  1. I would say the bolded aren't necessarily weak positions, however I would classify them as "unknown". We have a rather large group of guys in the MLB mix. We don't yet really know what The young guys there will bring. Spencer Brown, if you go back to his rookie year he played reasonably well. Off year last year due to possibly the back injury. We don't know. We will see. While I would agree EDGE could use some help the continued narrative on this board and others about WR2 is ludicrous. Davis is a suitable WR2. He is NOT a WR 1B which is what people expect him to be. He's not Tee Higgins, who people often try and compare his stats to. He would literally start as a WR2 on at least half of the teams in the NFL. If the Bills can get Knox, Kincaid and one of the new WRs to be more productive as well as show some semblance of a running game it would free Davis up to be an even bigger weapon. A pretty standard way to attack the Bills offense last year was to bracket cover Diggs and put a CB1 on Davis because no one else could step up as a threat. If we have one more guy step up teams have to play a bit more balanced.
  2. In a VERY small way...Coach McDermott. Him taking over the defense is him betting on himself. Not saying that is a bad idea because he was a HECK of a DC. We win it all or come close with amazing defense and he is even more secure in his spot (if it's possible because his job security may be among the safest in the NFL). But, a poor result couples with poor defense in the playoffs and perhaps Pegula starts questioning things a bit. It's pretty well documented that Terry loved Mahomes coming out and McD was a main driving force not to take him at the spot. Pegula has already seen Mahomes send the Bills home from the playoffs twice. Not saying he's on the hot seat...but another defensive failure with him at the helm to the guy that McD talked Pegula out of...it just may get a bit uncomfortable for Sean.
  3. I hear he did so well they are considering letting him join the battle for the MLB spot.
  4. I can't believe Dalton Kincaid hasn't been put up there yet. Total snub job. Ralph is cheap.
  5. Travin Howard Ron Howard Howard the Duck Doesn't matter, they all have the same shot to make the roster
  6. Odd move, for sure. Camp body with the possibility to latch on perhaps?
  7. I totally get what you are saying, however with offensive line play across the NFL being what it is, a two contract OG is in that Pro Bowl mention range more often than not and even vying for NFL All Pro honors be it even second or third team. I would take that from a 2nd round pick at any position. I do also think he has room to grow. He seems very coachable and I do believe landing in Buffalo may be one of the best places he could have landed for it with the organization having the growth mindset.
  8. Glad to see you coming around on him, Gunner!
  9. Quadruple reverse halfback option passes all day long....
  10. Now hear me out. We convert Josh Allen to TE. Then swing a trade with the 49ers for Lance. Convert him to RB. THEN make a move for Justin Fields and have him replace Gabe Davis at WR. We play with no set "QB" and any of Fields, Lance, Allen or even Diggs or Knox or Cook can take the snap on any given play. Defend THAT.
  11. Wait, did they hint at a return for LaDainian Tomlinson at the end? Are they bringing him back to replace Eckler after they send him to the Bills for a 6th rounder in 2025? Could it be happening?!?!?! No.
  12. I have a feeling this will peel of into the old Tasker argument...lol. I think a few guys should be in that aren't. Steve Wisniewski, Neil Smith, Lomas Brown are some guys that stack up well to HoF players of their era. I also like to mention possibly the best weapon of the modern era at the FB position: Larry Centers.
  13. Am I seeing that right that we don't play back to back away games all year except for Phiily and KC... which is split by a bye week? And a LATE season bye week? Really like that. Don't like being on the road in Mia week 18...but it won't be 125 degrees on our sideline and hopefully we have things wrapped up in the East by then anyway.
  14. Just wait. The NFL hired new script writers for this season. I heard a preview that says Justin Herbert will get the Chargers to the playoffs, only to knock up Jackson Mahomes causing BOTH the Chargers and Chiefs to have too much drama and lose playoff games. Meanwhile we find out that Joe Burrow is not really Joe Burrow, but his evil twin Moe Burrow. Where is the real Joe Burrow? Tune in next season as Aaron Rodgers retreats to the darkness to seek answers to that and more....on Soap.
