NFL/USFL partnership for player development
BuffaloBillyG replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
This reeks of a stateside version of NFL Europe. -

Best Bills player to wear every jersey number (51-99)

James Lofton should have been #86 IMO. -
Watch your mail for season ticket cards

I keep getting e-mails from Gruden instead. Should I call my ticket rep? -
Further Details About Gruden’s Leaked E-Mails
BuffaloBillyG replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
Didn't say I felt sorry for him. Gruden likely never had to work again with his career earnings anyway. But by and large he becomes the face of public ridicule and scorn with a lot less to show for it. Different rules apply for you and I then a millionaire like Gruden. And different rules apply for millionaires than billionaires. -
Further Details About Gruden’s Leaked E-Mails
BuffaloBillyG replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
While I do not condone anything Gruden said and say that there should have been some repercussion from the e-mails, it's just so odd that he gets fired, public image destroyed, becomes basically unable to be hired and cast out as a plague on society (on some of those fronts deservingly so)....and Dan Snyder gets about $6 BILLION dollars and goes on his merry way. -
Andrew Luck will be eligible for the HOF in 2024
BuffaloBillyG replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Well, for this chapter I would label it "inconclusive". I do believe that had he kept playing Luck may have ended up with a Super Bowl appearance or two. However, for the most part I do agree with you. Football is too unpredictable a sport to rely on that "one guy" coming in, being what he was supposed to be, staying healthy and surrounding him with the players, coaches and system for them to be worth a true tank. And even then you have to worry about teams like KC, Philly, Buffalo ect that will build something better and you have to overcome all that in a single elimination playoff scenario. -
Andrew Luck will be eligible for the HOF in 2024
BuffaloBillyG replied to Gregg's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nope. Great skills. Put up solid numbers when he played. My personal criteria for HoF is: can you tell the story of the era of football they played without mentioning their name? If the answer is yes, then they don't belong. Luck was good, but never really moved the needle of the era IMO. -

Josh buys modest beach house in SoCal
BuffaloBillyG replied to Captain_Quint's topic in Off the Wall
Oh no! This confirms he's going to ask for a trade to the 49ers. Maybe we can get Sam Darnold in return. I hate this step of the process. -
Agree, Marlowe is the only one that makes total sense. With Hines restructure and his return ability it makes more sense to keep him and his value may increase if Cook misses any time with injury. Murray doesn't make sense as a cut candidate for what they would save by it. I have said in the past that there may be a path where he does not start on the 53 man roster but is placed on the practice squad to start the year. This keeps him available in case Harris misses time and for him, keeps him local where he wants to be to set up his post playing career. It would be a win/win for player and team and it would not shock me if this was discussed prior to his signing here. Morse is the tricky one. The price tag is rather high and his concussion history is an issue. Yes, the Bills would save a huge amount with a cut. However, they had better be darn sure that Bates, Edwards or whoever they slot in there isn't a downgrade. They spend money to bring in some FA (potential) upgrades and invested hight draft capital (2nd rounder) for another to upgrade the IOL. I don't see them willing to possibly throw that into disarray by moving on from the guy that has been the most consistent OL we have had.

Best players stay. That's just how it is. I like Hamlin. Liked him even before the unfortunate incident he had. For his lack of experience I though he played reasonably well last year and had a ton of upside with room to get better with experience. If he is physically well and mentally ready for football, I see no way he doesn't make the team on his own merits. If not they will not carry him "just because". And I'm cool with that. I'm sure Damar will get another opportunity if he somehow doesn't make the roster, maybe even back home in Pittsburgh.

Can we be sure it wasn't really OJ's son that had the heart attack?

One from each division: AFCE: New England finishes 10-7 and makes WC. Having a true OC is the difference AFCN: Steelers finish 10-7 miss playoffs. Pickett takes leap forward. AFCS: Houston give Jacksonville a run for their money for division crown AFCW: Sean Payton flops in Denver. Move on from Wilson after season NFCE: Giants finish last in division. Danny Dimes takes steps backwards. NFCN: Packers finish 9-8 clinch WC. Love proves capable as mid level starter. NFCS: Arthur Smith finally figures out how to use Pitts. Falcons win division by 3 games. NFCW: Purdy was a flash in the pan. Sam Darnold leads 49ers to division crown, deep playoff run before his mistakes cost team SB appearance. Bonus: AFCCG: Buffalo at Kansas City NFCCG: Dallas at Philadelphia Super Bowl: Buffalo vs Dallas Picking 1st overall next year: Arizona Coaches Fired: Kevin Stefanski Dennis Allen Ron Rivera Brandon Staley Robert Saleh

Thad Brown the first to be offended by Josh

Thad is just the new wave of Jerry Sullivan. -
These are new times. While we may not see a coach's head go through a wall...we do have a coach that is a World Champion patio chair thrower. I'd dub Kromer the "Josh Allen of patio furniture". Anything is still possible.

That's some off brand looking toilet paper right there.

I fully agree. As a matter of fact he can go play in the USFL if he doesn't want to be here. Joe Cribbs is easily replaceable.

Von Miller crashed into Patrick Mahomes
BuffaloBillyG replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think players nowadays look at things way different than the old days. Back then they legitimately didn't like guys from division or conference rivals. These days it's a business. Players are often working out together with guys from other teams. Guys have connections to every locker room. Plus guys team hop so often now that everyone knows everyone. -

ESPN article ranking the top NFL rosters
BuffaloBillyG replied to BADOLBILZ's topic in The Stadium Wall
No objections for that. They are. Harty is on his 2nd team. Sherfield his fourth. But I don't see that as a negative. By that definition Beasley (Bills were his 2md team), John Brown (Bills were his 3rd in his first run), Crowder (Bills 3rd team) were journeymen as well. In fact, more players then not in this day and age would fall under "journeymen" label. -
Champions of the AFC four years in a row is not bad by any metric. It astonishes me to this day how fans from other teams use that as a put down for this franchise. Those games were 30 years ago. Not one player, scout or executive (or owner) is around from that era anymore to my knowledge. Maybe a few of the gate guards because some of them look ancient. It's almost as irrelevant as when Jet fans yell "yeah but we have a Super Bowl" that was what...50 years ago? That a very high percentage of them weren't even alive to see? At least a good amount of us have SEEN our team in a Super Bowl.

Pats give DeVante Parker a Big Extension
BuffaloBillyG replied to Coach Tuesday's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think as a defensive coach he's pretty solid. Head coach wise I think he falls into the Rex Ryan category. Boisterous blowhard that loves the headlines. I do like his shiny head though. Much better to look at than McDermott's dull dome. As far as coaches that may hold the Jets back...we can add ol Nate Hackett to that list. His playcalling makes Dorsey look like Andy Reid.
