  1. Not only that but he really doesn't have many years behind him playing football. He still has a TON of room to grow and get better with experience.
  2. I have faith that 10/10 Josh Allen will cover for his teammates. Also, since he was in town and even at the facility perhaps Diggs should have used his own voice rather than be content to have Allen sit there and speak on his behalf.
  3. No. I'm literally saying what I said. That next off-season there is a potential out if they trade him. Not saying they will. But the finances do make it plausible to happen in a worst case scenario. As for the bolded it's rarely a good idea to speak in absolutes. No telling what will happen over the next year.
  4. So we're expected to believe that the guy that: -Had several emotional outbursts on the sidelines last year including one that appeared he was full on crying and McD had to coddle him -Was last seen yelling at his QB on the sideline -Then tried to run out of the stadium after the playoff loss -Spent the off-season saying semi cryptic things in interviews and on social media -Doesn't participate in voluntary OTA -Misses Day 1 of mandatory SUddenly has a problem that doesn't involve football in any way. To quote Josh Allen: "Okay"
  5. Disagree. First potential out is next year. A post June 1st trade forces the Bills to eat $8.8M in dead cap but still clears $19M off the cap IIRC.
  6. If it's a simple restructure almost every contract has the language baked in that the team can do it. Pretty standard. If the team wishes to alter the deal by adding void years and such then they need consent
  7. One would think that if everything was on the up and up McD would have said something to the effect of: "Yea, Stef won't be out there today. But he's been in the building going through the med process. We will be taking it day by day." Not cut off the questioning and label it "very concerned". That right there points to there possibly being much more beneath the surface going on.
  8. Diggs may not "need" camp. But if he was as big of a "competitor who wants to win" maybe showing up and working with his team and the new faces in the WR room is a better way to accomplish that. It's kinda how a team captain may be looked at to perform. Stef is being all about Stef. Not he team. Not winning. Not improving. He's had months to get over any squabble he had with coaching or Allen or whatever else has his knickers in a bunch. Did his photo shoots get in the way?
  9. So looking like an unexcused no show on day one and the last we got from him was running out of the locker room after a playoff loss. This is what we call things trending downward. Will be interesting to see if Allen has anything to add after practice.
  10. Ralph may have been cheap...but he was also rather sassy at times.
  11. Oh, most likely not. This situation screams of a signing just before the opening week...much like TJ Watt a couple years back. Problem there for the Giants is if that happen will he be in "football shape" week 1.
  12. Olivers "big new contract" reduced his cap hit this year and got him for cheaper that what this year's cap hit was for next year as well. Plus has a reasonable out following that year. He then took that money and signed arguably the best vet pass rusher left on the market which was an area many here agreed they needed help at. So, yes it was an excellent use of resources.
  13. If he hasn't signed his tender then he's not under contract and not eligible to be fined.
  14. It's been over 30 years. Pretty sure it's time to move on.
  15. The ideal situation is to get paid for a contender. Past that, yes getting paid matters for star athletes when they consider where to work next...just like it does for most human beings. Championships are great but by and large the matter more to a fanbase then those who work there.
  16. Assuming he is there the talk will turn to reading wayyyyy too much into whatever he says in a press conference.
  17. I think Schoen was put in a really really difficult position by their unexpected playoff run. On the one hand I fully believe their plan was to move on from Jones and possibly Barkley and revamp the offense going forward. Hard to sell to the fan base that they are trying to win while getting rid of the starting QB and team MVP in Barkley after making the playoffs. So they vastly overpaid for Jones because they had to get either him or Barkley under contract so they could use the Franchise tag on the other. Then they tagged Barkley at $10.1M. Problem there is they just set his baseline price with that. So that's $50M for Jones and Barkley... Compounding that is, they really weren't a good team last year. I get it, you are what your record says and their record got them into the playoffs. But anyone that watched a good portion of their games knows that the way they won last year isn't sustainable. They played a lot of poor teams...and barely won those. I'm hoping there is another surprise season out of them but I'm expecting a major step back this year for the G-Men.
  18. I am part of the "never pay a RB a big 2nd contract" camp. However, I do at least see Saquon's point of view. Giants had a solid season last year and it was in large part due to him. Guy had 1,650 all purpose yards. More rushes than he ever had in his career. Targeted almost 80 times on top of that. Double digit TDs. Meanwhile Danny Dimes tossed for 3200 yards and 15 TDs...and they found $40M for him? Barkley has said he doesn't want to reset the RB market. He's looking for a fair deal for a guy his caliber and production. I can't say as I blame him.
  19. If only there was a logical and well discussed reason why that happened. But that can't be. Nope. Every single situation is exactly the same. Again, brilliant. Melvin Ingram? 🤣
  20. I get where you are going but to say the only played Elam due to injury is flat out incorrect. While Benford did start he and Elam were in a pretty tight rotation early in the year. Elam was also seeing plenty of reps in the playoffs. The reason for that is well known. Benford was just more ready as he came in with a background for the zone defense whereas Elam is more press and had more to learn. Elam's ceiling was and remains much higher than Benford which is why he was selected.
  21. While I do think they reached on both their first rounders at the end of the day they still ended up with 2 guys that will help the club. 2 excellent football players. Their 2nd and 3rd rounds I actually liked a lot. I think they win that division by 2 games.
  22. Yes, because they will absolutely view a guy they liked enough to move up in the 1st round exactly the same as they do a guy they landed in the 5th round. Brilliant.
  23. The Giants. The Buffalo connection with Daboll and Schoen makes it easy and I like watching Barkley along with there being a bunch of ex Bills.
