  1. The ending gives it away. "Reid could turn to an old friend in Matt Nagy, who will actually check Andy and collaborate with the offensive coaching staff and listen to his players." The writer of this piece was Matt Nagy. Guy's trying to find a job. Se riously though this whole thing reads like fan fiction.
  2. This is gonna be an amazing offseason, for sure She was wearing blue. He may have had a Lions flashback and cast her into the pit of dispear.
  3. There is a case where Jackson is worth the $40M to the Ravens in a shorter term deal or one that gives them and inexpensive "out" after a couple seasons. I wouldn't, myself. I'd take advantage of some desperate GM. If Watson could grab 3 1sts, someone will start the bidding there for a young former MVP.
  4. I never said that. Just pointed out a likeness.
  5. I predict the NFL goes "All-In" on Allen (catchy slogan) and puts all 17 Bills games on Sunday Night Football.
  6. Seems he has a lot of highly publicized romances that suddenly fall short. Reminds me of a young Rock Hudson's love life.
  7. Which in my view is odd, seeing as how there have been 3, maybe 4 teams win the Super Bowl in the last 15 years with a QB on rookie contracts.
  8. Josh really doesn't need a "mentor" in the QB room at this stage. He's a vet now. No one needs to hold his hand. I believe that's a reason the Bills didn't extend a futures deal to Davis Webb. As far as backups, I'm ok with having a rookie, a Brandon Allen type and maybe even a Benkurt type (camp arm) fight it out for #2. If Josh misses extended time the season is likely circling the drain even with a higher end backup. Very worst case scenario, the Bills have a bad season and get a chance at drafting a premium player the following year on a cheap rookie deal ti add to a championship caliber roster. Not ideal, but a good consolation.
  9. Yeah, I think most of the blame should fall on the coaches, however Bass seems to often get a free pass. If he's trotting out on the field not knowing the call, knowing no one told him anything...he could have easily asked. Double checked in and said "Coach, still kicking deep or...?" Hopefully he has learned a lesson as well.
  10. I have to think if you put Allen (or Mahomes) on the Bengals in that game Cincy wins it by 10. Not that Burrow did any thing terrible...just both Mahomes and Allen are better suited to escape the pressure, take what defenses give them and extend plays/drives.
  11. There are certainly some teams that I could see him being worth paying that much to. The Raiders just aren't one of them. Due to the rather...odd choices of draft picks by Gruden and Mayock (and the poor choices some of those picks made off the field) it's left then with not much talent, not many solid players on rookie deals that can help absorb that amount for just "good" QB play. They just have too much to make up for where paying Carr that much is tough to justify. Now, would he be worth that much to a team like the Colts? Absolutely. They are really just a good QB from deep playoff runs IMO. In my opinion, the best value for Carr to the Raiders would be the draft picks he could yeild in return. However, McDaniels seems to like him so he'll get paid for sure.
  12. Agree. However, Carr is in that catagory where he is just good enough that he will have you drafting middle of 1st round every year. If you could get away with paying him $25-30M a year and surround him with talent you can make the playoffs. Maybe go on a run. However when you pay the good like the great there isn't enough left over to to build a team that can be good consistently.
  13. Bates was great compared to what we had there this season. He really wasn't anything groundbreaking. An improvement...for sure. However it's a spot that can still be upgraded. As far as Brown, yes a rookie that shows promise. Still, a spot where competition is deserved. The "one sack" given is a misleading thing to say. Guy had issues with penalties, was very average as a run blocker and would have given up more sacks if not for Allen's ability to escape. Great personality though.
  14. People said the same about Stafford. Put Carr on the Rams and they still win it. However if you need to surround a QB with a "Dream Team" to win the Super Bowl then that QB isn't likely a $40M/year top tier guy IMO. But with the way QBs get paid he'll get $38M-$40M a season without a problem. Carr is more like cheap pressboard.
  15. My biggest worry headed to the offseason was that Bates had done just enough and Brown showed just enough promise that Beane would convince himself he could "run it back" again with that line. Glad to see that may not be the thinking. I like Bates and Brown...but both have to earn it IMO. Signing the Bobby Harts of the NFL as back up plans isn't going to cut it.
  16. It's a very valid questions and I would have been curious what those 30 reasons were. For me it's a double edged sword. I love the game of football. I love the history of the NFL. I have suffered through for so long for Buffalo to field a great team with a centerpiece like Josh Allen that there is no chance I can stop watching now. However, yes...it's getting harder to watch a game owned by billionaires that seem above the law. Seeing the game being priced out of a traditional middle class family budget. In no other sport is the Championship game aimed at people who don't really even follow the sport. And I won't even discuss the officiating. Even shows about the NFL have less and less to do with football and seem more like the nightly news. Domestic Violence, COVID, fatal DWI/manslaughter...list goes on and on. Remeber when football was an escape for a few hours from the real world issues? I watch the Bills now. I pay attention to the other games but no longer "need" to see the late Sunday, Monday or Thursday games that don't involve Buffalo. Maybe it's the above mentioned stuff or maybe it may age my own priority list has changed...but football isn't as important as it used to be.
  17. Exactly. He believes the Bengals made the Super Bowl because of him...not in spite of him. Unless the Bengals do something un-Bengal-like and invest in that line Joe Burrow may well end up this generation's David Carr.
  18. $28M can go a long way if structured well.
  19. Spain and Simmons going at it in Twitter. In fairness Spain would have ended the convo sooner...but he doesn't know how to use the "block" button.
  20. Can you explain what these metrics are precisely and why they cannot replicate it when we don't even know what the roster will look like next year? I'll hang up and listen.
  21. Any list that would rank last years Seattle Seahawks in the top 10 is pretty useless.
  22. The first key is to make the playoffs. Make the playiffs 10 years in a row you set yourself up to go on a run and win one 10 times. If Perine catches that 4th down pass last night I believe the talk of today is that the Rams were fools for throwing everything away for 1 year. How the investment in OBJ backfired as soon in as he got hurt. Going all in is still not guaranteed. We have seen teams do this year after year and the end result is bad more than good. You toss your future into this year and suffer a few injuries. A few bad bounces of the ball or...hey how about a few bad calls by officials....and your major investment fizzles, you are mediocre at BEST for the next few years and your miss cashing in with a guy like Josh Allen. There really should be a nice mix. Invest in the draft. Also, sign a few key guys in the offseason that fit what you do.
