Saw some on Twitter suggest they rename the award the "Damar Hamlin Comeback Player of the Year" award and give it to someone that had a more impactful comeback in the field. I don't hate that idea.

On offense it's seemed to be someone new every week since Brady took over. Kincaid had a run. Cook was featured. Even Gabe Davis has showed out a time or two. Real crap shoot to predict. In a perfect world this would be a Diggs get right game. But we don't live in a perfect world and I still think Stef is being limited by injury. One of the things the Pats do well is contain the run. So I think Cook has a good but not great day. My pick: Khalil Shakir. I think even though he hasn't been himself, Belichick still schemes Diggs out. Gabe did well last week...so Brady has some things up his sleeve for Shakir. Thinking the 5 catch 110 yards and a TD. May even factor into the return game this week if Harty is inactive.

That may end up an unpopular opinion just because of where he played and how douchey he was as a player....but you're not really wrong. Edelman is pretty good on the pregame shows. I don't mind him as much as I thought I would. He's usually pretty good and seems to respect Allen and the Bills a fair amount.

Since the dynasty died, I've actually enjoyed Belichick a bit. His press conferences have always been unintentional comic GOLD. It's really been a lot of fun this year. It's absolutely hysterical to me the way the the New England reporters have covered him for 20+ years and still basically line up to be told to piss off by him 3 or 4 times a week. And his legendary pettiness when it comes to the Jets is to this day one of the most hysterical things in the NFL....does not get talked about enough.

I'm fine with Hamlin winning it. I'm fine if he doesn't. I get that he has gone through a lot and even though his snaps and impact has been rather insignificant, his ability to play has been remarkable. I'm sure the NFL makes sure he wins it so they can squeeze just a tad more PR out of the situation. That's what it's all about anyways, right? Flacco and Mayfield as "comeback" players is a joke. Flacco has played what, 5 games? He's coming "back" from what exactly? Being unsigned? Being a member of the Jets? Mayfield has had a really solid season...but again what is he "coming back" from? Honestly, even though I can't stand him, the player that has had the most impactful on field come back for my money is Matthew Stafford.

At one point I found it easy to root for the Bengals. Loveable losers that finally turned the corner and all. Now? Not so much. Bunch of cocky asshats. Reminds me of the Legion of Boom era Seahawks minus the Super Bowl title.

I think Howell will settle into the Minshew career arc. High end back up, good enough to start but not good enough for a team to commit to and build around. He'll be an very solid bridge guy as teams look for their QB of the future. And he will make a ton of cash doing it.

I don't see this one being close at all. Bills have something to prove after the loss in NE earlier in the year. Oddly enough, I see the Vikings being in on Russ Wilson.

Russ has actually had a pretty decent season for the most part even though he's asked to do a lot of things outside his skillet. Payton was always going to get rid of him after this year and get "his guy".

Buy: Rasul Douglas. He's been too quiet lately. Good thing for a CB...but I think he has a fun day Sunday against Zappe. Sell: Stefon Diggs. Since the OP is buying...allow me to sell my stock in him to you. I just think he's playing through some serious injury and may be limited in production the rest of the season. Hold: Leonard Fournette. I just don't see the Bills keeping him shelved come playoff time. He's got 2 call ups left during the regular season and then unlimited during the playoffs. We haven't seen the last of him.

All very true and very valid reasons. I do not disagree in the least. But even with all that going for them, stuff happens in football. It's a game that is both unpredictable and yet predictable at the same time. Can't wait to see how this one forms on the field of play.
