  1. I'm sure if the time comes that Brandon Beane will do his due diligence on Beckham. If he's not ready to roll one other name I could kind of see the Bills looking at is T. Y. Hilton. Yes he's a tad older and has had recent injury issues as well...but he did average 14.4YPC for the Colts in 10 games last season.
  2. He has been really good. Teams are already trying to avoid him. He's also very physical which our receivers have had struggles with in the past. Also for those wondering he has been "credited" with giving up 2 TDs so far...one to Amari Cooper and the other to Myers last weekend...however both that are pinned on him were credited wrongly where he was technically "his guy" but Joyner should have picked him up. I think we don't actually see much Sauce vs Diggs. I think the Jets bracket Diggs with DJ Reed (who is quietly having a great year as well) and a safety. Lock Sauce on Gabe Davis. I do see Allen targeting Sauce quite a bit. It's a challenge and Josh doesn't shy away from that. I think Sauce will nab an INT on him...but I also see Diggs getting a short TD on one of the few matchups with Sauce. Much like the TD he undressed Lattimore on in the Saints game. Gardner did well on Chase...but also matches up very well with him. Diggs is a completely different animal. Not sure there is a better route runner in the NFL. And Allen will be the best QB he has faced. I'm excited to watch the matchup. It may be a guy from the dirty stinking Jets...but these type match ups are what make football fun.
  3. In 2018 the starting QB of the Broncos was....Buffalo Bill's back up QB Case Keenum
  4. They lost their own...correct? So they traded one that they currently were scheduled to have? Right? After making the trade with the 49ers...that pick became theirs.
  5. And that's a reason they will STAY "noncontenders". Teams making deals just for the sake of making them and burning draft picks. Not a great idea.
  6. The sky is not falling. While I cannot deny that Chubb at full strength is a good pass rusher, I'm more than happy to watch the Dolphins distribute 1st round picks (and more) like Halloween candy for players that they then need to extend to substantial contracts. Sorry, but this is a recipe for failure on many fronts. Chubb, again...good player. But the reason the Broncos backed up a brinks truck for Randy Gregory is that going into this season there were many questions around his durability and his production. He's had a few good games to start his season. a season where he's motivated to play well for that next contract. We have seen that many times in the past. Players producing in a contract year are fools gold most of the time.
  7. Beane built the team he wanted in the offseason. Getting Miller, Jones, Settle. Drafting Elam and Cook. Stealing Shakir in the 5th. Uncovering gold in Benford in the 6th. He build the team that everyone is trying to beat. We get a former All Pro CB back in the next couple weeks. Cook and Shakir are being brought along slowly to be ready for playoff time. Hamlin, Elam and Benford are gaining more and more experience and will be on point come January. AND we get to keep a full compliment of picks for next year. I want a new shiny toy for the offense just as much as anyone. However, even if we stand pat this is still the deepest roster in the NFL and is being led by the best QB in the NFL. We're good.
  8. Spending a first for Claypool when the last few drafts and looks like the next few drafts are WR rich in talent and can find very good players at WR in round 2-5 would have been a fireable offense.
  9. Claypool is a decent jack of all trades receiver. Kinda a poor, poor, poor, poor man's Deebo. Couple him up with a QB that can make plays with his legs and 2 legit RBs. Building for cold and windy days. I get the vibe. But a 2nd rounder? Eh...little rich for a team that needs to have some high draft picks to rebuild. Their OL is not much better than the Bengals.
  10. My sources have informed me that we will NOT be trading for Jaire Alexander. So that's one player we can eliminate. That leaves something like 3,519 players left.
  11. I kind of hope one of them makes this move. The problem with the Jets isn't the defense. Unless Chubb can play QB...I'd be happy to see them burn a 1st and not be inline for a QB improvement. And Miami needs to focus on young and cheaper players. They already pay big bucks to several and it will be time to put up or shut up with Tua soon. Realistically I think he's doing just enough that the Fins will try and resign him. Making this move also would make it far less likely that either team has the picks or cash to make a trade or FA splash at QB. So, yea Jets or Fins...burn that 1st and then turn around and pay big bucks on a new contract for a player that had so many questions around his productivity and durability entering this season that the Broncos went out and spent big bucks on Randy Gregory rather than extending Chubb.
