  1. Am I seeing that right that we don't play back to back away games all year except for Phiily and KC... which is split by a bye week? And a LATE season bye week? Really like that. Don't like being on the road in Mia week 18...but it won't be 125 degrees on our sideline and hopefully we have things wrapped up in the East by then anyway.
  2. I hear we are trading Kincaid for DHop and Ertz.
  3. Just wait. The NFL hired new script writers for this season. I heard a preview that says Justin Herbert will get the Chargers to the playoffs, only to knock up Jackson Mahomes causing BOTH the Chargers and Chiefs to have too much drama and lose playoff games. Meanwhile we find out that Joe Burrow is not really Joe Burrow, but his evil twin Moe Burrow. Where is the real Joe Burrow? Tune in next season as Aaron Rodgers retreats to the darkness to seek answers to that and more....on Soap.
  4. That was the talk earlier in the off-season. Not sure that still happens now. Miami drafted Devon Achane and the report was he was the guy McDaniel was pounding the table for. Not sure they sink more assets into the RB room. I think if the Vikings are going to release him doing it now after FA and the draft is really doing him dirty as many teams have set themselves up at RB.
  5. There's been talk of that all off-season. Not sure how it plays out at this point (might he take a pay slash to stay in Minny? Who knows.) However I feel pretty confident in saying that should he become available I don't see Beane being in pursuit. Great player when healthy..but chronic shoulder issues are adding up. It would sink more resources into a room that should be improved already.
  6. LOVE it! Last year we were the toast of the NFL in the preseason and first month of the season. Every team brought their "A" game. I'm hoping that this year it's the Bills that get a chip on their shoulder and play to prove something. I mean, Acho is an idiot and just says things to get attention. But I do think a LOT of media will be off the Bills bandwagon this year.
  7. Opa, looks like someone came back. Must have got that new Fisher Price Speak and Say with WiFi ability. The cow says "moo," Jimmy. The cow says "moo".
  8. You say $1.3M like that's a high end deal. It's really not. The Bills cut OJ Howard after one TC and ate around $3M in dead cap alone. As far as "Going against what he said"...2 points to make there. First, you do realize that when players do these press conferences they are just saying what needs to be said, right? Hitting the checklist so to speak. "Play in front of the best fans in the NFL" or "Win a ring"...these are things that get the fans to say "Oh I like this dude". Second, players have lives, hopes and goals outside of a football field. Sounds weird...but like us they are more than their job. Is his priority carrying a football or setting himself up for life after football? I have no idea what his mindset is....but neither do you. Murray has also eluded to his goals in the local community. This Center he's opening is proof of that and him trying to plant roots around here. As far as am I making stuff up...well, I have said that I am going by a gut feeling. So, in a sense of the word, yeah...it's kind of what people do on a message board. Offer their read on a situation. Also, there have been quite a few times where a player on the PS will turn down an offer for a roster spot with another team to stay where they are. This isn't unheard of. Especially when it's something the team has discussed with a player and laid a plan out before hand. The Bills would also have the option to elevate Murray to the active roster should another team try and poach him. Last year he started out on the Saints PS. Shows he's open to a practice squad slot, does it not? Further more, should another team come sniffing around for him The Bills have the option to elevate him off the PS to the active roster to block it. The Saints chose not to last year when the Broncos came for him. And the Broncos came after him only when they lost...what 4 RBs before that? And not one other team had come after him before that.
  9. Few things stood out for me: - I love how involved Terry Pegula is without taking control. He's knowledgeable but lets his football guys make the decision. - I realize footage can be spliced anyway they want it and I am certain a lot hit the cutting room floor....but Beane has a real good feel for the way boards will fall. - On one of the plays they show for Torrence they show him pulling and leading a run play. Maybe not as nimble as some...but gets to his spot and seals off a wall. Great play. - Hard not to like Dorian Williams as a person. Skepticism aside...he will be one that's easy to root for. I think he'll surprise some here. - Everytime I hear Beane talk about Shorter I can't help but to think of things he had to say about Hodgins last year. Likes the size AND that he can play ST...which is one big reason Hodgins was expendable to them. - Torrence has a cat named CeeCee.
