Lance Zierlein: Bills should draft 2 WR in the first 3 rounds
BuffaloBillyG replied to Beck Water's topic in The Stadium Wall
Oh I'm not advocating for WR in rounds 1 and 2 and unless WRs were at the top of his board when he picks...he likely won't. I actually think it's more likely he ends up WR in rounds 2 and 5 than both 1 and 2. -

Problem with that is you're one injury away from that saying Knox, Samuel and Shakir or Kincaid, Shakir and Hollins which doesn't sound as impressive. -
Latavius Murray has stem cell therapy in South America
BuffaloBillyG replied to WotAGuy's topic in The Stadium Wall
I like Murray. Seems like a real good dude. And if he wants to keep playing I wish him nothing but health and the best of luck finding a team. Just hope it's not here. Don't get me wrong, guy has had a lot of production. Wish we grabbed him 3-4 years before we did. But man the tread really looked off the tires past midpoint last year. -
To be fair...it's only unpopular because it's a terrible move. Both logically and financially. Literally couldn't be a worse idea. Literally.

I wonder if after all the vets we jettisoned, the league may view Jets/Dolphins as the week 18 AFCE game that could be for playoff seeding division ect. That would likely put us against NE instead in the final week.

Buffalo Bills QB3 - Sam Hartman (QB, Notre Dame)

He's no Gibran Hamdan. He's Gardner Minshew with muscles. -
Micah Hyde Charity Softball Game-May 19th
BuffaloBillyG replied to BuffaloBillyG's topic in The Stadium Wall
If I had to guess and this is PURE speculation... I'm betting the Bills have 2 different standing offers to him. One is to return as a player, possibly in a diminished role with a salary that reflects that. The second would be as a member of the coaching staff as an assistant in some capacity with the DBs. McDermott has spoken on him as a potential future coach in the past but Hyde not being ready for it as he felt he could still play. My guess is that Hyde is weighing the doctor's advice concerning his injury against his desire to be on the field. Maybe he takes an entire year off to see where his body's at but at his age he doesn't have time on his side. I feel we see him back is some capacity next season either as a role player or on the sidelines with a cap and whistle. -
Alphamock Draft - v1.0 for first round
BuffaloBillyG replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
I wouldn't call it actively tanking. More having a long term vision. I do think Payton is arrogant enough to think he can win some games with a guy like Stidham. -
Alphamock Draft - v1.0 for first round
BuffaloBillyG replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yea, not going to dispute that your logic, reasoning and thoughts are spot on. They are. The NFL in 2024 is all about the QB and if you don't have one...ya gotta get one. Unfortunately, there is sometimes a spot where sound logic, reasoning and common sense don't translate to what teams do. I believe this is one of those times. Here's where my thoughts differ. I think Denver views this year as a mulligan season. They weren't overly active on the FA QB market even though there were some affordable options there. The only QB in on a top 30 visit for them that is known is Penix. I think there is a strong possibility Sean Payton is going to roll with Jarrett Stidham and a later round rookie QB for one season as they retool this year and get back to a healthy cap number next year. Getting a Penix or Nix this year does very little other than wasting a year of their rookie cap number on what could be a very down year either way. Stidham will run the offense the way Payton wants. But he will also keep them in contention for an early pick next year. That's where their QB of the future is IMO. -

Alphamock Draft - v1.0 for first round
BuffaloBillyG replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
It's a good fit. But as much as everyone wants to mock a QB to them, I strongly feel like Denver goes in a different direction than WB round 1. Guess we'll see soon enough. -
Says in the announcement that his future is still up in the air. Also says he's not "currently" with the team. Wonder if he has a handshake with Beane that is pretty much a "Hey if you're playing next year let me know and we'll get a deal".

Alphamock Draft - v1.0 for first round
BuffaloBillyG replied to Alphadawg7's topic in The Stadium Wall
Nice mock, Alpha. I'm of the mind that Denver does NOT go QB in RD 1. Feels like they may be a sneaky team for a WR after moving Juedy and Sutton being possibly on the way out. Or if the Jets choose Odunze over Bowers then they may grab Bowers. And I believe that Penix will slip to round 2, yes even past Seattle. I can totally see KC moving to the mid to late 20s for OT help. Great call. All in all, good work with solid reasoning. -
True it would be something that needed further inspection. And I'm almost sure that this information that is new for us is not catching any NFL GMs off guard this morning. By now they have had time to dig deeper if there were concerns.

Weird. Because you compare those hypothetical made up players to a player with diabetes. Then go on to say that no one would draft your made up players in the first three rounds...but players with diabetes HAVE been drafted in the first round before. Off the top of my head Jay Cutler and Patrick Peterson happen to be 2 examples. And please note: I didn't call you ignorant as a person. I said you may be ignorant of the treatment of diabetes. Big difference. A really smart person like yourself should be able to see that difference.
-
Comparing someone with Type 1 diabetes to the extremes that you list... including being an amputee... doesn't make you crude, crass or lack empathy. It makes you seem rather ignorant in the management of diabetes. Not all disability is the same. But to further answer your question...that 5' or 340lb QB...what's their tape look like? That kicker that has 1 arm...how's his leg and what effect has having 1 arm had on his ability to put the ball through the uprights? Do you have any context for any of your far fetched hairbrained scenarios....or are you just flat out saying that anyone that doesn't have A1 medicals and isn't typical is less than?

Best examples of failed 1st rounders who revived their careers?
BuffaloBillyG replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just wait. The Josh Rosen redemption era is about to hit. -
Being this isn't a car but a human being, literally every player being drafted has some kind of defect or flaw. Just because it hasn't made the draft gossip list yet doesn't mean it's not there or known in the draft room. The key is finding a guy with the flaw you can manage. Type 1 is very manageable. Exactly. It's manageable. Just have to see what works for his body. To me this reeks of one of those "concerns" on a guy leading up to the draft that we see every year.

Epic, Hypothetical Trade Scenario: Would ya?
BuffaloBillyG replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
I mean, sure we already have Josh Allen. But those are draft picks. A draft pick can turn out to be anything...heck we could even end up with the next Josh Allen! Something about a bird in the hand being better than two in a bush applies here, I believe. So I'm disinclined to acquiesce to your request. Means 'no'". -
And what if we draft someone else and they get dehydrated? Get a migraine? Sudden onset diarrhea? Stuff happens. Wonder how nervous the Ravens are about that happening with Mark Andrews during a critical spot in a game. It's manageable. Yeah, there's extra steps but I would expect a professional medical staff would be out in front of it instead of being reactionary. If as a team you have to take a kid with this talent off your board or drop them way down then it's maybe time to reevaluate how good of a staff you employ.
-
If they take him off the board for this they are complete fools. He's a young guy who is likely still learning to control his blood sugar. He'll have access to top of the line world class dieticians and medical staff. So every great once in a while his sugar may get low and he has a bad morning. If a professional coaching staff can't handle and regulate that that's pretty pathetic.

"We could see some teams move up. Some may move back. Even so, some may pick where they are scheduled. We also hear there may possibly be players selected in EACH of the 7 rounds. Nothing to confirm any of this, so be on the lookout. You heard it here first".🤣
-
Is it, though? He says that they haven't heard anything about it...but basically if could possibly maybe sorta happen. But nothing has been said. He sounds like someone posting here tbh😂😂
