And that's absolutely fine. However what I have seen this year from this team tells me that we are in for more of the same. This team....there is something really off about it from last season and even the year before. This doesn't seem like the same group of guys that hit the field and played for the guy next to them. I don't know if it's just a change in attitudes being a preseason favorite or if there is some levels of disconnect with the players in the locker room or something completely different. But this looks way more like a team that is about to go off the rails than a team that will pull together and play with heart.

Yes, I should have worded that differently. The whole Chief team was struggling. Not just Mahomes. And really, I don't give a red rats arse who anyone else has beaten and when. Wasn't what I was talking about. Let their fans worry about that. But since you bring it up..that same Tannehill is a QB that beat us. You know, along with Wentz and Ben's corpse. Let's not get too cocky there. And yes, 5 weeks from now anything "could" happen. The anything "could" happen was the mantra of the drought years. Let's use a bit of common sense here..again...since winning in KC this team has been sub .500. Just lost one of our best players. Have shown we do not have the ability/players to fix what's broken on this team. The actual "bottom line" here is that's called "trending down".

I'm typically pretty optimistic. However some I'm starting to see the writing on them wall for this season. We beat teams QB'd by Heineke and Mahomes (during periods they were struggling) Tua, Brissett, Seimen, Mike White and Davis Mills. Hardly a murders row. Since the KC game this team is a sub .500 team. But injuries...right? That's a cop out excuse to me. Believe it or not...injuries happen to every team. The Cards kept winning without Kylar, D-Hop, Chase Edmunds...ect. The Bucs have been missing Gronk, Brown, Marpet and their whole secondary. Still won. Heck the Raiders are down their HC and most explosive offensive weapon and still finding wins. Titans have been missing players, the Ravens lost every RB in a 3 mile radius to their facility, Browns still in the hunt after losing Kareem and Chubb for bits and playing a 1 armed Mayfield....but yea we can't win without Feliciano and Star. This team is not built well. Let's face that fact. We have 2nd string level guys as starters at key positions...so when they get hurt and drop down the talent level is far below what should be on the field. On top of that we cannot run/stop the run. Haven't been able to close out close games. We are a 1 dimensional broken offense that cannot consistently cash in when in the red zone or get great starting field position. But yea, we can just reel off wins from here on out no matter what. 🙄

Leslie Frazier in the mix for Bears HC?
BuffaloBillyG replied to JohnNord's topic in The Stadium Wall
As long as he takes Bobby Johnson with him I'm ok with it. -
You are correct to an extent, however how correct will never be known. When we signed Feliciano at became very well known that he was brought in because Bobby Johnson went to bat for him. They had worked together before and Johnson LOVED Feliciano. I find it rather hard to believe that Daboll gets zero say so on personal but Johnson did. For all we know Motor, Moss, the linemen...were all requested by Daboll.

Sherman had been an absolute liability out there before getting hurt. Kinda happy he's back. Allen had no trouble with him last time they faced off.

I know this will be an unpopular opinion around these parts...however looking objectively at it...Tom Brady is the MVP this year and it's not even CLOSE. 6 games tossing for over 300 (over 400 in 2 of those). 6 games with 4+ TD passes in a game (5 in 2 of those) while leading the team to a 9-3 record. All at the ripe age of 44. Yes, he has a good line and some great weapons. He has also been without his 2 favorite targets (Gronk and Brown) for long stretches of time. At this point in the season I believe Josh Allen is closer to not receiving a single MVP vote then he is winning it. This is not to say he's playing bad. However team record and the inability to pull off close games on a national stage (Tenn, NE) will absolutely hurt him in voters eyes. The would have to be almost flawless headed down the stretch to climb back into it.

Zach Cunningham released (Update : Claimed by the Titans)

AJ Klein say hello😂 He wouldn't upgrade Edmunds but he may upgrade Klein -
Yes, I stated he was 0-7. And Buffalo having that franchise QB is what makes the standards so much higher than what Lewis had. Winning a playoff game or 2 is not the goal when you have "that guy" at the QB position. They know the standard is now "Championship Caliber" and if they fail to meet that it's fair to hold them accountable.
-
Right now I see the Bills as a little more than Marvin Lewis's Bengals. Good enough for the playoffs...then who knows. Lewis was great at getting there...0-7 once the playoffs started. While at the very least McDermott has won a couple playoff games...everything being "relatively ok" really isn't the acceptable standard here anymore.