  10. I swear everytime this thread gets bumped my initial reaction is "Oh, FFS what is it now?"
  11. Like I said, just a gut feeling, but I think he's in the 'more than football" stage of his career. They very well may have given him a slightly higher guarantee to get him to agree to this kind of placement. FWIW, Buffalo did the same IIRC with Duke Johnson last year at the start of the season. Besides, with 3 call-ups and the better than average chance we get injury to the RB room...even if he starts on PS I would figure he'll be moved up by the end of the year. Good way to keep the old guy fresh as well haha
  12. Could very well be. However with his off field endeavors, I could honestly see him turning down an active spot with another team to stay here and get that underway and running. Hence the "wink and nod" where if there is a roster spot needed he's one to get put on PS with the mutual understanding that he's staying local.
  13. The bigger question may very well be: If he's cut why would he want to come back and potentially be buried on the Bills depth chart? Have to imagine he would have options for some teams that have a path for him to see the field. CBs are always in demand.
  14. 9:30am? Going to have to start GameDay drinking the night before...
  15. I mean, I do mention that he could very well end up on the roster. However, seems to me more like he would profile as the direct backup to Harris in the power game. As for the part I bolded: It's always a risk to assume a players thought process. We don't know what his train of thought is. Perhaps he wants to be on the field and play every snap he can. Perhaps he wouldn't mind a lighter workload than he had last year as his pursuits aren't limited to just football. Coming back here and already setting up post career avenues was however a clear indicator that he sees a bigger picture than just carrying a football for the next 2-3 years.
  16. Maybe. Not likely, but who knows. Seems like another case of fans projecting what they think into what the Bills may do.
  17. Well, that's the thing these days. Most fans subscribe to the "Fantasy Football Mentality". If a WR or TE isn't lighting up the stat sheet...he's garbage. A lot of guys make real world contributions to the team and game without the stats. Having football players who are good at playing all the nuances of the game still matters.
  18. He does, sure. But Jones was a RB by name only. His spot isn't necessary reserved for a RB...it's going to go to whomever the ST replacement is for him. Could be an extra WR or DB just as easily active on GameDay. Murray doesn't play ST.
  19. Yea, what a horrible type player to have. A guy that works hard, will play whatever snaps he can get and has a team first attitude. I suppose those snaps on ST could just be eaten up by someone like Diggs, put him out there for that crap, right? Or maybe make Allen the first QB/ST Gunner. That's a solid plan. As unpopular as it is with certain portions of a fanbase every roster in the NFL has players like this...because every roster in the NFL NEEDS players like this.
  20. It wouldn't shock me if Murray ended up on the PS. Not saying he won't make the active roster...he definitely can. However, I feel like him coming to Buffalo is more of him seeing a final paycheck before retirement. The added incentive of being able to be home and set up his post career life with outstanding contributions like this that he wants to be a part of and oversee. The bonus would be the Bills would free up a roster spot and have him if injury hits (I like Harris but his health is a question) and he gets time in the local area to set up. If we need him he's there to play and I believe he would play well. Could very well have an understanding and a "wink and nod" agreement with the Bills of this is the case.
  21. The NFL can employ him. There are 32 teams that can sign him. Unfortunately, or fortunately (however you choose to look at it) the position in Buffalo has been filled with a solid player. There isn't an opening here. That leaves 31 other teams that are welcome to bring him in and I hope one does. Buffalo did what they did a year ago because at the time that was the best thing for all parties involved. Time to move on.
  22. I don't care what Allen does, what his social life is like or who he's dating. I'm hoping he took a bit of time and made it out to Jordan Palmer...but it's his life. On another note I see a lot of people that were quick to bag on Baker Mayfield for endorsements and social life defending Josh. Kinda funny actually.
  23. Geary seems more of a White Claw fella to me.
  24. I think week 1 the lineup is: LT: Dawkins LG: McGovern 😄Morse RG: Bates RT: Brown Doyle should get his TE eligible "6th lineman" spot back as he played well there before injury. At some point there will be injury to the IOL, Bates will shuffle to that spot (if it's not him of course) and Torrance takes over RG. Once he gets out there Torrence won't see the bench again. span widget
