But the Bills DID do that for Allen early on. They brought in vets like Beasley and Brown. Made the big Diggs trade. The issue has been that when we lost one of these guys we replaced them with a guy that's just not quite as good.

Beat the Chiefs Sunday and I think you’re back in first

Both Penix and London missed the game. Sometimes it's not who you play, but when you play them that matters -
Came here to say that. I'll throw in Mad Max too. I have a gut feeling he makes some big plays.

Steelers ownership growing frustrated with Tomlin

Yeah, I think here he would be more or less a lateral move. But a team like the Dolphins? Yeah they need a guy like him to reset that culture. -
I have a hypothesis re: Allen that checks a couple boxes

Wants? Absolutely. But I don't think it's as important to him as it was a year or two ago. -

I mean, same can be said for him getting married to a woman that can open all kinds of doors for his future. Look, at one point I think Josh saw himself as just a football player. I wouldn't doubt if his goals were a long the lines of player-> analyst -> retired. Now I think he can see there are more important things than football. A family. A career AFTER football that doesn't involve the NFL. He's quickly become probably the most recognizable and most marketed player in the NFL. And he knows he can get those things and live a long, happy successful life with or without a Super Bowl ring. -
Blue jersey's, white pants for the Chiefs

When you have a color combo as amazing as the Cleveland Browns you just have to mimic that as much as possible. I kinda like the leather helmet look. REALLY want to see one of their guys with the concussion cap over that. -
Rare opportunity to see Joe, Jim & Josh at the game!

Joe Ferguson was my favorite Bills QB before Allen. This is a VERY rare appearance by him. -
"Billy, these are Josh Allen and Tua Tagovailoa. Josh has possibly the strongest arm in NFL history. Tua has a noodle arm and can't throw more than 25 yards but is pinpoint accurate. So we will give Allen slow receivers that can't separate and Tua blazing fast receivers that can get open deep down field."

He's actually said the direct opposite. Here's the thing, for this year I think the NEED to stick with Prater. They walked into an excellent situation with him being available. But he will be a year older next season. I think Bass factors more into the future. Let him rest and get his head right. Then, in TC next year...make him earn it. Bring in another kicker. Be it Prater again or another guy. The last thing you want is to play musical chairs with the K spot because there are so many bad ones out there.

And that's fair. There is a discussion to be had about what is better. Failing yearly but getting close or failing yearly and ending up with a shot at better talent in the draft to retool and be better. It comes down to personal choice. I compared it earlier in the thread to the Marvin Lewis era Bengals and the Giants. The Bengals were always in the playoffs, but never achieved the ultimate goal. Was that a success? On some level, yes it was. They were consistently a good team. The Giants on the other hand were either a laughing stick or Super Bowl Champs. Was that a success? On some levels, yes. I, myself would trade any one of those "we were good but not good enough" seasons for a 6-11 season where we landed a premier player. Of course, thats hindsight being 20/20and not in the moment.

Apples and oranges. If we are talking baseball, many guys have had long and lucrative careers hitting an occasional HR and striking out a lot. Ask Steve "Bye-Bye" Balboni. If we are talking football, the occasional missed playoffs help teams aquire higher rates players through the draft. Ask Jamar Chase. Is it better to make the playoffs 10 years in a row and get bounced or miss the playoffs 8 out of 10 years, but win a Super Bowl the two years you do go? Ask Marvin Lewis and the NY Giants.

For Cincy, it's worked better than our formula has. They have at least gotten past KC and made a Super Bowl once. It possibly would have been better had Burrow not been injured as often as he has. Dallas has also dealt with injury to their starting QB that's hampered them. But the Cowboys and Bills have played in the same amount of Super Bowls during this stretch, so the results have been the same. I know what you are looking for with the question about Philly. But the answer is actually different. Hurts was their most IMPORTANT player. Barkley was their most productive player. There is a difference. See this year for the Bills. Cook has been our most productive player...while Allen remain the most important.

Gabe Davis Finally activated to PS

I do agree here. The value the Bills put of run blocking WRs may be higher than any other team. I do think they need to readjust their thinking a bit. With what Hawes brings to the table as well as Kincaid improving as a blocker running 2 or 3 TE sets is, I believe, our best group personnel wise. The trick is that those WRs that run block well HAVE to also be adept at getting open and catching the ball because if they aren't it tips off that a run play is coming when they are on the field. Gabe can do that. Mack did that. Keon struggles at it. Shavers struggles at that.