  12. Nah, believe it or not it's actually ok to look at the positive side of life too. Take a moment to enjoy and be thankful for a win rather then rushing to the boards moments after a double digit win to immediately point out the negatives. Wanting and hoping for perfect play is great. A few years back I was coaching Little League. One of my pitchers threw a one hitter. Struck out something like 12 or 13. Was just a dominate performance. Kid's dad after the game looked him in the eye and told him he needs to work on his game because he gave up a hit. Point being, a bit of critical thinking is good. But there's a time and place. Take a moment. Let others enjoy. Let yourself enjoy. Wasn't that long ago we were losing games like that by 20. Enjoy the growth. The world already has one Jerry Sullivan. We really don't need more, Dorkula.
  13. Agree with you as I mentioned him late last week as well. My 2 cents: Raiders put themselves in a bind by not taking his 5th year option. Now they either have to sign him to a likely pricy second contract or let him walk in the hopes of getting a comp pick. So, in theory if the Bills (or anyone, really) were to offer a 3rd it would be higher than the comp pick they would get for him by letting him walk. At 2-5 this should be their play. I could even be talked into a 2nd as our second would be at the end of they round most likely and then we would end up potentially gaining they comp pick for letting him walk. So a late second that we would give up would possibly become a late 3rd for the services of a nice power running back. The offense has looked good so far, but we aren't that far away from the weather being an issue much like we saw last year. The Patriots game, the Falcons game...heck did we have any good weather games last year? In any even weather is going to be an issue soon and Jacobs being added to Motor and Cook just looks a lot better than the possibility of Moss getting carries because he's a "power back"
  14. Seeing the defense get run on like that wasn't ideal. But they didn't give up the big TD run, for the most part kept plays in front of them and let the Packers run the clock out on themselves. Stepped up a couple times with stops on 4th down. Had constant pressure on the QB. One INT and close to a couple more. Most importantly, gave up 17 points. The 2 TDs they did give up were from a spectacular route being run and a highlight real type catch by Doubs. Credit to both of those WRs.
  15. And I believe this was why Beane gave him a slight pay bump this year instead of a new contract. Those injuries are piling up. While he is an extremely important player on our defense...he's already missed multiple games. He's exited a couple others early due to injury. For a guy on the wrong side of 30...it's not the way to get the big new contract. If anything Beane may offer him a "prove it" deal IMO. Poyer is still good when available and playing through all the injury is a credit to what a warrior he is. But it's likely time to get younger at the position. Hope we can at least get him the ring he deserves as a parting gift. He's more than earned that.
  16. Cook set a personal best for yards in a game last night. Showed some explosion and promise. He's clearly leapfrogged Moss (who did not touch the ball...not even sure he saw an offensive snap). That's progression. I haven't looked at snap counts last night but I saw Shakir on the field a bit last night too. Just an estimate I'd say he had 35-40% of the snaps last night...which is right about where Crowder was before getting injured. Only 1 completion went to the slot position last night. When you have a roster as deep with as much talent at the skill positions it allows you to trickle in rookies slowly. It's a great play to both get them used to the speed of the NFL and gain trust of the guys on the team. Teams like Seattle, Houston, the Jets that you see these rookie runners starting for and doing well...they have far less talent on their teams. Hall is already out and Walker and Pierce may likely hit that rookie wall about week 15 or 16. I'm ok not letting Cook wear himself out being that I'm hoping he plays in 20 games this year.
  17. 6-1. Literally the only thing that matters. I don't care if they have a game like the Pats playoff (perfect game) or if it's a slop fest. It's football and football is rarely perfect. I'm thankful for games like last night. Beating a 2 time reigning MVP on national TV? I'll take it no matter the surrounding stories. Wasn't that long ago we were just hoping the Bills wouldn't be abused and embarrassed on a big stage when they had a rare national game. A week 8 game with some flaws is perfect to keep the Bills "growth mindset" and keep working. I swear when/if the day comes and the Bills finally win the big one half the threads start the next day will be "Yea, we won the Super Bowl....but..." and the other half will be telling us how terrible a select few of the players played in the game. It's football, take the win any way they come. On to the Jets.