Good "between the tackles" LBer. Would really be an upgrade on AJ Klein's spot more than anything if he has anything left. -
Until you get a reputation as a guy that flops and begs for flags and the refs no longer give you the benefit of the doubt. And it's not just Allen. It's most QBs in the NFL, it's every WR looking for PI on a routine incomplete.

AP is with Seattle and much like Gurley is really broken down. Honestly would rather have Frank Gore than either of them...and I don't want Gore at all. Guys like Gurley...there are reasons why they are sitting home instead of even taking a spot on someone's practice squad. RBs tend to nosedive fast when they hit that wall. Getting a new RB (short of Barry Sanders in his prime) and playing him behind this line would be like buying a brand new motor for a car after you just drove it off a cliff. Even with a shiney new addition...it's not going anywhere.

I get what you are saying, I really do and agree that some things need to be fixed. Gilliam has been injured. He was actually one of my picks for guys that many surprise this year. They haven't used him when healthy. Williams...we as fans have no clue. He looked good on that game against a Miami team that was as checked out mentally as they could be...however that was a while back and it looks as he hasn't built upon it. With trade deadline passing and Buffalo having very little cap space to work with right now...signing street FAs or poaching someone off a practice squad aren't really possible either. We have who we have and will obviously need upgrades in the off season. My worry there is when its comes to Beane and offensive linemen, he seems content go after the Bobby Harts of the NFL and not players that are going to move the needle. There were a TON of starting caliber linemen available last off season. Beane's decision to "run it back" with our own players was a huge mistake and turned a possible Super Bowl season into what is likely going to be a lost year.

It's the "holier-than-thou" attitude for me. Man, you sound as whiney and butthurt as the players these days. My main point is if you are going to have a thought...great. But know what you are talking about. It really does invalidate your whole suggestion if you aren't even aware of who you are suggesting gets a shot. On to your point: Fans just LOVE making suggestions that teams should do something else. Great. However you also have to accecpt the facts that there are reasons that you and I aren't privy to that coaches play who they do and bench who they do. If Williams has shown any abilities that would lead the staff to believe he's an upgrade...he would play. Oh and they have tried something different. Pulled Breida on the game day roster. How's that been? We have had all kinds of line combinations this year...how's that worked out? The mistakes were made in the offseason by hoping everyone would take a step forward on the line and in the backfield after another offseason together. Plan failed. Beane failed. Nothing really will improve that. Putting in (who coaches feel are) lesser players and hoping it some leads to improvements isn't a great plan.

Gameday Bills vs Pats* Postgame Thread
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
In the last few offseasons we have lost guys like Shaq Lawson, Jordan Phillips, John Brown and Matt Barkley. While it may be true that these guys don't offer much on the field they were guys that you could physically see were well liked, kept the vibe light and kept the mood upbeat in the locker room. Last core locker room leaders like Kyle Williams and Zo. None of that has been replaced. This season's team just doesn't seem to have gelled like in years past. -

Has has steadily said this for 2 years. That's not up for debate. Go watch his pressers starting from last offseason. Billy Houseman...you a troll. And not a good one. I suggest you study up some of FilthyBeast's posts. Become the best version of your trollful little self! -
Yes, fresh meat to run into the arses of our guards who got blown 3 yards into the backfield.

He has literally said the opposite. Many times. You obviously have an issue with listening comprehension. -

Except he's never said he wants to be ground and pound. Still acknowledged that you have to throw the ball amd score points. He wants a team that CAN run the ball...not one that's ALWAYS runs the ball. And that's really not different than 31 other head coaches in the NFL. Was reported that Sully asked Hyde and Power that. Haven't seen it attributed to Schoop....but wouldn't he have been doing his post game show during that presser?
