  1. They will likely get a lot of pressure with 4, leaving 7 guys dropping back to fight for Wilson's likely INTs. There will be a few time that I think they throw a 5th guy into the pass rush to take Wilson by surprise an possibly force a mistake. Feels like a game we could see Taron blitz from his spot around the edge or Hamlin one or twice up the middle.
  2. I'm actually starting to think that the first few games that White comes back he's maybe better suited to be the #2 CB behind Dane until he's fully back up to speed. He'll likely overtake the top CB spot back...but the play of Dane combined with the play of Elam and Benford really makes White a luxury to have coming back. What a great problem to have!
  3. The Jets have a very aggressive pass rush, for sure. You know what slows down a blistering pass rush and helps the o-line out? A few well timed screen passes. You know what Nyheim Hines is good at? Catching screen passes and hitting those afterburners. Now, I'm not saying that Ken Dorsey would build a gameplan with the shiny new toy being a large part of the plan after only having a few practices with the team. That's something only a psychopath would do.
  4. Ok, so what you are proposing has merit based on use of the RB position from the first part of the season. However, when you get into the nuts and bolts about projecting future touches for fantasy purposes there is a lot to factor in. Some is rather subjective and some is pretty basic common sense. For instance, while rushing attempts have been limited to 17 a game as you say...the question to ask is why and how the game script played into that. So, when projecting game scripts going forward I see 2 things that jump off the page. First off is that the overall quality of opponent takes a nose dive. We should be playing from far ahead pretty often. This would lead to a few more rush attempts a game, ideally. Second thing to look at is the often dreaded weather conditions. We have been fortunate so far this season and if the other thread on here is accurate the Bills should see better weather than they did last year. But this is still Buffalo weather which can change rather quickly. One example of the Bills is bad weather is the Bills-Falcons game from last year. While Allen still attempted 26 passes, we saw Motor and Moss combine for 28 rushes. McK had one and Allen had FIFTEEN. I suspect that will not continue. So that's 44 combined rushes on the day. I believe where you may see the difference in game scripts like this is that Motor would see his normal cold weather work load (about 20 carries). Hines, who has shown well in cold weather games may see 10-12 of those. Allen would ideally not carry 15 times. That opens a bunch of carries for Cook. Factor him in for Moss's 5 and a few of Allen's and that puts him around 10 carries before even factoring in the passing game. Again this is one example, but later in the season and playing against lesser opponents I would project an increase of running plays due to possible weather and playing from a large lead. It's not an exact science, of course...but my projections usually serve well for fantasy purposes. Bottom line...stash Jimbo Cook now...win your league later.
  5. Shakir really didn't have much fantasy value (redraft leagues) to begin with. I don't see a change. McKenzie is very TD dependent even in PPR leagues. Both should be left on the waiver wire. Cook is an interesting guy to pick up and stash if he's available. I don't see him being much value for the next month or so for fantasy....but by the time Fantasy Playoffs start he should be steadily getting 12-15 touches a game even with the addition of Hines.
  6. That's where Nyheim's an instant upgrade. As the old saying goes "Hines sight is 20/20".
  7. So many good stories involved in this game. Let the Ahmad Rashad Bowl begin: - Frazier former Viking coach - Diggs/Jefferson and the trade that made both teams better - Cook brothers - Horrible Harry Revenge Game - Vikings looking to pull a huge upset the way the Bills did last time they played - Josh's 1st hurdle. - Possible Super Bowl preview - Both teams 0-4 in Super Bowls All in all that Vikings offense is solid. Cook, Jefferson, TJ Hock and the corpse of Adam Theilin is a tough day. I think we have the guys to do well though. Gonna be a good game.