  15. That was the talk earlier in the off-season. Not sure that still happens now. Miami drafted Devon Achane and the report was he was the guy McDaniel was pounding the table for. Not sure they sink more assets into the RB room. I think if the Vikings are going to release him doing it now after FA and the draft is really doing him dirty as many teams have set themselves up at RB.
  16. There's been talk of that all off-season. Not sure how it plays out at this point (might he take a pay slash to stay in Minny? Who knows.) However I feel pretty confident in saying that should he become available I don't see Beane being in pursuit. Great player when healthy..but chronic shoulder issues are adding up. It would sink more resources into a room that should be improved already.
  17. LOVE it! Last year we were the toast of the NFL in the preseason and first month of the season. Every team brought their "A" game. I'm hoping that this year it's the Bills that get a chip on their shoulder and play to prove something. I mean, Acho is an idiot and just says things to get attention. But I do think a LOT of media will be off the Bills bandwagon this year.
  18. Opa, looks like someone came back. Must have got that new Fisher Price Speak and Say with WiFi ability. The cow says "moo," Jimmy. The cow says "moo".
  19. You say $1.3M like that's a high end deal. It's really not. The Bills cut OJ Howard after one TC and ate around $3M in dead cap alone. As far as "Going against what he said"...2 points to make there. First, you do realize that when players do these press conferences they are just saying what needs to be said, right? Hitting the checklist so to speak. "Play in front of the best fans in the NFL" or "Win a ring"...these are things that get the fans to say "Oh I like this dude". Second, players have lives, hopes and goals outside of a football field. Sounds weird...but like us they are more than their job. Is his priority carrying a football or setting himself up for life after football? I have no idea what his mindset is....but neither do you. Murray has also eluded to his goals in the local community. This Center he's opening is proof of that and him trying to plant roots around here. As far as am I making stuff up...well, I have said that I am going by a gut feeling. So, in a sense of the word, yeah...it's kind of what people do on a message board. Offer their read on a situation. Also, there have been quite a few times where a player on the PS will turn down an offer for a roster spot with another team to stay where they are. This isn't unheard of. Especially when it's something the team has discussed with a player and laid a plan out before hand. The Bills would also have the option to elevate Murray to the active roster should another team try and poach him. Last year he started out on the Saints PS. Shows he's open to a practice squad slot, does it not? Further more, should another team come sniffing around for him The Bills have the option to elevate him off the PS to the active roster to block it. The Saints chose not to last year when the Broncos came for him. And the Broncos came after him only when they lost...what 4 RBs before that? And not one other team had come after him before that.
  20. Few things stood out for me: - I love how involved Terry Pegula is without taking control. He's knowledgeable but lets his football guys make the decision. - I realize footage can be spliced anyway they want it and I am certain a lot hit the cutting room floor....but Beane has a real good feel for the way boards will fall. - On one of the plays they show for Torrence they show him pulling and leading a run play. Maybe not as nimble as some...but gets to his spot and seals off a wall. Great play. - Hard not to like Dorian Williams as a person. Skepticism aside...he will be one that's easy to root for. I think he'll surprise some here. - Everytime I hear Beane talk about Shorter I can't help but to think of things he had to say about Hodgins last year. Likes the size AND that he can play ST...which is one big reason Hodgins was expendable to them. - Torrence has a cat named CeeCee.
  21. I swear everytime this thread gets bumped my initial reaction is "Oh, FFS what is it now?"
  22. Like I said, just a gut feeling, but I think he's in the 'more than football" stage of his career. They very well may have given him a slightly higher guarantee to get him to agree to this kind of placement. FWIW, Buffalo did the same IIRC with Duke Johnson last year at the start of the season. Besides, with 3 call-ups and the better than average chance we get injury to the RB room...even if he starts on PS I would figure he'll be moved up by the end of the year. Good way to keep the old guy fresh as well haha
  23. Could very well be. However with his off field endeavors, I could honestly see him turning down an active spot with another team to stay here and get that underway and running. Hence the "wink and nod" where if there is a roster spot needed he's one to get put on PS with the mutual understanding that he's staying local.
  24. The bigger question may very well be: If he's cut why would he want to come back and potentially be buried on the Bills depth chart? Have to imagine he would have options for some teams that have a path for him to see the field. CBs are always in demand.
