  1. I have my own theory on what happened based on what we have been told and the timeline of certain events. Goes a little like this. I firmly think that Beane had a deal in place with Miami's former GM, Chris Grier with the terms that we saw. I think once Grier went to Ross to inform him of the trade that Ross disagreed and this along with the tension of the season they have had, led them to "mutually part ways". After the firing Beane called back and kind of got the run around after being told it's a done deal. I think Miami strung things out long enough that Buffalo didn't have a great chance to pivot to someone else with enough time to make a deal that made sense without making a severe overpay. Like I said, I see Beane moving on Waddle as an admission of his mistake. I'm HOPING that is is an indication that he will be very active either getting a top WR, or moving up the board to draft one. With the schedule we still have to play and how we looked, we could be starting in the 18-25 pick range. A move up the board from that point wouldn't shock me
  2. Absolutely correct. I think many just see these players as faceless interchangeable parts. And in the larger aspect of the game, that's not totally inaccurate. The game will chew you up, spit you out and move on. But, fans don't often enough acknowledge that these are real people that face some of the same stresses and downs that we all do.
  3. Agree. I'm going to put this as delicately as I can here to try and avoid backlash. Allen has always been at his best when he's taken extra time in the off-season to work on his mechanics. I think that's not up for debate, either. This last off-season, look at what his life was. Guy got married. Took some (much deserved) time away. We see he apparently made about 50 different commercials. He was busy on the media circuit as the newly announced MVP. Guy had a lot to do For all the great things Josh can do, slowing down time isn't one. There are only so many hours in a day and days in the week. He's correct his feet have been off all year. So has his arm. I cannot remember a season when I've seen him sidearm so many passes. I believe you are correct. His mechanics need another overhaul.
  4. I mean to me, it's ok to be a little smug before the season starts. And it's really ok to be wrong from time to time. I would say being willing to give up multiple high draft picks at the deadline to get a WR is an admission of a mistake. I'm actually curious to see if this translates to the off-season and he makes some moves to redo the WR room.
  5. I'll stick with Prater.
  6. My apologies to Tanner Gentry.
  7. Oh absolutely. I put both his fumble and INT square on his shoulders as poor decisions. He also missed some throws and missed some open plays. In my mindset I'm not as interested in just pointing the finger at him and saying "You played like crap." I'm far more curious about the WHY he played like crap and why it continues. Leave Josh's Nuts outta this lol
  8. If your ready that with snark, there really was none intended. If you were insulted, that wasn't the goal. However, somehow, you still managed to miss the point entirely. Three times in your hypothesis, you lay the blame at McDermott's feet. You paint Coleman as a victim. At least that's how it sounded to me. The whole trope of "Oh something bad is going on...pin it on McDermott... somehow" is so overdone. Yes, we agree, he's immature. But you profess he's basically a rebellious teenager pushing back against perceived bad handling. My slant is he's immature because he's never been in a place where he has to work and doesn't know or care enough to do it. The blame should start and end with Coleman IMO.
  9. I think his struggle this year is about 3 things 1. He doesn't have targets that get open. I saw on another thread he actually has the longest "time before he throws" in his career. That's gotta be frustrating to have your internal clock winding down and no on to throw to time and time again. I don't think he's had this little talent around him since Wyoming. 2. This is resulting in him seeing more pressure and far more hits in the pocket than he's had before. Those hits add up and force him to leave a clean pocket because, again he know he's held the ball too long because no one is open. 3. He's lost faith in something. Be it the skill level of the players around him or maybe Joe Brady and his offense. Maybe it's the things he's asked to do are things you ask a normal QB like Mac Jones to do and he's bored. But he, at least to my eyes, doesn't seem as invested with what is happening on the field as he was. Then, you can add in some outside things. Getting married is a huge life change. Realizing you're more than "just a ball player" and thinking, hey, Super Bowl or not...life goes on. Forces someone to look ahead a bit.
