It's almost as if RBs need carries to do well too. How many games would he get 8 or 9 carries and not have the ball for 2+ quarters straight?

Many RBs don't flourish in RBBC. They need touches. Opportunity. They need to be in the flow of the game. Singletary was struggling until Pierce went out. Now he's being productive. It's not a coincidence.

And with how our defense plays soft on opening drives...can almost lock in a TD for the Jets on their first possession.

Agree, it should be something that can be done and it has been. The difference in having a guy that has experience at the OC position like Shannahan did with CMC last year and a neophyte OC that is trying to learn OTJ on a team with Super Bowl aspersions. That's the main reason I never liked the Dorsey hire. If you're going with a defensive HC, the offense needs experience at OC. Dorsey deserved a chance IMO, but not here.

I think that says way more about the offense than it does picking and choosing. Why this offense is so detailed and hard to learn, yet so predictable and easy to defend was a huge part of the problem. Hopefully whoever the next OC is runs a more user friendly offense.

They are already losing their 2nd next year in the backend of the Rodgers deal. So, the plan is give up more assets for the aging WR? Cool. I mean, I'd invest in an OL so you don't end up with Rodgers on a cart and Wilson running the show....but what do I know?

That Atlanta snow game was UGLY. Here's the thing though. This season is proving if you can stay alive anything is possible. It's not who you're about to play it's when you are about to play them. Case in point, we just recently played the Bengals. When we had them, they still had Burrow and were in the midst of a hot streak. If we played them in 2 weeks...likely a whole different ballgame, no? So let's see what happens. Yes the next 2 after today are tough tasks on paper. But what does it look like if say, the Eagles lose Hurts this week? Or the Chiefs lose Mahomes? And no, I'm not saying that's the only hope or wishing injury for the Bills benefit. But as we see this year more than perhaps ever...things happen and circumstances change. One week at a time and the longer you're above water the better odds of making the playoffs....and then it's back to everyone being 0-0.

Weird that you "know" this. The Raiders just fired their HC and OC. They've won 2 of 2 since. Matter of fact there are tons of examples of this happening. Is it the norm? No. But it is possible there is some turnaround.

Unless it's recently changed and I missed it, it's been against the rules to aide a runner by pulling them forward from the front. I don't understand why that would be a foul but pushing from behind isn't. And that goes for more than the Brotherly Tush Shove. That said, the Shove is 100% defendable. You stop it on 1st down and 2nd down and don't let them get into 3rd or 4th and short. That's basic football.

I know the Jets have a great defense, but I swear if we lose to a Zach Wilson led team a third time in four outings Sean McDermott should be covered in tar and feathers and have hot wing sauce poured on his nether regions at the 50 yard line.

I think there's a pretty fair chance he's offered to stay if he accepts a pay cut, much like Mitch Morse did I believe 2 seasons back. He very well may be open to it as he would not likely fetch too much in the open market coming off 2 serious injuries. If we can bring him back and his rehab goes well he would possibly be a very solid #2 CB at a reduced rate with Rasul stepping in at CB1. This could also lead to Benford working at safety some and Dane Jackson being brought back to battle a FA and/or rookie for 3rd boundary CB spot and Kaiir Elam getting a token opportunity.

Originally, the sideline reporter concept was excellent. It was what you described and more. Most of the time it was former players that could give some insight to different aspects in real time. Injuries and such. Siragusa was excellent at it. Even Jay Feely was good...providing things we wouldn't fully get from a kickers POV (turf conditions, wind ect). Even back in the day, OJ was good at it. There really was a solid place for them. I really hate to sound a certain way, however it seemed over time those positions were taken by unqualified "pretty faces" and it became more of a fluff piece position.

I'm sure Allen has given his input. It was pretty heavily implied that last year he really wanted Beasley and Brown back. I've also heard that Josh had sent a message to Beane about Kincaid on draft day. And we all know Dorsey was the frontrunner for the OC job...and he happened to be who Josh wanted. I believe there is a delicate balance of hearing his input and then deciding if what he wants is feasible and makes sense. In other words last year he wanted Cole back. At that point it's on Beane to weigh the options out there. If he felt there were better choices he would go that way. All things even, I think Allen's wants may break a tie.

Here's a way to look at it. Back when I was a bit you ger I played baseball. Was a pretty good hitter. There was this one kid, man we faced him a few times a year and I could NOT even make contact. Nasty curveball. At one point I was something like 0 for 30 against him. I was lucky when I could foul a pitch off against him. My senior year he pitch against us our first game. I had a lucky contact bloop single in my first at bat. Doubled off the wall my second time up. Next time we played him, went yard twice against him and the flood gates were open. Don't think he got me out all season. I do get that it's different sports but the sentiment correlates. Sometimes there's just a block. And once you get over that block it's off to the races. If...and yes it's a big if...Joe Brady can help Allen overcome the way he's played vs the Jets lately it could be a HUGE day for him and lead the offense to have new confidence the rest of the year. Allen has wrecked Saleh's defense in the past. He can do it again.

At least 4. They have a good defense. Their offense is terrible. The way they have been winning is not sustainable and they will not likely keep it up. Think of them as the Giants from last year. Yes, you are what your record says but watching that team they don't have the talent, especially on offense to keep going without a TON of luck.

Not only what you say with running the ball, he also has to learn pass blocking assignments. Everyone wants him rushed to the field...until he gets his assignment mixed up and it results in Josh Allen getting piledriven into the turf by an untouched DT. Then those same people would be "he shouldn't even have been out there" Keeping all that in mind, however...last year the 49ers did trade for CMC and had him up and going with a handful of plays 4 days later. I do think there is/was opportunity to do the same here. He wouldn't have to learn the entire playbook. Set aside a package of plays and work him in if he can contribute.

Rasul Douglas. Garrett Wilson is a threat. He'll be playing a bit slowed potentially by a bum elbow. It's Douglas's chance to lock down the only real receiving threat the Jets have. Make them 1 dimensional and let the run D feast. Bills go up a bit early and now it's Zach Wilson pressed into making plays. This is the way.
