  1. I found it interesting the way he spoke about Leggette. I get the vibe that they really liked him as well. He also mentioned that at 28 there were guys on both offense and defense that were ranked pretty close across the board. The only player drafted between 28 and 33 that was defense was the CB Wiggins. So I believe WR would have still been the pick at 28 because I don't see him going CB there. After the Bills pick, the Chargers took McConkey and then 8 of 9 of the next picks were on defense. DTs Orhorhoro (who was a top 30 visit IIRC), Newton, Sweat and Fiske were in that group as well as DeJean and a few other CBs. So it's possible some of the other players they had in that group were from this list. It's also possible seeing the list of players that were selected around Coleman and hearing that they were all closely graded that when the Bills took Coleman they were out of first round grades players on their board...which makes the 2 trade backs better IMO.
  2. With his contract extension Dawkins is pretty much locked in this year and next. The first potential "out" in the deal would be prior to the 2026 season where he would be 32 and could be let go with around a $9M dead cap hit. So depending on how we sit cap wise then they may make a move with him like they did Morse this year and get younger/cheaper at the position. McGovern will still be 28 in 2026 and if his play stays at the level it is I can see them keeping him with a new deal. So headed into the 2026 season I see: LT: ? LG: McGovern 😄 Van Pran RG: Torrence RT: ? I think who the tackles are depends on a variety of things. Yes, we nabbed a couple OT projects this year and one or both could always pan out. But I actually think Ryan Van Demark has a legitimate chance to be the successor to Dion at LT. The Bills really like what he brings when he's in there. He doesn't fare as well at RT so he'll have to get better there to remain on the roster as a swing tackle until the LT job opens IMO. RT: I have no idea how that pans out. I think they really like Brown, though and would not be shocked if he's signed to a fair deal. Next year we have the ability to sit pretty well cap wise with Groot and Brown being the big names that are due. They'll have money for it. So by 2026 as it sits right nowI see the OL shaping up as: LT: Van Demark LG: McGovern 😄 Van Pran RG: Torrence RT: Brown And if Van Demark continues to show as well as he did in limited snaps last year I like that line a LOT.
  3. This is the sneakiest Tre Edmunds thread I've seen here. Kudos.
  4. No, but wouldn't be opposed to bringing Slye in for a camp leg/kicking competition. He's got a strong leg.
  5. This is just my opinion, but if there was much concern about Milano's recovery I think they may have addressed the position before the 5th round. Waiting until day 3, to me at least, is the first sign that he may be closer than they are letting on. Milano's whole injury and timeline to recovery seems to be one of the best kept secrets/need to know basis injuries I can remember in recent Bills history so I understand why some may question what's going on with his recovery.
  6. Unless I'm mistaken I don't believe any of the 5th year option money hits until next year.
  7. I get what you're saying and agree with a lot of it. I absolutely get the thought process. The main place where I'll zig where your zag is with the bolded. It seems just going off the top of my head I've heard...I'll say 3 out of the last 5 years that the "WR class is special this year. We may not see one like this for a long long time" and then wash/rinse/repeat a year or two later. It really does seem the college game is producing NFL caliber WRs at a pretty good clip. The other thing that at least makes sense in my mind is that while Beane pretty much flat out said there would be no WR trade anytime in the foreseeable future...we have a LOT of draft picks for 2025. It's plausible to me that if the WR room is hampering the offense early this year, he may move that extra second rounder for a proven guy. He has made trade deadline moves the last 2 years.
  8. The name that leaps off the page to pay attention to for me is Emmanuel Ogbah. Not that I'm advocating for him. But 2 years ago Beane made him an offer that he almost took (verified by Ogbah himself). And Beane has a long history of circling back to guys he missed out on previously. Should be able to be had cheap. If not and they feel DE help is still needed Shaq Lawson may likely be back. I'm going to scratch the big names at WR off the list. For me Corey Davis seems like a Beane type gamble as well. Retired last year and looking to get back. He would be my candidate for annual "training camp retiree" we seem to have as well. I'm also wondering if Micah decided to play again if they bring him back on a low deal.
  9. Wow. For sure this means they are the favorites to win the Super Bowl now, right?
  10. The CBS Sunday Pregame's window is closed
  11. No brainier to me. Hopefully we get to see what he can do without foot/ankle problems for an entire season. He seems to start off great year in and year out before some kind of injury hampers him.