  10. So your self admitted long shot hypothesis is "Blame McDermott". How refreshing. I have a hypothesis as well, one that I happen to thing is far more likely. You take a good kid, you put him in high school. He's physically dominant above his peers. Doesn't have to put in the work and can still shine due to physical gifts. Then put him in college. He's not as physically dominant, but enough where he can still get noticed. Keeps getting told how awesome he is and after a while he buys into it. Finally that kid gets drafted into the pros. His physical stature no longer can dominate. Oh, he's still a good kid and all, but he never learned the work ethic to succeed. His coaches and even some of his teammates try and motivate him behind the scenes. However because they don't tell him he's amazing like he's been told his whole life, he can't handle the criticism. He stops caring. He stops working. He falls behind players like Shavers. Puts out terrible effort and is possibly late to meetings and distant when he is there. The coach even tries benching him as a lesson. Coleman withdraws further. He cares a lot less. He hasn't learned the tools over his lifetime to cope with needing to work to be the best. He has a very short NFL career and is just happy to have made it.
  11. I believe it was actually former Buffalo Bill, Steve Freeman. I bet that's who you're thinking about.
  12. Picturing you say this with a Blank Stare is absolutely hysterical. He was wrong. That's not debatable. But he's taken the same type hard-line stance with some guys and nailed it. He defended Spencer Brown and said if he could be healthy he could be special. He was right. He hoped Coleman could take steps forward in his second year...and he didn't. He was wrong I won't judge him on believing in the picks he's made. His judgement from me comes more in how fast he can admit to himself it's not going to work out and correct the mistake. If Coleman plays his entire contract here without significant steps forward, I would almost be shocked at this point. I'm gonna be bold and say he's trade bait this off-season.
  13. This is going to be a very fun thread.
  14. He knows he can do it. And we know he can do it and when he does it it's beautiful. And much more fun to watch. There are also times where he can't do it. And it's ugly. Real ugly.
  15. Yeah, gonna be fun when he gets fired for being horrible at his job. Hopefully, Bills fans remember to troll him hard when it happens.
  16. It's what the team is built for. However, instead of Anderson, I would like to see Reggie Gilliam used more in that spot. He can take snaps as a TE3. He can also motion out and see snaps at FB. He could be a sneaky asset in short yardage situations.
  17. Exactly. As soon as he's in football shape (and he should be close after going through the Packers TC). At the VERY least he's a good return guy and that can be enough to get him a game day jersey. Then let him run a few Go routes to try and keep safeties back. Can open a lot. Who are you finding at this point in the season? Justin Jefferson isn't walking through the door. This is a guy that has Super Bowl experience, BIG GAME EXPERIENCE, speed and is a good return guy on top of it. He also had made visits with other teams, most notably the Saints and Steelers. So, no he wasn't just sitting home playing Battlefield 6 and eating Nachos
  18. It's a valid question. Will he even make the roster and see playtime is another valid one. This could be a good move that helps elevate our WR core...or it could be the WR version of when we signed Leonard Fournette to the practice squad. Time will tell
  19. You very well may be right. Jets have won 2 in a row and Thursday games can be really odd The Patriots this year remind me a lot of the Bills the first time we made the AFCCG against Kansas City. As you said, probably a year too early for them, but the conference is weak so they very well may make a deep push. And for the record I would absolutely hate that game being the one to decide the AFC Super Bowl participant. Either KC make a fourth straight SB or Diggs gets to his first.
  20. The media spin on Jackson was that he was never being counted on for this year. But with both Bosa and AJE having expiring contracts the plan for him was always for the 2026 season. Poor use of a 3rd round pick but ok. Now, it looks like he will miss a lot of if not all the off-season program. So next year, he won't likely be ready to be full go, leaving it kind of a potential lost season working his way back. But man....in 2027...LOOK OUT!
  21. Always seems to be a guy that has been playing well and I'm looking forward to seeing play again. So wrap Cole Bishop in bubble wrap.
  22. Valid. My hope is that Hardman actually has been used as a deep threat before. Moore and Samuel, even though they have speed is not something either is strong at. Being a legit deep threat takes more than just a fast 40 time. It's the Willie Gault rule. You can have all the speed in the world but if you can't track that deep pass it's no good.
  23. He beat the Bills and should feel good. Troll them. Trolling the fans is such a cowardly thing to do.
  24. What a complete dink. First win over Buffalo in how long. Guys job is hanging by a thread, but he has some time to troll at the Elbo.
  25. He brings straight line speed which Samuel isn't really that guy. He has some ability to track those deep balls as well. Samuel ran a 4.31 how many years and lower leg injuries ago? Look, as I said up thread...no this isn't a fix all. But you're not going to find many better options at this point in the season. Being they were rumored to be in on Waddle and now this, it shows me they realize they need help there. Makes me a little more hopeful Beane works out a big trade on an established WR or moves up the board to get one.
