  1. True. But most here assert that idea only exists with external hires.
  2. Way too many people in this thread that are way too comfortable exposing who they are.
  3. Curious. Did the Bengals donit that way too? Because they are paying in the same Super Bowl.
  4. Again, aa said in OP...looking for external names mainly. However let me say this...ever see Matt Barkley on the sideline? Team loved having him. However there was a better external choice out there potentially so the Bills took it. Same could happen with OC.
  5. I actually did not see a thread on external hire choices. I saw 2 threads about people saying the 2 guys announced so far are wrong...so I was curious who everyone thought was right. If it's something to be merged with one of them, I'm certain the mods will so their duty. They are pretty good at that sorta thing!
  6. Being there doesn't mean they can do the job well. Which is why I asked this post focus more on externals than Dorsey and Hall. Because everyone's biggest fear is change...even if it has the possibility of being a better situation in the long run.
  7. This is an excellent choice IMO. One of the guys I have had in mind as well. Very high regarded and well liked by many from what I've heard. It's obvious IF the Bills just want to promote from within. Yes, Josh endorsed him, and he is well thought of by some...but I don't think it's automatically "his job". Frankly, aside from already being here we know no more about him that we can find out about Tee Martin and Mike Kafka with the aide of a brief internet search.
  8. Since there are a lot of people feeling certain ways over Tee Martin and Edgar Bennett being announced as the 1st 2 OC candidates I figured there were already strong thoughts on external guys we could discuss. What I'd like to know is who are Coaches you like and most important...WHY? While Dorsey is a popular name because he's on staff I would like to focus more on externals for the moment. I will add mine down thread as to not influence responses.
  9. Did some digging on both he and Martin. I favor Martin at this point.
  10. Spent 3 years as OC in Green Bay. Under Mike McCarthy. Thought they did a solid job in Vegas this year with a serious lack of talent on the WR room.
  11. We can't see the face. Can we be sure it's not Jason Bateman? Because I'd be all in for that.
  12. I mean, there is really good information on why this may be a good thing in this very thread. Scroll back, I suppose? Also, context is a good thing. In Tee's 1st season coaching him Brown went over 1,000 yards and had 90+ catches with Jackson and Jackson Lite passing him the ball.
  13. Sometimes the end justifies the means. I would sign him...but he would not be allowed to wear #12. That's special.
  14. Not only that bit at least Tee has experience in the OC chair and calling plays. It may have been at the NCAA level but it's experience Dorsey doesn't have on his resume yet. He coached Hollywood Brown to his 1st 1,000 yard seasons this year. Wonder what he could do with Gabe?
  15. Like anything, teams will get out of it what they put into it. If teams treat it like a "box to check" they may miss out. Beane and McD strike me as more of the "job is in the details" types. I'm sure they are doing due diligence on a guy that they may actually be interested in rather that shortcut it to "check a box". My personal feelings is when someone shouts "Rooney Rule interview" it reveals way more about themselves then the teams hiring.
  16. This is incorrect. Spent 3 seasons as OC for USC. 2nd bolded is also incorrect. For coordinator spots it's 1 external minority candidate.
  17. I known nothing about Martin, however Ravens Twitter is really upset he's interviewing...so that's a plus.
  18. Spent 2016-2018 as USC's OC. Last year was his 1st season coaching in the NFL. Spent time at New Mexico, Kentucky and his alma mater (Tennessee) mostly as Pass Game Coordinator/WRs coach. Would definitely be an "In Beane I Trust" response on my part if hired.
  19. Chiefs reserve DT Khalen Sunders (who?) sent this Tweet about an hour after their game last night. 1. Don't ever try and tell me that players take the losses as hard as fans. 2. Could you imagine the backlash had someone like Zack Moss or Tommy Doyle sent this message last week and hour after the Bills/Chiefs tilt? He'd be run out of the state.
  20. LMAO..get over myself? Easy Polly. You think my take of him not being pursued by people that know why more about him MIGHT indicate something...yet your take of "teams aren't after him because they are shy" is spot on? Mmkay.
  21. If you feel that it's negative to have feelings other that sunshine and rainbows that's a "you issue", bro. Like I said in my 1st post you quoted..I'm not saying he would be bad. Just gives pause to wonder why of he's such a lock at greatness more teams aren't in one him.
  22. Last year after he missed on the Charger job he withdrew his name from other interviews that were set up IIRC. Tells me he wasn't going to take just "Any job". Giants are a solid landing spot with some pieces on place, good picks this season (and a projected soft schedule next year). Don't be shocked when they win 7 or 8 next year.
