Joe Buscaglia (@JoeBuscaglia) <a href="https://twitter.com/JoeBuscaglia/status/1463987981438664716?ref_src=twsrc^tfw">November 25, 2021</a></blockquote> <script async src="https://platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script> -
Cool. Now tell the story of what happened the following week when they went to Pittsburgh. Paint the whole picture, remember?

A Few Thoughts about the Saints Game, in no particular order
BuffaloBillyG replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall
Couple things: Re: McK: Joe B talked on Twitter a bit about his fumbling issues being more than what we see in games. Said he's made it a habit of putting the ball on the ground in practice as well to the point where coaches no longer trust him even on offense. Re: Knox: Man, this is just one tough dude. Great red zone threat. His next steps should be to see more action between the 20s. As a security blanket with the way teams have defended the pass there is no reason he shouldn't see between 6-10 targets a game. -
Yes, the popular group think is that Billy is a genius that has unparalleled knowledge of offense, defense and special teams. Knower of all. Sees everything. Rather omnipotent... I believe he gets far too much credit. This isn't too say he's a terrible coach. Same guy that knows everything and still can't draft well. He has never done well without having a super strong staff behind him. Guys that are great at their job. And not everyone is a good head coach. I said as much in my post. We see it year in and year out with all these amazing coordinators from every coaching tree. Remember when Matt Nagy was the next big thing? Adam Gase? Anthony Lynn perhaps? He's a fortunate man, who landed in a great spot.

Belichick's greatest attribute is putting together a solid staff. Goes all the way back to Weis and Crennel. After they left...how long did the Pats miss the Super Bowl for? He's had excellent people under him that do their job extremely well, get promoted to HC, fail and come crawling back to what they do best. Had McDaniels taken that Indy job years ago they would have missed out again. BB has made poor decision after poor decision in games for decades and has been bailed out by Tom Brady and by star players that took a lesser deal to play with Tom Brady. Belichick was in the right place at the right time. He was an all time great defensive coordinator though.

Christian McCaffrey out for the season
BuffaloBillyG replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He's been way over worked in his career. He would thrive in a RBBC set up. Give him 12-14 touches a game. Unfortunately he's priced himself out of that role. Yet another prime example of not giving a RB that huge payday. -
Dane Jackson's birthday as well.
-
Well, they don't play typical football either. They have a lot of backyard football elements to their ream. It's what happens when you have an Athelete at the QB position. Don't get me wrong, Jackson is an extraordinary athlete. A weapon capable of winning games by himself. But committing to that style of player often leads to an unsustainable path.

Shocked Diggs didn't draw a penalty for assaulting the defenders hand with his arse.

Have to add Bolden to that mix as well. We have seen before where we stop the Pats running game only to see them bring in Burkhead, White or whomever their pass catching RB is and nickel and dime us to death that way as an extension of the running game. And while Harris is a good back, Stevenson is the one I'm most worried about. Kid's like a mini King Henry when he gets going. Very tough to tackle.

Like with many things, the thought process over time on turnovers has been simplified and dumbed down to the simplest form. It's either black or white. However there are many times that a turnover is meaningless. If we're sitting at 3rd and 20 near mid field and Josh hucks one downfield into triple coverage is that a bad INT? No, not in my opinion. It's the same as a punt (maybe better since it wouldn't be a touchback) and you get the chance at a big play be it a catch or PI. My old coach called that a "smart" turnover. Same with an INT on an end of the half hail mary. Meaningless. I believe the better stat is "points off turnovers". Yeah, Motor can fumble...but if the defense does it's job it's a footnote.

Harrison Phillips playing through torn PCL
BuffaloBillyG replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
Tells ya exactly how much stock to take in the weekly "injury report". Also at is a nice reminder that not matter how well Joe Fan feels like they are informed on what's happening with the team...we know absolutely nothing. The only questions I have from this is if his PCL is partially torn...why is he practicing fully? Rest days during the weekly might be a good idea. -
You make some very valid and reasonable points. The things that you hope to see are justified. However in all reality there is only 1 thing I need to see. 1. Bills outscore Patriots. Just win. Last night Lamar tossed 4 INTs. Baltimore still won. Last week the Ravens were down Lamar and Hollywood. Baltimore still won. They have had approx 317 running backs tear an ACL this year. Still winning. It always looks ugly. But they find ways. That's all that matters. Buffalo can play ugly, mistake filled football. Turn the ball over several times. As long as they win. No extra points for pretty in this league.