  18. Giants are about to get Geno'd. Seahawks 27 Giants 23. Giants late comeback luck runs out when Danny Dimes throws a pick with less than 30 seconds left.
  19. I'm going to set aside the obvious players that make the list due to SA or DV reasons. They aren't even worth mentioning. The guy who tops my list is Jack Fox, Punter of the Detroit Lions. His name sounds like a 70s adult movie star., first off. And 70s adult movies were just so cheesy. So I assume Jack Fox is cheesy as well. Also, he is a Punter and if he somehow sees this message board and comes looking for me, I feel I would fare much better in a fight with a punter than an Aaron Donald or Myles Garrett. Also, as well...he is a punter. Punters aren't likeable. I think the punter off the Super Bowl winning team should get a ring from a gumball machine, rather than an actually ring. Because F punters.
  20. I wouldn't be shocked to see the Bills stand still in the RB room. Moss is likely back active this week. If they want to make a move or there is an injury they will promote Duke from the PS. That said the one name I think is the most possible IF the Bills try and grab someone here is Jeff Wilson from SF. With CMC in town, Elijah Mitchell coming off IR and rookie Davis-Price...Wilson may be available. I would imagine a day 3 pick. If a move is made I just don't see them moving for a big name guy.
  21. I'm old enough to remember when Next Gen type stats told us that Josh Allen was a bust, Lamar was going to be a multiple time MVP and Sam, Baker and Rosen were the future of the NFL.
  22. There is a difference between a good back next year and a back that may have an immediate impact on the team come playoff time this year. Take a guy like Josh Jacobs. The Raiders declined his 5th year option. They're sitting at 2-4 and while they do have a soft back half of the schedule and could go on a run...you have to wonder what they would ask for him. Declining his option puts the Raiders in a tough spot. They are either going to resign him to a big contract (and I doubt they do) or they have to let him walk and hope to recoup a 3rd or 4th round comp pick. So in theory if they would take a 3rd (which would be a few spots higher than their comp pick) or even if it costs a 2nd...Buffalo could recoup that pick if they let him walk the following year. So giving up a 2nd for half a year of Jacobs and getting an extra 3rd or 4th back is not horrible value. At this point of his career Cam Akers may very well be worse than Moss. Akers sadly took the Todd Gurley career path. Rams making it a habit grinding all the gears off a RB quickly.
  23. Ice, I'm going to shoot straight with you for a moment. Please understand that this does not come from a place of malicious intent or with the slightest intent to be rude. It's not that you aren't wanted here. From near as I can tell you seem to mean the best. But it's hard for a fanbase that missed the playoffs for almost 2 straight decades to feel much sympathy for a fan from a team that has been in the thick of things for 30 years because of the Favre and Rodgers factor. Heck, before them you guys even had The Magic Man Don Majkowski who was no slouch and better than most of the guys we had under center since Jim Kelly. Many of us watched every week. Year in and year out with no hope of a Super Bowl. Best hope we had was lightning in a bottle and a one and done playoff run. But we watched. We showed up be it a blizzard or 75 and sunny. So, and again I mean you no ill will when I say this...to see a fan of another team bypass watching their team play a game that could very well determine the rest of their season...after 7 weeks...actually forget that. Y'all started 3-1. So after 3 bad weeks to skip watching a game...that's just something that most here cannot relate to. That's some A+, top of the charts fair weather fanning on an astronomical level.
  24. Being the most recent game it's still fresh in everyone's minds. But let's not pretend that McKenzie has only had one bad game. The issue with McKenzie is that there always seems to be an issue. I get it, the guy is a good dude. Funny. Multitalented. I don't wish ill will against him at all. I also don't think he's a guy that should be a staring slot guy on a Super Bowl caliber team. Starting for a team like Atlanta? Houston? Chicago? Absolutely. I just don't think of him as a prime time player. And there's nothing wrong with being that guy. Doesn't mean I think he "sucks". I do think he has a place on the team...but returning kicks and the occasional jet sweep or bubble screen may be his limit. They guy is 6 years into his career and still making rookie mistakes. The best thing about him right now is him taking snaps is allowing Shakir to be brought on slowly. Hopefully he's ready to overtake the job by the playoffs.
