Update:

I liked Evans coming out a bit. But this seems to be the level of RB they Bills will target. Interesting that Hill (4.51 40) and Smith (4.59) seem to be more on the plodding back side
-
And the restructuring is definitely an "agree to disagree" topic. At the time it made some sense as it still secured a guy with speed and talent as a return man (restructure was before rule change) in addition to depth at the RB position. We also do not know what if any role they had planned for him. In addition to keeping him at the reduced rate the move created a small chunk of cap space. The only way it would cost the Bills more than what they already owed is if he exceeded his incentives which (unless they are tied to amount of times hit on a jet ski) he will not. If they place him on the IR they will still save more than they would have had they not reworked his deal at all. In hindsight, sure it would now cost a small amount to move on. Can't predict a freak jet ski accident, though.
-
I agree with what you're saying about the gap in KR. However listening to Beane after the trade would indicate that he viewed the move as more than that. Have to remember at the time of the trade they were still a bit slow bringing Cook along. My opinion is that he was brought in to replace Cook's snaps late in the season had Cook not stepped it up and showed he could progress. And to his credit he did.
-
That is correct. He can't be fined as he isn't technically under contract. And yes, Mr. Jacobs needs to avoid any time on jet skis for the foreseeable future.
-
The only chat Dalvin has entered is the one that he allegedly tried to bribe the woman pushing a DV case against him to settle for a million dollars.
-
Yes, but hardly the impact that you implied in your original point. $1.5M in dead cap these days is equivalent to buying an extra can of tuna fish at the store and blaming that on the reason your grocery bill is $80 more.
-
Even though it's described as minor, I'm gonna slide this in here because I feel like Toney will, yet again be a frequent flyer on the trainers table. Guy has the talent to be a good WR but the durability of Marquis Goodwin.
-
While Barkley has been talked about a ton it feels like the NFL rushing leader from last year being in the same situation has slipped through the cracks a bit.
-
That's even more unfortunate for Hines. Dude was just enjoying a day. Hope for the best for the guy.
-
Possibly. Wasn't Shakir a return option last year as well before we got Hines? Be a slick way to get him some opportunities as well. While I don't think we end up with someone as electrifying as Hines I think we can find someone that's steady. My gut tells me that they look to someone already on the roster first. Then they use the spot to bring back a vet they like/know that they let walk...Taiwan Jones/ Kumerow type signing and add to ST.
-
Harty could slot in there. And I'm sure some guys will come available as the preseason ends. Not worried just yet.
-
It appears that the Bills would suffer a $1.5M dead cap while gaining $2M in cap if they were to cut him. That's really not much of a dead cap. Now, I think they will more than likely just IR him...but being he was injured working out away from team activities may open the door for a release.

Since 1987, Offense Wins Super Bowls about 2/3's of the time.

It's almost like that cringe inducing catch phrase that McDermott has often thrown out there of "complimentary football" actually means something. Wow. -
Josh Allen "Elite Player Item" with Madden '24 Pre-order

I mean, he went from a long term girlfriend to pulling Hailee Freaking Steinfeld. If that doesn't scream "Elite Player" I don't know what does. -
No. Hines was slotted as a KR/likely backup RB to James Cook. The Bills may be in the RB market for a guy that can slot in there but logically Delvin: -Adds nothing to the return game -Is facing a legal battle over potential domestic violence -History of shoulder injuries -Reportedly has an offer on the table from the Vikings for around $7M which Buffalo would have to beat I see Beane looking for a guy that can add to ST because that was likely the role Hines was going to fill. Would not shock me if this is the opening that brings back Taiwan Jones.

Hindsight is always 20/20 and it's very easy to sit back and say, yup that was the wrong call after the fact. Realistically, if you are dropping 8 on a 3rd and 22 there should be no reason that there's a place for Tua to bomb it to if the players execute their jobs. Even with extra time to throw. Yes, Frazier is a passive coach. But that one is on the guys on the field IMO.

Tough break for a really good dude. This potentially ends his Buffalo career as he's a FA after the season.

Still far apart. Too bad. I think he should sit out the season. -
This is where I sort of away away from popular opinion. If we took away Allen's rushing statistics I would say he had a great year last year...but not an elite year due to the turnovers.
-
"He's a system QB" is the modern way of saying I just don't wanna give the kid credit. To have to justify every little point is absurd. The kid had an Elite season last year. Played out of his mind. Deserves the accolades for the year he had. The question of "will be continue it" is the valid one.