His QB doesn't block for him. Over a 3 year span as their starter Bortles actually accounted 86TDs and 13,011 yards. More than enough production to take the heat off the running game. The team also made an AFC Championship game (beating our Bills on the way.) Paint the whole picture please.

What teams do you fear playing in the PLAYOFFS the most?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Estro's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't fear any team. But I do respect the difficulties they would have in the post season against any of them. I think this year the Bills could beat anyone in front of them. I also believe they could lose to any team. Pros/coms listed for each team. 1. Chiefs: Pro: We have shown an ability to beat them and are one of the few teams that could match then point for point. Andy Reid is (despite winning a SB) very prone to post season failure. Con: they have a multitude of weapons and have Super Bowl/big game experience. 2. Colts: Pro: REVENGE. You think after the absolute punch in the mouth they gave us this team wouldn't be pumped for a rematch? I would be. Wentz is their QB and Reich is a good coach that tends to gamble a bit...sometimes it blows up in his face. Con: Jonathan Taylor would likely be playing. 3. Bengals: Pro: While talented they still seem a year off from being a serious contender. Their defense is average. Con: Burrow is far better than I thought he would be. Mixon and Chase are also dangerous in that offense. 4. Pats: Pro: Rookie QB in the post season...I'll take that matchup any time. I think McD and Frazier can throw enough at him to confuse and force some mistakes. Con: Strong running game (Stevenson would have looked great in a Bills uni) and solid defense. McDaniels always has a solid game plan. 5. Browns: Pro: Lack of talent at WR. Defense is good but prone to meltdowns. Con: Possibly the worst matchup the Bills may see. 2 really good RBs (3 if you count Johnson). Physical and talented offensive line and a fact tough defense. 6. Titans: Pro: we already know we can hang with a healthy Tennessee team. Didn't get the luxury of playing them without Henry/Jones/Brown. Tannehill is trash. Cons: Brown and Jones are healing and Henry is expected back for the playoffs. Henry getting hurt I believe actually HELPS the Tacks come postseason as he will be fresh and healthy imstead of over used for a full 17 game schedule. 7. Ravens: Pro: Mistake prone. Sloppy play. Outside of Lamar they have nothing to worry about it RB. Defense is very unRaven like this year. Their luck will run out soon. Cons: They just keep finding ways to win. Record setting FG against Detroit. Missing Lamar and Hollywood Brown? Still a win somehow. 8. Raiders/Chargers/Steelers/Broncos: Pro: All are extremely inconsistent. None are really "playoff teams" but 1 of them may make the post season due to the expanded playoffs. Cons: Cinderella gets lucky sometimes. -
You don't say???? And here in Buffalo with our oline he would look more like the Fournette in Jacksonville. Fix the line and Motor would look much more competitent

11/28 Football: Tennessee @ New England 1 pm on CBS
BuffaloBillyG replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'd say the truth is more "The Titans have a much better offensive line", however I agree....hoping to see an upgrade at RB next year. Wonder how the rumored pick of ETN would have done for the Bills if he stayed healthy. -

I'm LOVING this game. Let Jones stack those stats. They will be the talk of the NFL all week. Belichick's rings will be kissed...Jones is the next Brady talk on overdrive...Pats are the team to beat talk....won SIX in a row....then we rip their damn soul out on MNF. All while seeing the Titans drop out of the #1 seed. -
Around the NFL This Sunday 11/28 (Bills mini-bye)
BuffaloBillyG replied to Hapless Bills Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall
Valid point, but using the same logic Jones, Judon and 3/5ths of the Patriots oline may have COVID instead. Maybe Brady and his WRs catch it before our game with them. Total crapshoot. However I actually think with a good game plan, a week to prep and a dash of good fortune...Trubisky could beat these Pats.
