I can't blame them for trying to land a perceived franchise QB. If we didn't have Allen we would have BEGGED to make that trade at the time. That trade turned out bad. I personally think the trade for Sean Payton was worse even if it cost a bit less.

Will we learn anything the next three weeks?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Billsfan1972's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don't undersell the Buccaneers. They aren't a bad football team...and definitely not on par with what the Giants or Patriots are right now. And as far as Baker Mayfield...well his team won the last time he played us. They, at least, have some playmakers on both sides of the ball and can be dangerous. -

The Giants are bad. And severely banged up. -
Another Trade Target - Harrison Phillips - Minnesota Vikings
BuffaloBillyG replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall
Right now the Bills should not have any "trade targets". They should be seeing what an expanded role for Settle and Poona Ford looks like. Reconfigure after a couple weeks. In the next 2 weeks we play 2 of the worst offenses in the NFL. This is excellent timing for Buffalo to get a good luck at new starters and evaluate from there. If the results are poor, I am sure there will be some activity to look for help. McDermott said yesterday, they will look for help from within first and go outside if needed.- 43 replies

Yes but need for your team still has to dictate. Obviously, if the player fits a need you go all in if another contender is trying as well. But if it just to stack a player at a position you don't need filled it's a waste of cap space and possibly hindering the opportunity to shore up your squad in another area. For the Bills right now EDGE is not a need.

It really shouldn't. You sign players that fit your scheme and your team. If you're adding players (and I assume you would be talking about high level guys) that don't improve what you do just so another team can't sign, ultimately you are paying big bucks and getting reduced output back from it. Horrible way to manage a team. Now if the player fits and can improve your team...so be it.

Wink's not wrong. -
If you make moves just to prevent another team from signing a guy you are running your organization poorly. Should we also call and overpay the Jets for Mecole Hardman? A 2nd could accomplish it. As far as should they have interest...IMO no.

No. Bill is wanting that record. He's not taking a year off from trying to win. That said, I think he sees the writing on the wall and that it's all coming to a close for him. Having to face life without TB12 has taken its toll and exposed him as a GM AND as a HC. Unless there is a major turn around in the back half of the season, I fully expect this to be his last year. And I don't believe they have the talent to turn it around.

TV Broadcast Maps and Schedule - NFL Week 6 2023 (October 15)
BuffaloBillyG replied to chongli's topic in The Stadium Wall
This whole slate of games this week looks like a major *woof* week. Thankful for RedZone channel. At least I can keep up on my fantasy players and not have to get in invested in any of these games. -
Are we pretending that pompous arse Sean Payton doesn't exist?😂😂 Narrative. It can change weekly. Right now because he's playing out of his mind them trading for CMC is a genius move and everyone should have done it. 3 weeks from now if he's hurt again it will be "oh yeah, forgot he's made of styrofoam." Very rarely do the teams that throttle everyone early in the year end up winning it all. They are playing well right now but it's a long season and the NFC is a lot tougher than most give it credit for. Let's see who is still healthy come December/January.

Andre Reed HoF Ring Stolen in London
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah, that dude is an idiot... However as a side note I remember when the Bills used to come play local teachers in Basketball in the off season. Those were some really awesome times. My mom used to take me whenever they came close. I still remember seeing Don Beebe full sprint up the court and dunk one. Yes, little Beebe. Guy was an insane athlete. -
Week 6, NJ Giants v. Bills - Predict the Score

I was worried we were too beat up for a big win. Then I saw the Giants injury report. They's beat up AND bad. Will be a nice relaxing Sunday night for Bills fans. Buffalo- 38 Giants- 16 -
Jesus, even our former players got screwed in London. This is a shame.

Daboll misses Josh. -
See, now I think that's the first step to getting rid of Bill all together. We all know how petty Belichick can be. It's actually one of his only redeeming traits IMO. The second Kraft strips away GM duties Bill would resign. He's had full power for far far too long to share it at this stage of his career. He's not taking what would equate to a demotion and sticking around.

I like that in the next 2 weeks we play the Giants and Patriots. It's an outstanding chance for guys like Williams and Elam to build some confidence. It will give McDermott an opportunity to tweak the defense to the new players in the lineup. Gives Von and Poona a chance to get back in the flow of the game. Elam against Kirk/Ridley and Williams missing tackles on ETN in their first extended action of the season was a tough task. -

He does, but it's fair to wonder if it's him not being open or Dallas spreading the ball that's the cause. I don't watch Cowboys All 22 so I can't answer. -

Not always, but typically teams that have to rely on trickery have to do so because of severe talent difference between them and an opponent. Catch a team off guard and get a cheap score here and there. Honestly with all the new moving parts on the defense it would be a really good idea. Banking that one of our 2 young LBers over pursue a play or if they can get an extra step or 2 on our Safeties with their lack of make up speed....it could make a difference. Not enough to win....but at least it will be fun. -

This weekend the Giants team features several former Buffalo Bills. I believe there's a good chance it will feature a future Buffalo Bill or two. We all know the relationship that exists between Beane and Schoen. I have no doubt that the two will be having a lot of discussion this week. With the way the Giants season is going they could be sellers real real soon. I'll be watching the Giants to see who flashes and may catch Beane's eye. -
And we play the Giants this week. Now anything can happen but their line has been historically bad this year.

This may be a fun one to watch. Lamb is due a contract and Jones is saying he shouldn't see four targets a game. Interesting. Maybe they move him? -
