  1. I think it's a fair betting line. Our road schedule looks to be a beast. KC, Cincy and Philly all on the road...with a game each at Miami and the Jets. We may not lose them all...but we may drop a game at home or two as well. 10-7 is possible. 13-3 is as well. Factor in if Josh misses a game or two...other injury piling up. In short, as a betting line it seems fair. If all goes to plan, we should beat it. But it is a long season and things don't always go to plan.
  2. I said this wayyyyy up thread and I'll repeat it here. This all ends with them redoing his contract and him staying.
  3. Kincaid will be fun to watch and will see targets. But Gabe Davis rarely leaves the field. Routinely last year Davis was even the WR the rare times we had 1 WR out there because he add the blocking element. Kincaid will be out there in certain packages. Maybe 40ish snaps a game in my opinion. Barring missing time to injury Davis should be seeing a ton of targets.
  4. Peyton Manning talking about idiot kickers, Marvin Harrison and Jerry Rice on the field...and Travis Henry catches a TD. Epic clip
  5. PFF os incorrect on this. From The Athletic (Paywall) "With the 59th pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, the Bills selected Florida guard O'Cyrus Torrence. Torrence played only one season with the Gators, but over his college career split between Louisiana and Florida, he started his last 34 games at right guard and 13 games as a freshman at left guard" Draft Profile on NFL.com "He immediately stepped into the starting lineup in Lafayette, beginning 13 of 14 contests at left guard in 2019." TThat's just 2. There are many more.
  6. True. However the stances you are taking are not fact as well, though you seem to be trying to present them as such. The position is very much in a wait and see...on both ends of the conversation.
  7. That's actually not true. Torrence started out at LG. Started 13 games as a freshman at LG. Switched to RG. Now, he may be better suited for RG..but he does have the experience at LG.
  8. Can we stop using Pro Bowl as a way to quantify a player being good? Making a Pro Bowl is meaningless these days and has been for a while. Tyler Huntley was a "Pro Bowl" QB last year. Mac Jones was the year before that. Saffold "made the Pro Bowl" last year the same way Huntley and Jones did as well. Injury replacement. Now this isn't to say at one point Saffold wasn't a very good player. He was. Just wasn't that dude last year. Easy to see if McGovern can play even average it's an improvement. Likewise, even if he flops Torrence may be able to free up Bates to slide in there or perhaps even Edwards regains his form from his time with Kromer and plays the spot. Unlike what MANY complain about at RT...Buffalo has options at both G spots that are possible and even likely improvements
  9. I like Harris, but he has struggled with some injury and fumbles in his career. Murray will provide some nice insurance. Harris is talented, however if he's not what the Bills are thinking he may turn into this year's OJ Howard and Murray ends up rostered. Yet another fun camp battle to watch.
  10. Think I may have either misspoke or you misunderstood what I meant. I wasn't saying he would be #1 WR on half the teams in the NFL. I meant he could start on half the teams. Contrary to belief he actually is a solid #2...better than most have. There are options for that 2A or 2B guy on the roster. Shakir, Harty, Sheffield and even Kincaid will be given the chance to be that guy. Hopefully one of them steps up and grabs a hold of the opportunity.
  11. AJ Klein is that veteran. Dodson is a vet. Beane has pretty much said after adding Williams they feel the LB room set. They are ready to see what they have in Bernard and Spector.
  12. I'll say this...I'm interested to see who they open up the season against on Thursday. 4 reallllly solid options. Buffalo- We opened on the road last year. Not sure they will put us there 2 years in a row Cincinnati- AFCCG rematch seems like a solid choice. Miami- The return of Tyreek Philadelphia-SB Rematch On a side note...gee how fortunate that the Chiefs get these 4 tough matchups...all at home while Buffalo plays all of the same teams on the road (sans splitting with Miami, of course).
  13. First off, that's a big if. There are reasons why Jones dropped to where he did. Bailing on the Senior Bowl after 1 practice. Not doing anything at his pro day. Screams lazy and or entitled to me. Also, that undersized LB is actually listed bigger than Milano. Don't hear anyone complaining about Cookie's size. Same size or bigger than many of the top tier LBs in the NFL. The difference between Williams and Jones as football players? One works hard and has some good upside. The other may have leveled off and doesn't seem like the type that will put in the hard work to get to the next steps.
  14. And I can confirm that I am not the other one. I am not expected to sign tomorrow or any day thereafter.
  15. Agree with the bolded 100%. The "problem" with Davis is that he isn't Tee Higgins as a "#2WR". Having a second WR like that really is a rarity and not the rule. As a number 2 WR Davis would start for roughly half the teams in the NFL IMO. The only issues I do have with Davis are his ankles and his consistency...which may or may not come back to the ankle issue.
