  1. Great idea. Are there any guys like that that stand out too you?
  2. Yes, would be really hard for an owner (you know...a colleague of Dan Snyder and Robert Kraft) to explain why they hired asomeone to coach a player (you know, like Kareem Hunt) with a prior history of criminal behavior. Only boy scouts and choir boys allowed in the NFL from here on out
  3. Bull. Look at the rap sheets and misgivings of a great many owners in the NFL. That's ok though. Kraft, Snyder, Irsay, and the list can go on and on. Then look at the players in the NFL. Hunt, Mixon, Hill, Clark, Mike freaking Vick and again...list could go on and on. Holding Bieniemy hostage over his own past is hypocritical, lazy group thinking and a huge cop out. The NFL obviously has no issue having him as an employee. The NFL endorses him year after year as a "recommended candidate" in their Coaching lists they send to all 32 teams. His past is in over argued excuse used by people that can't give a football reason why he isn't hired yet.
  4. That's where I would be at if I were the Ravens GM as well. There is some GM out there thatbis desperate and would love to over pay in a trade. If I'm looking at my situation as Baltimore I would think the bidding for a "young former MVP 1st team All-Pro" could fetch at MINIMUM 3 1sts. Likely a good player or 2 back as well. Then add in NOT having that huge contract and you would have the ability between picks and cap savings to retool both sides of the ball. Huntley wouldn't be bad for a year or 2. Mariota would possibly do well in that offense.
  5. That is a great theory, however in practice it would never work well. The Texans would, by that rule get a 1st round pick for hiring and firing Culley in less than a 12 month span. What would stop a team from repeating this action for several years? I believe the though process for the losing team getting the picks is being used to be an incentive for not only employing minorities in positions where they are noticed, but also grooming them and giving them the tools to succeed when/if they got their shot. That eliminates the Wilks or Culley issues where those guys seemed unprepared. When we look around the NFL there are 3 minority HCs. Of the 3 the longest tenured by far is Mike Tomlin. Tomlin also often serves as the poster child for "Rooney Rule done right". In all his time as a HC he has not mentored or promoted minority candidates at the same rate as Caucasian coaches, either. In comparison, take someone like Tony Dungy. If you look up his coaching tree about a THIRD of all black HCs in NFL history come from his tutelage...his mentorship. What this tells me is that we are constantly told that the Kevin O'Connell's of the NFL are "the most qualified" man for the job...what we need to ask is "Why". Proper mentorship and helping minority coaches become qualified are why the NFL rewards those picks to the franchise losing the coach. We just need HCs that will guide and mentor.
  6. Honestly though...I do wonder if they hire him if the NFL takes that into consideration when it comes time to award Super Bowls, NFL Draft locations and things of that nature.
  7. Agree to a point about trade value of a pick. I realize there is a trade value spread sheet that fans (and some teams) use, however the value of a high pick is directly related to projected values of a player a team is targeting as well. One idea I have to discourage teams from tanking is a simple yet will never happen formula. Much like the players selected 1-32 have a basic contract value...splot the revenue sharing on a 1-32 scale as well. Team drafting 1st gets lowest share of the financial pie.
  8. No. Doesn't matter where you pick...matters if you got your picks right. Cleveland took Mayfield and Jets took Darnold over Allen. Picking a few slots lower or higher isn't guaranteed anything.
  9. Again, there's no way of knowing how the Dolphins roster shakes out if Brady signs. Your point is based on nothing but speculation of what someone else would think in a given moment. Now if we want to speculate...cool. My speculation was the Brady did NOT believe they were just him away from a Super Bowl. That's why he recruited Gronk when they had 2 good TEs in place. That's why he lobbied for Antonio Brown when they already had Evans and Godwin in place. That's why he was heavy in recruiting Fournette. He signed before they drafted Wirfs who solidified their oline. It's easy to speculate he would have done the same in Miami.
  10. No promise he would have lost in Miami. If he signs there...does Gronk come back? Does he still gets Antonio Brown? Brady was reportedly heavily influencing Fournette to sign there. The defense wasn't terrible. They already had Parker and with Brady, Geiseki would have likely been a factor. Draft picks may have been spent different. It's a lot more to factor into the equation.
  11. What's fun is that in the Wiki page you linked to for your proof...Brian Flores is listed as a notable Afro-Honduran. He's listed under Soccer with American football coach as his description.
  12. Didn't see this posted. Please merge if I missed. Reasons like this are why Harry was our Walter Payton Man of the Year Nominee. Heck of a player...heck of a man.
  13. Well, your takes are certainly consistent. That's for sure.
  14. I'm watching it now and he never even mentions Edmunds when discussing 13 seconds. Says we were out of position presnap. Makes it sounds more like the play called had us out of position...not any certain player not being in position. He does talk about the seam not being covered. However I'm pretty sure that was on the formation and not Edmunds being out of position. They were happy to let KC complete passes over the middle. Preventing sidelines and deep balls. Could you verify for me where he's blasting Edmunds? Not a huge Edmunds supporter myself but if I missed it I'd like to know.
  15. While there does need to be changes made and the person you quoted...to me at least is being a bit overzealous...there should be changes for all minorities IMO. We have 1 Latino and 1 Lebanese Head Coach. However when the debate comes up it's made into a "black/white" issue and not a "white/minority" issue as IMO it should be. 1 black HC is often mentioned...3 total minority HC is often forgotten. 3 out of 32 is still poor and there needs to be improvement. But if the issue is truly about diversity it needs to be diversity for all and not just 1 group of minorities. https://nypost.com/2021/05/22/eugene-chung-nfl-team-said-im-not-right-minority-in-interview/
  16. Gase and Belichick's son can have a weird facial expression competition. Unless Manning is coming with him it's a huge step down from McDaniels
  17. Honestly, I would suggest that his close friendship with Diggs may link him here. Leslie Frazier was also Head Coach of the Vikings when he was drafted there.
  18. I'm pretty sure if they cut him as a post June-1 designation they can split his dead cap over 2 seasons. So possibly factor in an extra 3.5Mish in savings next year for a $5M savings if they can. 700k according to SPOTRAC. Chump change.
  19. The tl;dr version: This NFL hire is brought to you, in part, by Slim Shady. "Y'all act like ya never seen a white coach before..."
  20. Just go to his Twitter and read his replies to people. Comedy gold. At this point Flores would be wise to bribe Jackson $100k to shut up and go away
  21. We heard the same story last year. Here's what's about to happen. Rodgers talk will be intensified. Packers slap the franchise tag on Adams. Packers resign MVS. Rodgers takes it down to the wire for maximum attention. Retirement talk is on the table. Rodgers reports to Packers training camp. Packers lose in playoffs. Added bonus spoiler: Russ Wilson will remain a Seahawk.
  22. Odd thought. Rodgers ends up with the Packers next year.
  23. Pizza Hut is the McDonalds of the pizza world.
  24. Ok so breaking this one down... 1. Nobody is forcing you to subscribe. 2. You don't subscribe for football. 3. You mind being forced to pay for ***** 4. You don't watch. Yea, could you please draw that picture? Maybe you work better in Crayola than in actual words.