  12. Good episode. Glad to see Moulds staying active. Shakir working with him can only pay dividends. He seems like a good kid. Very hard working and likable. Have to lose a tad bit of respect over the way he likes his steak...but he seems to have married well. His wife was the star of the show. Makes dad jokes and isn't afraid to grill? How that translates to year 3 development remains to be seen. Well done, Khalil.
  13. Keyon has to be faster then Keon. Right?
  14. You mean his stats went down later in the season as weather worsened, his #1 receiver disappeared and his #2 WR ended up not playing due to injury? Shocking. His TD passing numbers went down (yet he still ran for a bunch...but we shall discount that because....reasons). Buffalo also faced a Dallas defense that required Josh to basically not have anything as far as stats. But let's discount that as well. Numbers are great but they never tell the whole story. Numbers often scratch the surface of what's happening. It's the "why" the numbers are what they are that add context and meaning. The only number you offer is his "rating" which I find a poor way to evaluate a QB in this era. The top 5 QBs last year in rating were Purdy, Prescott, Tua, Lamar and Stroud. Unless you think those are the best 5 QBs in the NFL...it says something for how the rating system works, doesn't it? Metrics are nice and there is absolutely a place for them when reviewing a player. But it's part of the puzzle.
  15. Bills-Steelers from 2022. The game where Gabe Davis had the 98 yard TD along with the 62 yard TD. His best regular season performance. Josh went over 400 yards passing. We smack the Steelers and their new QB Kenny Pickett 38-3. That whole game was a party in the stands.
  16. Yeah, a lot of people see "arm strength" as being the same as being a deep ball thrower. It's not. I've never seen Josh as being particularly great at throwing deep passes that are on the mark. He'll hit some but many are off target. Josh's arm strength is apparent in the way that he can fit the ball into smaller windows later in the play than others can. It's the pop in the pass that gets the ball to his guy on a 15 yard out way faster than most QBs. After watching Josh it sometimes feel other guys are throwing lobs. Also due to modern defense and the way teams have moved more to the 2 deep shell against QBs that pose the big play threat like Allen and Mahomes...the opportunity for the deep play just aren't available. Trying against that look results in the outcome we saw week 1 against the Jets. Incompletions and "arm punts". So what's our offensive philosophy? It's going to have to be working the short to intermediate. Staying patient. And if an opportunity for a big play presents itself...to identify and take advantage. And Josh played some of the best ball of his career down the stretch last year doing just that.
  17. Yeah, he's got some YAC ability. And he looks to be tough to bring down in the open field. Pretty intense guy that stays on his feet for extra yards...doesn't slide down in front of tacklers. He and Allen are going to feed off each others energy on the field. Looking forward to see what he does
  18. If he's healthy, I see Kincaid. Biggest shocker IMO is going to be that NONE of the Bills pass catchers will go over 1,000. But they end up with 5 guys all over 650yards. This year IMO will be all about spreading the ball and not being predictable. When a big play is needed...look for a mismatch and exploit it
  19. Yeah, that's my thing. I don't believe he's going to be asked to run straight line deep routes very much. So how does Brady use him and what can they do to incorporate what he does do well. Out routes? Hook routes? I think he's going to feast in that 11-20 yard range...and I don't think anyone is going to out hustle or out work him to the ball. That was always a big complaint I had with Gabe Davis. Seemed like far too often when a DB got position on him to make a play on the ball Gabe was a bit passive. Resulted it a fairly high INT% when targeted. I don't see that problem with Coleman.
  20. Man , this debate brings back memories of the whole Stevie Johnson..is he a TRUE #1 receiver or just the guy with the most targets debate from years ago😂
  21. True, but I don't foresee them using Coleman in the return game too often if at all. He'll have a good size role on offense to prepare for every week IMO.
  22. To be fair sometimes it's a double edge sword. Play zone and Josh can find the soft spot....but everyone on defense is facing the QB and can react if Allen runs. Play man and most of your defense turns to run with their guy and no one has eyes on Allen...and he bucks for 20 yards. Pick your poison.
  23. I can say this. I know that's what you were hoping for out of Sherfield and Harty. That's because you're pretty level headed and realistic. I can't say the same for everyone and some of the debates I had here people had them ready to replicate Brown/Beasley numbers or better which was a little over the top on my assessment.
  24. With the new kickoff rules this is a way for him to get a jersey on Sundays.