  16. And he's managed to stay pretty healthy especially for a big guy that takes on a lot of contact. Think of other top TEs. Waller and Kittle miss a bit of time. Gronk was routinely a walking MASH unit. As much as I think they guy comes off like a complete tool as a person (though I have heard he's actually very likeable when not on camera) I have to respect his durability and toughness.
  17. To me that was always a problem with both coaching and player. On the one hand they really never allowed him to come in and stick to learning/getting reps in one spot. The kinda jerked him all over a bit. On the other hand, Ford never made any spot they did try him in "his" spot. That shouldn't be an issue with Torrence. He should slide in at RG and stay there for a loooong time.
  18. For my money, Bates is almost as much of a roster lock as can be due to his versatility. Beane even talked 2 days ago about how in addition to the IOL flex, Bates can get you out of a game at tackle if need be. His cap hit isn't unreasonable. My own thoughts are Bates is a valuable back up and may even start the season at RG before Torrence eventually takes over. Next year Bates makes for an ideal bridge C while a rookie is drafted. As far as Josh's input...he gave input into Beasley and Brown coming back last year. He (I'm sure) had input into Tanner Gentry eating up a PS squad spot all these years. I could even see Hollister being someone Josh spoke up for. And we know Josh was instrumental in bringing Matt Barkley back. Luckily, he a better QB than GM 😂.Of course he'll go to bat for Morse and want him kept...but I'm hoping Beane calls the ball on this one..lol
  19. Beane has said that they wouldn't hesitate to make the moves "if it made sense". Which I believe you are right...he's not going to clear the space just to clear it. As for next season we are in FAR better shape than it looks. Looking at around being able to clear up $65-70M with restructuring and extensions. Time for Terry to get drilling.
  20. I detailed last week in another post that basically there are still moves that could be made to clear about $30M worth of cap space. Not advocating that every one of those moves SHOULD be made...but they are options. Oliver extension alone could clear anywhere from 5-7M this year. Still a lot of flexibility should the right guy come available and to get the rookie class under contract.
  21. I am with you where I expected the Bills to snag a C. There seemed to be some good ones coming in this year. As for Bates, I know they seem to like him at that spot. At very worst I think Bates backs up Morse. And while I still think Morse is a solid vet player...spending what we do on him with the concussion history is risky. I could see this being Mitch 's last year in Buffalo, taking a C next year and Bates working as a bridge starter in 2024. As you say, we shall see where it goes. But I know I'm looking forward to seeing the IOL battle that's coming up.
  22. Heading out of the draft I would much rather grab a couple of these guy over spending the money to fit DHop. For me: Ford or Ionnidis and Ingram or Quinn
  23. Yes, typically a lot of teams start to talk about guys that can help on ST in their rookie year right around the 3rd round. Easiest way to make sure that guy makes the active GameDay roster as a rookie. That doesn't mean they can't or won't contribute in other ways. You do realize that, right? Seems like a lot of teams passed on Jones. Over and over again . Why do you believe that was a miss? 32 teams felt comfortable passing on him a lot of times...betting there's reasons. Happens every year. Guys that Kiper and his type love that fall far because of other reasons. Without knowing what those reasons are (medicals, attitude, possible criminal charges coming down) first hand....kinda hard to say it is a miss. The pick of Torrence may very well free up Bates. That takes care of the C pick you want. In addition, there are other guys rostered with C flexibility. It's obvious that Beane didn't force picks for positions. That's actually a good thing.
  24. I get what you are saying as value is important. However I believe the concept of value and importance of it is somewhat overblown by fans and pundits. Sometimes it just boils down to taking a better player that can help your team and fits what you do over value.
  25. The IOL battle in camp is going to be fun to watch and see how it plays out. I would be inclined to think that McGovern is a pretty sure bet to start the season at LG. After that...who knows. I have a feeling the season will start with Morse at C and Bates at RG. Something just tells me that Torrence being a rookie will be the primary backup to start. But someone is going to get "Wally Pip'd" there and if Torrence sees the field due to injury I don't see him heading back to the bench. I like the extra picks next year for multiple reasons. As stated, yes the next class looks to be stronger. Also, it opens up flexibility to slide up and down the draft board a bit next year. Late round picks are excellent deal sweeteners. The extra draft capital also lends to the idea that with the extra picks in his pocket, Beane would be more likely to be a buyer at the trade deadline should we need to add someone to bolster the roster. All good things. I'm really excited to see this rookie class in action. From the highlights I've watched Williams looks to be something McD was looking for. Tackles through people and plays with some edge to him. Now on to the 2nd wave of FA haha.