  8. When I think of a typical Bills/Jets game I expect a more low scoring, chippy, physical slogfest. I don't see this game being different. This is the kind of game I can see Josh Allen spending way too much time trying to go at Sauce to test him. Allen will win some and lose some there. I think the Jets defense will do just enough to frustrate the offense and keep the crowd into it. Jets play a lot of man so I expect the Bills to try and use McKenzie early. I'm thinking they use Sauce on Gabe for the most part and try to bracket Diggs with Reed and a safety. Don't sleep on Reed, either. He's having a great year so far. That leaves McK, Knox, Motor, Cook and newly acquired Hines to step up. Out of that group I think Cook sees the most success. Jets are pretty good against the run. I think Cook takes the Hines trade a bit to heart. Something to keep in mind...while the Bills were making a team that could beat the Chiefs...the Jets have been making a team crafted with beating the Bills in mind. The Jets have been built pretty well (sans QB) and I believe will have way more long term success than a team like the Dolphins as long as they give Saleh enough time and don't pull the plug. While Saleh does come across as a meathead coach...I do believe he's a very solid HC and might have the perfect bravado to survive the NY/NJ media. That being said...Allen does seem to play well against his defense. On their offense vs. our defense...Zach Wilson may not see the end of this game. There is no way that offensive line can slow our 4 man rush. He's going to get HIT. And while he is very elusive in the pocket he seems to like to scramble behind the line and then heave some poor pass upfield rather than tuck and run like an Allen or Mahomes would and get something out of nothing. He will throw at least 4 or 5 passes that could be intercepted. Defense just needs to catch them. I like the Jets skill position players. Wilson is the forgotten rookie on the team because of how explosive Sauce and Hall have been, but the dude can play. Berrios has many fans on this board. Carter and Robinson are a really solid RB duo. TL;dr: I like the way the Jets have been built and think they have a talented young roster. What they don't have is a QB. We do. And that QB we have will make just enough plays to pull off a 19-13 win against a surprisingly motivated and chippy young Jets team.
  9. I believe they made the move with an eye towards the salary cap for next season. They had just resigned Hines to a pretty sizable contract for a back up RB with the intent to get him more involved. Reports were he had even spent a lot of time with the WR group in camp as well. Since then they have seen Deon Jackson step up and play well in the game Taylor missed at RB. Michael Pittman came back healthy and looks like a pretty legit #1 WR and Alec Pierce has been one heck of a weapon for them. It's a chance for them to get younger and cheaper at the skill positions in what may well amount to a lost season.
  10. I'm sure if the time comes that Brandon Beane will do his due diligence on Beckham. If he's not ready to roll one other name I could kind of see the Bills looking at is T. Y. Hilton. Yes he's a tad older and has had recent injury issues as well...but he did average 14.4YPC for the Colts in 10 games last season.
  11. He has been really good. Teams are already trying to avoid him. He's also very physical which our receivers have had struggles with in the past. Also for those wondering he has been "credited" with giving up 2 TDs so far...one to Amari Cooper and the other to Myers last weekend...however both that are pinned on him were credited wrongly where he was technically "his guy" but Joyner should have picked him up. I think we don't actually see much Sauce vs Diggs. I think the Jets bracket Diggs with DJ Reed (who is quietly having a great year as well) and a safety. Lock Sauce on Gabe Davis. I do see Allen targeting Sauce quite a bit. It's a challenge and Josh doesn't shy away from that. I think Sauce will nab an INT on him...but I also see Diggs getting a short TD on one of the few matchups with Sauce. Much like the TD he undressed Lattimore on in the Saints game. Gardner did well on Chase...but also matches up very well with him. Diggs is a completely different animal. Not sure there is a better route runner in the NFL. And Allen will be the best QB he has faced. I'm excited to watch the matchup. It may be a guy from the dirty stinking Jets...but these type match ups are what make football fun.
  12. In 2018 the starting QB of the Broncos was....Buffalo Bill's back up QB Case Keenum
  13. They lost their own...correct? So they traded one that they currently were scheduled to have? Right? After making the trade with the 49ers...that pick became theirs.
  14. And that's a reason they will STAY "noncontenders". Teams making deals just for the sake of making them and burning draft picks. Not a great idea.
  15. The sky is not falling. While I cannot deny that Chubb at full strength is a good pass rusher, I'm more than happy to watch the Dolphins distribute 1st round picks (and more) like Halloween candy for players that they then need to extend to substantial contracts. Sorry, but this is a recipe for failure on many fronts. Chubb, again...good player. But the reason the Broncos backed up a brinks truck for Randy Gregory is that going into this season there were many questions around his durability and his production. He's had a few good games to start his season. a season where he's motivated to play well for that next contract. We have seen that many times in the past. Players producing in a contract year are fools gold most of the time.
