Speculative article on friction between McDermott and Staff?
BuffaloBillyG replied to BillsMafi$'s topic in The Stadium Wall
The unintentionally hilarious part of all this is how the whole thought process plays out. "McD preaches accountability, but doesn't practice it so I'm gonna be critical of that. But also, keep my name out of it because I don't want to be accountable for what I'm saying". -

Well, without knowing who is saying it we don't even know if they are still employed in Buffalo. For all we know it's Rick Dennison stirring the pot at being fired 4 years ago. -

So the first part of this is saying he should do what he has done at many pressers for years. The second part says it's disingenuous and fake. -

Again...nameless "sources". A nameless source is useless because it could literally be anyone with anywhere from up close knowledge to bring a friend of a friend of a guy that Farwell coached with for a season 4 years ago that is speculating because of aomething he heard while in the bathroom stall being talked about by 2 guys that habe no idea the working of the Bills. And the prevailing idea is that, no he was not fired. His contract was likely up and he was free to leave. -

So, because McD didn't come out and put everyone at fault on full blast in the media...more "nameless players" feel he's not practicing accountability? Of course had he done that the same "nameless player" might say he's throwing guys under the bus and airing dirty laundry. BTW, as far as holding people accountable...where is the ST Coordinator now? Oh right...gone. Allowed to look for other opportunities. Or if the guys contract was up...he wasn't retained. Seems accountability may have happened. -

So, McD doesn't surround himself with "Yes men" and it leads to some friction. BFD. -
Browns reinforce their plans for Mayfield.
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBills1998's topic in The Stadium Wall
There were a few games in 2020 that they win largely because of his passing. However, I would agree they (along with the Jets) would love to go back and grab Allen over who they chose. -

He played well enough in 2020 and with the team they have they can win games with him as evidenced by their playoff win that season. He's never going to be a "reset the market" guy. Or at least shouldn't be. However when healthy he can be in that 2nd tier QB range IMO -
Yea, I can't IMAGINE a scenario where keeping the kicker in the loop with strategy would be beneficial....oh wait...

There's more than 1 flavor of Kool-Aid. Time to stop picking at people for the flavor they choose to consume.

That 4.78 second 40 was many moons ago. Think you could about time him with a sundial these days😂

I really want Fitzy to come back for this season
BuffaloBillyG replied to bubba2018's topic in The Stadium Wall
Fitz looks like a modern day Merlin Olsen. No worries about his look for TV. I think the Bills have a dollar amount they are willing to spend on the backup QB position. Mitch got $2.5M last year. I don't think they go above that and most likely look to spend a little less there this year. That would likely rule out guys like Mariota, Fitz, Dalton and Taylor IMO. -

Nope. Nothing to do with any "curse". He's coming off a pretty significant injury. Not really sure he's going to be 100% ready. Plus if he is ready to roll and playing this year there are enough teams that would be able to offer him a chance to play (and pay him much more for that). I do look forward to him attending the AFC Championship game in Buffalo this year, however. I'll even buy the guy one of those overpriced Labatts. So, bring back Peterman? -

What is the BEST pick you would trade for Saquon Barkley?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Rigotz's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm a big Singletary guy. I feel like when he's on the bell cow role he does very well. If the line improves he will be even better. For the sake of this post if we were pushed into needing a RB I would go no higher than a 6th and Moss. Giants could use him being familiar with Daboll's offense and a cheap rookie contract while they work out their cap issues. Would rather just sign Marlon Mack and have him back up Motor and mix in a rookie. I'm done with seeing Moss. -
In this case the biggest difference is that Allen getting $45M per season means his cap hit can be converted and much lower than that. If AR wants that $50M chances are guaranteed money won't be kicked as far down the road to lessen this season's cap hit. $45M/7 years vs $50M/1-2 years plays out much different. And on Rodgers case I wouldn't kick that can too far down the road...end up like the Saints real fast that way.

I'd somewhat disagree on MVS. I see him more of a "high end" #3 guy. But agree, that he is QB dependant. A top QB gets him to that range for me. He does make a lot of catches most guys wouldn't. Excellent on the sidelines. Tonyan I could take or leave. Problem comes with having to create and then fill holes with no money.
