Train Horn Haters - Alternate Ideas?

Half the time they don't watch the game. People around me come about halfway through 1st quarter...head back out about midway through 2nd quarter for more beer and don't seem them again until late in the 4th or until the following game. To the younger crowd it seems the game day experiece is all about paying for overpriced beer instead of the actual game. -
What happens in today's game that are "small wins" for the Bills?

At this point I'll be impressed if Daboll doesn't have nacho cheese in his beard the entire 2nd half. -

Week 14 Gameday Bills at Buccaneers Pregame thread
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
In my opinion this is about as close to a crossroads game as we have seen in years. While mathematically Buffalo is still ok with a loss the tone of the players and McDermott after last weeks loss feels (at least to me) like another loss this week and we start to see the wheels come off for this season. I would have to think that the defense is a little tired of losing games this year when they give up 14 points or 9 points. That shouldn't happen when you have Josh Allen at QB. Diggs at WR. A win here and maybe they pull together and claw their way to a division title. A loss here puts them 2 full games behind New England. I know the feeling amoung many fans will be "Same old Bills" and it's fair to wonder if a loss would have players thinking "here we got again". Don't get it twisted...this game is huge for the Bills both in the standings and for their psyche. Let's hope for the best! Go Bills! -
Yes, I mean when that thought process previously brought you Kelvin Benjamin you just have to keep repeating it.
-
Hopping he spent his time away chain eating McDonalds and put that 20lbs back on😂 Wouldn't mind if they try and stack Douglas on the PS if he clears.
-
Agree, but they have to consider everything they see all the way back to camp. Also when you look at someone like McKenzie, I'm sure he fields punts every practice. If he muffing a lot there? A lot to consider that we just have no way of knowing. I will say that as far as fumbles...McKenzie has had issues. Breida has had issues. Singletary has had issues. Either these guys are not coachable or do not have the ability to improve or coaches aren't working enough on ball security with them IMO.
-
Yes and no. If it's just the fumbles we see on game days then yea...likely overthinking and an over reaction. If the coaches are seeing them fumble all through the week in practice and it shows up in games then it'a 100% the correct call to get those players out of the lineup.
-
Yea, kinda dumb story telling there but it's not wrong. The one thing I am not sure about (and really no way of knowing) is when they mention deactivating McK leading to no options for the end around or screen game. I think they may have had ideas to run some of that with Breida doing some jet sweeps stuff (he ran some of the in the Green Bay preseason game) and some screens to Sanders. Those plans (if they had them) died when Breida fumbled and Sanders got obliterated on the 1st or 2nd play of their opening drive on a screen.

Honestly, Jacksonville would be a good spot for him. A young QB to develop and some really good young pieces on that offense. Normally I would say putting up only 6 points on them might turn them off...but it is the Jags and common sense isn't their strong suit. I remember the Eagles bringing in. Chip Kelly. I remember the Dolphins bringing in Saben. I remember the Redskins bringing in Steve Spurrier. Give it another year and add Matt Rhule to the list.

Urban and Culley could both be 1 and done. Going to be a lot of openings come the end of the season.

Primary Cause of Bills losing to Patriots/Colts/Titans/Steelers
BuffaloBillyG replied to Chaos's topic in The Stadium Wall
They scored less points than their opponents. That is the reason they lost. -
Sorry for your loss,Yolo. Wishing the best for you and your family. That said, welcome back. Go Bills.

Good thing it didn't hit Ko Simpson. He's worth millions. -
By your assertion we were "4-5 plays" away from 11-1. Two ssues with that line of thought. 1. Every time we have needed "a play" we fail to convert. 2. The games we needed "a play" should never have come down to needing 1 magic play at the end. That's what happens to bad teams...not yeams the played in the AFC Championship Game. Since that game the Bills made almost zero improvements. They have stayed predictable. Since beating KC this is a 3-4 football team. Sub .500. We haven't converted plays simply because we do not have players talented enough to complete the task. Sanders started strong...looks his age now. Beasley has battled injury and is very inconsistant this year. Other than Allen and Diggs on offense there is not 1 players that can be counted on week in and week out. Other than Allen and Diggs we have no gamebreaking talent on offense. Knox flashed well but since the hand injury has reverted back to Drop some. He's also a guy that disappears between the 20s. Gabe Davis is a playmaker but plays limited snaps. The line is atrocious on their best day. Bobby Hart and Forrest Lamp weren't the answer. Who would have thought. Can't run the ball, have difficulties scoring in the red zone and seem to commit penalties every chance they get. The defense plays hard but again has no big play guys. Milano has been average since his injury. We have no one that's can get too the QB. Miss me with the "pressures are just as good as sacks" line of thought. You need BOTH. We have invested many high draft picks and 10s of millions of dollars this position group...only to rotate them through every possession and got low snaps for each big investment. Just a dumb philosophy IMO. Let your best players PLAY. This team and the personal have taken a large step back. We have gone from expectations of a deep playoff run to using the ESPN Playoff Calculator to try and see ways we will MAKE the playoffs. Every single decision personal wise they have made since the close of last season has backfired with the possible exception of Groot...but he needs to take a bit step forward next year. No, I'm not saying to fire everyone (Bobby Johnson and Daboll leaving wouldn't make me cry though). However a 1 and done this post season would make me preheat that hot seat headed into next year. And unless steps forward are taken in 2022...let the search begin.

Yes he is on PS and would need to be called up. I believe you get too call up a player 3 times before you have to either keep him on active roster or keep him on PS for the season. But not 100% positive. -
I think it's more about Taylor then seeing Davis. They got a good long look at Davis this year and were so unimpressed they threw Tyrod back as soon as they could. Of course the extra game will be nice to see if he learned anything. Brandon Beane used to refer to Tyrod as a "Steady-Eddie" because he rarely turned the ball over. While not a great player his ball security made him invaluable to a rebuilding team. Since coming off injury he's tossed quite a few picks. Easy to bench him now. By and large, Davis isn't bad. He's not good either so far. Honestly...I feel like he's who many though Mac Jones would be. Some solid flashes. Game manager type. Many "welcome to the NFL" moments.

Doea he get a say so on this decision?😂😂

I'm not disagreeing with you. And Cook especially is a magnificent back. I claimed before the season he was a top 3 and got laughed at. I really wouldn't be shocked if this week Williams was active over Moss possibly Breida. -
One thing I have learned in my years on this planet is that an unhealthy or unstable work environment will more times then not have an effect on productivity. Doesn't matter if your work at Burger King, a factory, an office or even in a professional sports league. In some aspects it's one of the few common demonators that tie society together. I don't think it's a stretch to say that there is something different about this years team. Again, not sure and not way of knowing if it's player conflicts in the locker room (we did see 1 semi play out on Twitter between Beasley and Hughes, though) coaching/the front office or what may be going on. Players get close. They have fun. Their wives form friendships and kids play together. When players like John Brown, Matt Barkley, Lawson, Jordan Phillips ect get replaced...you can't replace the person. And yes, it does effect the team chemistry. Those guys seem (again from an outsiders perspective) to be they type of guys that made coming to work fun. And it really doesn't seem like we have had those stable vets to take the place of guys like Zo or Kyle Williams to keep the team in a good mindspace.

Why? So Daboll and McD can give him a 30% snap share? Project Singletary's numbers out and he has the production of a top 10 back.
