I agree, yet hope you're wrong and they do a complete reboot. JD started out slow, but I think a lot of that had to do with Gase pulling the strings initially. Hate to give someone associated with the Jets credit, but he's done a really nice job. Starting with talking the Seahawks into giving up 2 1sts for Adams...and has built well off that.

If Kincaid can fill the slot role of this team...
BuffaloBillyG replied to Cray51's topic in The Stadium Wall
Slot this year is going to be STACKED. Between Kincaid running routes there, Sherfield chipping in, Harty and I expect to even see Diggs out of the slot more this team is set up to have match up nightmares for most defenses. -
It's going to be so much fun watching their season implode and that blustery bald meathead argue with the media. Saleh's ego has placed himself directly on the hot seat. If they fail this year...well Woody Johnson isn't known to be the most patient owner in sports.

Bills release first official depth chart of 2023
BuffaloBillyG replied to StHustle's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm going to preface this with saying that the 1st depth chart is typically meaningless. But it's not going to stop me from a few knee jerk hot takes...which are equally meaningless. 1. Spector being out of the MLB race early. I know there were some in his corner here. He does make the splash play here and there. But (at least last preseason) he had a tendency to free lance quite a bit. And while it results in a nice play here and there, this defense is meant for everyone to do their 1/11th and be in the spot they are supposed to be in. Still, I expect him to make the squad and keep improving. 2. I am a Torrence guy. I wanted him predraft and am ELATED the Bills selected him. That said, Bates starting week 1 at RG wouldn't shock me. However, I believe they know Torrence is likely to see the field sooner than later due to either him vaulting Bates...or injury to the IOL meaning Bates has to cover C or LG. Getting Torrence a lot of reps now with the 1s is the smart play. 3. CB2. I'm getting used to the term "matchup specific". I think Jackson/Benford/Elam all make starts. Having depth at CB is a good thing. 4. DT: Poona being 3rd team was a tad shocking as I would see him above Settle at least and Phillips since he's yet to make it all the way back. I still expect when the dust sets that's where he will end up. 5. OT: Shell being RT2 over Q is surprising (but a pleasant one for me) as is Doyle being LT2. (Not nearly as pleasant). 6. The overall depth of this roster is insane. We will be cutting players that can start for other teams. 7. I think we are going to see a lot more vets in the PS this year than years past. Isabella, Klein, Marlowe, Ray all stick out to me as candidates. PS team will look odd without Tanner Gentry occupying the "Friend of Josh Allen" annual spot. 8. Kyle Allen and Matt Barkley. Woof. -
That catch by Kincaid was such a good rep on a lot of fronts. 1. Play starts off with Dodson having almost perfect coverage. From what we have seen so far in TC...not an easy task on Kincaid. 99 times out of 100 that ball isn't even thrown to his man. 2. Allen places that ball low and away where only Kincaid has a shot at it. 3. Kincaid makes the sick grab. Excellent job by all three.

The thing that struck me about that segment was right after he said Haskins name there was a pause where I thought...oh he just realized he made a whoopsie...but then he said that the graphic said it should say "can't" win instead of "can". Dude didn't even realize what came out of his mouth seconds earlier. Shows that Cowherd doesn't even pay attention to what Cowherd says.

I'm honestly considering ordering a Bills throwback jersey with name and number Room/40
-
Make sure you check out Room 40. It's a personal favorite of Josh Allen's.
-
Well, I think if Ron is let go, that may have been the plan. Give him an audition as IHC. However, if EB is already not well liked it's going to go even further south of they do that in my opinion. Switching from a well liked Rivera to an already not liked Beinemy would destroy that locker room.
-
It is, but they aren't doing him any favors with Howell expected to start. Either way, he's likely one and done there. My money is on Ron Rivera being the first coach "relieved of his duties" this season.

While you never want to see set backs...this may be a bit of a blessing in disguise. If in fact it's to the opposite leg and not something complicating the ACL it may just slow him up a bit and save him from pushing too hard to come back too soon. Gives the Bills a valid reason to PUP him and not have Von disappointed. Let him miss the first month and a half and open a roster spot. Then (hopefully) with noore set backs he's ready to roll and ramped up for playoff season.

My Too Early 53 man Roster based on Camp reports
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
The problem with signing another backup QB at this point is they are very far behind in learning the offense Unless someone like Keenum who is already somewhat familiar with the offense comes available, I don't see it. QBs aren't just plug and play. If Kyle plays his way off the roster, then Barkley would be the likely backup to start the season IMO. Then we would see someone else (or maybe Kyle Allen) brought to the PS. I actually had Murray as a PS candidate after we signed him and got HAMMERED for suggesting it. That's where I had him until the Hines injury as well. Problem with having him on the PS is...who takes that spot? I don't see Buffalo entering the season with just 2 true RBs on the 53. I think we see 3 with 1 inactive on game day. So who takes the job from Murray? Mims the rookie or Evans? Evans offers some return ability but reports are he's worked less with ST over the last few practices. Either Mims or Evans are perfect to slip into the PS...where Murray could easily get nabbed... especially if a team suffers injury to the RB position in preseason. -
My Too Early 53 man Roster based on Camp reports
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Some really nice points made here. To offer my train of thought as to why Murray is a lock. Though they could turn their attention to a Zeke or Hunt, had they wanted them they would have targeted them when they signed Murray. To my knowledge, they did not. Cook wasn't on the market then, however if the reports of what he's been offered by other teams is accurate, I don't see the Bills jumping in late to the party to go after him. Buffalo has almost always gone with a pure "power runner" on the roster when they could get one. As you bring up Tolbert let's not forget Frank Gore and Chris Ivory. That's the mold Murray fits to me. A lot is made of Harris as a power runner and he can run it between the tackles...but he's more of a Singletary with a speed burst to me. Unless Mims or Evans can make it so they can't exposed them to the waiver wire Murray has a spot as that 3rd back inactive on game days IMO. -
No, I mean Blaine Gabbert who signed to back up Mahomes earlier in the off-season to replace Henne, who retired. Siemian! That's right.
-
Gabbert is in KC. Mariota is in Philly. Can't remember who Cincinnati signed off the top of my head but it was a decent backup as well.
-
At this point of the off-season, no. Those cupboards are pretty bare. There's a couple guys people have "heard of" such as Carson Wentz or Matt Ryan, but neither are a likely answer. Beane did draft a QB in the 5th a few years back. Jake Fromm. That...didn't work out so well. At this point of the off season the most likely choices for the Bills if they feel they need an upgrade would be either a trade or to watch the waiver wire and see if anyone comes available. In the case of a trade, finding a quality backup that has a contract they can work with becomes an issue.
