Basham has actually looked decent in the preseason IMO. If he's not traded I think he makes it. Epenesa hasn't really stood out to me at all...but he did have 6.5 sacks last year in limited time. I'm betting KJ is part of the initial cuts and they try and get him back for the PS. I really like the guy and hope it works out.

And that's the thing a lot of people in the media can't get past. It seems all 4 teams will be competitive. The outlooks is always the same..."The Bills are in trouble.". It's like only the Bills have to play 2 against the Pats, Jets and Fins. But they all play each other twitch and at some point of the season attrition will likely set in. One or two of the teams will possibly pull away from the others in head to head. The most likely scenario I see is the Jets giving Miami fits. That secondary may be a poor matchup for Miami. I see the Pats taking a game from each of the Jets and Fins. If Buffalo can manage 4-2 in the division I see that as a huge benefit.

The thing about the Patriots is they have a solid defense which can keep them in games. Then, they added Bill O'Brien as an actual OC...and that really will make a huge difference in their offense. BOB is a horrible GM but he can call an offense well. That will be a huge step up from Matt Patricia. Mac doesn't have to be fantastic to win games. That said I still see them as having the least talented roster top to bottom in the division. I think they are good enough to maybe steal a game or two from the Jets and or Dolphins...and if they catch the Bills off guard could even sneak a game from Buffalo. All in all I have them in 3rd in the division, challenging the Dolphins for 2nd.

We went 13-3 last year in the regular season after this team encountering nothing but tragedy from the Co-owner of the team's health issues to the Tops shooting to the blizzards, missing Christmas morning and Damar plus about 8 other things....that we know of. CLEARLY leadership is an issue with this team.

All kidding aside...could you imagine how fun that SF offense would be to watch if they had Allen?

It feels like had they done well last week that would have been a wrap on the majority of the starters PS. However with the presnap penalties it's good to get them back out there and tune up a bit. Just hope we stay healthy.

He seems like the ultimate "tweener" type to me. But a DC like Martindale can definitely find a way to use that.

I mean, Spencer Brown has "starting experience". Bobby Hart has "starting experience". That's such an empty term IMO. What I ask is what was the quality of those starts? How did this Fred Johnson (sounds like a Madden made up name) look? Was he RT? LT?

Former 1st rounder for a 7th. What a time to be alive. And before it's a "Beane messed up"...NO Simmons isn't a MLB. But Arizona is open for business...

He has the potential, for sure. It will be interesting to see how he responds when a defense schemes ways to try and take him out of the gameplan. It will be interesting to see how he develops his game over the season and into next year. There is definitely cause for excitement and optimism with him. I'll also be watching closely how and what his usage is. How often Josh looks for him when there's a big moment in the game or if a play breaks down and Kincaid has to improvise. I don't care about his blocking as much. That's not what he's here for IMO. I'm also interested to see how he responds to his "welcome to the NFL" moment or moments. Will it drive him to get better or make him question his self confidence? While I agree he has the potential to be a truly special player in the NFL there is still a road to get there that he has yet to travel.

I know there are many here that don't like him...but this is as one user points out....oddly specific.

From what I have seen it's a true retirement. He's been away from the team for a bit and it was reported he was excused to deal with a personal matter. Sounds to me like the passing of his brother gave him a different set of priorities in life and/or just have him in a bad head space.

I actually kind of like Ridder in that offense. I think he can add something to what they have. Wouldn't surprise me to see him be a capable QB in that offense under Smith.

Tampa Bay would be smart to take a look at this. They have Baker and Trask. Lance would see some snaps at some point. Problem could be for what they gave up to get him I don't see the 49ers giving him away for low value. Especially after losing something like 16 QBs to injury last year (or so it seemed)

It does. His salary was not guaranteed for this year. The Jets are not on the hook for any of his salary.

Not a ton known at this time. Was reported to be working off to the side when he suddenly needed medical attention. Pretty scary for a guy that has had heart issues in the past. Prayers up for Tommy.

I think the Dolphins may have better top of the roster talent. However they appear to lack depth at a lot of positions. On the other hand, the Bills may lack that true top end talent outside the obvious guys, however seem to be much deeper in depth to me. Over the course of a season, injuries happen. Guys miss time. I'll take Buffalo's top 53 over Miami's for a 17 game seasons. I think we have a much better shot at sustaining wins while key players are out (see last year).

Fun story about one of the surprises of the preseason. He's been first in at OT in both PS games IIRC. There's a real path to the 53 for this guy. Could be a good find.

I know he was a tackle but unsure if he played RT or LT. One thing I found interesting about him, Edwards was recruited to play TE before switching to OL. I'm wondering if he will have a roll as the "6th OL"/tackle eligible" role that Bobby Hart had last year and Tommy Doyle did well in the year before.
