  1. ESPN used to be an all day watch. Flip it on and have SportsCenter in the background all day. Now? It's a nauseating bunch of know it all's that say things not to educate or report on what happened in the world of sports...but to cause controversy and get their name out there. They moved away from intelligent sportscasters to more and more former athletes who prove that those that actually play the game are often the least knowledgeable about it. There are of course some exceptions to that, but for every Nate Burleson there are 20 Emmanuel Achos.
  2. No one said he will play scared man. As a fan knowing if he gets hurt our season goes nowhere, I'm allowed to have some trepidation.
  3. You can be a seller as well as a buyer. Player for player trades near the deadline are something Beane has done in the past as well. I think that's more likely...but maybe Beane parts with one of his 6ths if he has to.
  4. That's what I have heard as well, however I think you are over analyzing this. We are a pass first team with a HEAVY slant on the pass game. The positive of having a plus pass blocker in that spot outweighs the negative IMO. To compensate for that, we have a whole nother side to the OL. Spencer Brown for all his issues has been a good run blocker. If Torrence wins the RG job is an excellent run blocker. Mitch Morse is very good in the pin and pull blocking scheme. Any guesses what they were practicing early in camp? Pin and pull. You're going to see a lot of runs to the right side of the offense this year. Lean into strength.
  5. A Beachum trade would be ok...but if I'm targeting an OT from Arizona I'm looking at Josh Jones first.
  6. All very valid points. Some I agree wholeheartedly with and others not. However let me ask this. Are you happier paying Morse right now as opposed to potentially having drafted Creed and had him on a rookie contract for 4 years? Then when his contract is up letting him walk and gain a potential comp pick in return. What you are saying is somewhat contridicting by saying you wouldn't have wanted the guy on the rookie contract for a 4 year stretch....yet also don't want to pay a center like we pay Morse.
  7. I was thinking Boogie...straight up. But this works too.
  8. Reading the tea leaves in this thread...I'm now convinced that Jerry won't be able to afford Parsons and is trading him to the Bills.🤣
  9. I'm with you on this. One of the biggest problems on our offense was the quick pressure right up the middle on passing plays. Enter McGovern, who has a reputation as big very solid in pass blocking.
  10. It's not that far off base IMO. That's (if he plays all 17 games) a hair under 3 catches a game. You don't think he'll average 3 catches a game? For a team that throws quite a bit that's some pretty low expectations.
  11. I think there are 3 things that may work against him. First, of course the knee. Maybe I'm off, but soreness and injury are 2 different issues to me. If it was an injury...that heals. Soreness may (and yes, this is speculation on my part) lend to the idea that it's a chronic issue. And a RB with a chronic bum knee is no bueno. Second, opportunity. Him being out has given the rest of the RB room a shot to pass him up. It looks/sounds like Murray has impressed. Third...and I can't stress this enough...he doesn't contribute on STs. Traditionally, a 3rd RB active on gameday (4th if you count Gilliam) has to play Teams. Evans does. Not sure on Mims. If Murray leaps Harris this would at best put him in the TJ Yeldon role of a vet that doesn't dress on GameDay. I actually liked the way Mims looked. Thought he was a bit slippery and decisive. Agree, Evans showed well on his lone KR opportunity. Can he continue? I actually was counting on him a bit after we signed him. Thought he'd step right into the Motor role on offense...perhaps with slightly fewer snaps. But like McDermott preaches the best ability is availability...and missing valuable reps now hurts his chances.
  12. Had not noticed that was there. Appreciate the information. Will definitely take a gander.
  13. Unpopular thing to consider: Damien Harris NOT making the team. Ultimately, I do think he makes it. However with him missing time to knee soreness already if Mimms or Evans show well enough that the Bills don't want to expose them to waivers at cutdown Harris could find himself in a delicate spot depending on the knee issue.
  14. Leads to the question...how the heck does their grading system work?
  15. Agree. Cole has always been a bit... different. I remember when we signed him he talked about turning down more money to sign with New England to come here. It's not about money for him. He's a guy that has been told his whole career that he can't do it. Too small. Too slow. He lives to prove other people wrong. That's why he wants to be on the field playing. He can't do that on a practice squad. I would guess he retires again before he takes that role.
  16. Based solely off the off season rumor market, if any body part of Josh Allen's causes the Bills anguish this year...it won't be his elbow.
  17. That's a really solid stat line for a preseason game...however in this case it feels like more information is needed. For instance, being preseason was he with the 1s working against 1s and 2s from the Lions? Did he do his damage against late in the game going against those the general public like to say are headed for grocery clerk status? How deep into the game did he play? I ask not to bash but because I didn't catch the game and don't know the answer. However usage and level of opponent really comes into play during the preseason as well.
  18. In fairness, the Bills OL is typically graded higher then it actually plays on the field. The Josh Allen factor helps them out a good deal.
  19. I said the same in another thread. I think this opens the door for Murray to end up #2. He's flashed a lot in camp when given the chance from what I have read. That said, the question becomes...if Mims or Evans play well enough that you don't want to expose one of them to waivers and Harris is showing knee soreness already...does this open the door for him to be a surprise camp cut? I think it's unlikely, yet possible.
  20. Can't find anyone saying directly who was swinging the helmet, but Dodson being removed and reprimanded opens speculation that it may have been him.
  21. On the one hand, nice to see we have a MLB with a bit of intensity. On the other hand, what an idiotic display of emotion.
  22. Welp, there's one tackle down. Likely the corresponding move to Matakevich coming off PUP
  23. I'd rather see what Williams has over going out to "get a guy" just to get one.