  16. Beane built the team he wanted in the offseason. Getting Miller, Jones, Settle. Drafting Elam and Cook. Stealing Shakir in the 5th. Uncovering gold in Benford in the 6th. He build the team that everyone is trying to beat. We get a former All Pro CB back in the next couple weeks. Cook and Shakir are being brought along slowly to be ready for playoff time. Hamlin, Elam and Benford are gaining more and more experience and will be on point come January. AND we get to keep a full compliment of picks for next year. I want a new shiny toy for the offense just as much as anyone. However, even if we stand pat this is still the deepest roster in the NFL and is being led by the best QB in the NFL. We're good.
  17. Spending a first for Claypool when the last few drafts and looks like the next few drafts are WR rich in talent and can find very good players at WR in round 2-5 would have been a fireable offense.
  18. Claypool is a decent jack of all trades receiver. Kinda a poor, poor, poor, poor man's Deebo. Couple him up with a QB that can make plays with his legs and 2 legit RBs. Building for cold and windy days. I get the vibe. But a 2nd rounder? Eh...little rich for a team that needs to have some high draft picks to rebuild. Their OL is not much better than the Bengals.
  19. My sources have informed me that we will NOT be trading for Jaire Alexander. So that's one player we can eliminate. That leaves something like 3,519 players left.
  20. I kind of hope one of them makes this move. The problem with the Jets isn't the defense. Unless Chubb can play QB...I'd be happy to see them burn a 1st and not be inline for a QB improvement. And Miami needs to focus on young and cheaper players. They already pay big bucks to several and it will be time to put up or shut up with Tua soon. Realistically I think he's doing just enough that the Fins will try and resign him. Making this move also would make it far less likely that either team has the picks or cash to make a trade or FA splash at QB. So, yea Jets or Fins...burn that 1st and then turn around and pay big bucks on a new contract for a player that had so many questions around his productivity and durability entering this season that the Broncos went out and spent big bucks on Randy Gregory rather than extending Chubb.
  21. Nah, believe it or not it's actually ok to look at the positive side of life too. Take a moment to enjoy and be thankful for a win rather then rushing to the boards moments after a double digit win to immediately point out the negatives. Wanting and hoping for perfect play is great. A few years back I was coaching Little League. One of my pitchers threw a one hitter. Struck out something like 12 or 13. Was just a dominate performance. Kid's dad after the game looked him in the eye and told him he needs to work on his game because he gave up a hit. Point being, a bit of critical thinking is good. But there's a time and place. Take a moment. Let others enjoy. Let yourself enjoy. Wasn't that long ago we were losing games like that by 20. Enjoy the growth. The world already has one Jerry Sullivan. We really don't need more, Dorkula.
  22. Agree with you as I mentioned him late last week as well. My 2 cents: Raiders put themselves in a bind by not taking his 5th year option. Now they either have to sign him to a likely pricy second contract or let him walk in the hopes of getting a comp pick. So, in theory if the Bills (or anyone, really) were to offer a 3rd it would be higher than the comp pick they would get for him by letting him walk. At 2-5 this should be their play. I could even be talked into a 2nd as our second would be at the end of they round most likely and then we would end up potentially gaining they comp pick for letting him walk. So a late second that we would give up would possibly become a late 3rd for the services of a nice power running back. The offense has looked good so far, but we aren't that far away from the weather being an issue much like we saw last year. The Patriots game, the Falcons game...heck did we have any good weather games last year? In any even weather is going to be an issue soon and Jacobs being added to Motor and Cook just looks a lot better than the possibility of Moss getting carries because he's a "power back"
  23. Seeing the defense get run on like that wasn't ideal. But they didn't give up the big TD run, for the most part kept plays in front of them and let the Packers run the clock out on themselves. Stepped up a couple times with stops on 4th down. Had constant pressure on the QB. One INT and close to a couple more. Most importantly, gave up 17 points. The 2 TDs they did give up were from a spectacular route being run and a highlight real type catch by Doubs. Credit to both of those WRs.
  24. And I believe this was why Beane gave him a slight pay bump this year instead of a new contract. Those injuries are piling up. While he is an extremely important player on our defense...he's already missed multiple games. He's exited a couple others early due to injury. For a guy on the wrong side of 30...it's not the way to get the big new contract. If anything Beane may offer him a "prove it" deal IMO. Poyer is still good when available and playing through all the injury is a credit to what a warrior he is. But it's likely time to get younger at the position. Hope we can at least get him the ring he deserves as a parting gift. He's more than earned that.
