  1. Bills will win if: They learn from last year. After keeping the Bills offense contained in both games last year, I would have to think Saleh feels like he found the magic spell to quell Allen and the offense. Ken Dorsey has had the off-season to figure out what they did and what to do to counter it. The schedule has been out a while and knowing the Jets defense is up first it's given him ample time to prepare a gameplan to counter what the defense did to the Bills last year. This is a very telling game for what we have in Dorsey IMO. Start Fast. With all the extra meaning for the Jets and the way their players have been on social media all week BEGGING their fanbase to get there early and be loud (kind of pathetic they even need to ask, IMO) the game will likely kick off in a frenzied environment. The Jets are also a team that played much of last year with raw emotion and fed off that. IF YOU LET THEM THINK THEY CAN WIN...THEY WILL. Buffalo needs to come out and withstand the initial wave of emotion. A quick score or two to take the crowd out and cast doubt in the Jets mind would be HUGE. Limit presnap penalties. This game should end up close. The Bills CANNOT give in to mental mistakes that end up putting them behind the sticks. And you can't extend drives for the Jets with stupid penalties. The Jets will win if: Buffalo makes mental mistakes. Presnap penalties. Turnovers. Not executing. This is the best path to a Jet victory IMO. Fast Start. They need to keep the building loud. They players need to believe they can win. They need to jump out early to show the world (and maybe even themselves) they aren't the "Same Old Jets". If they can do that the pressure to prove they belong lessens. Contain Josh Allen. They did well in 2 games last year. Can they do it again? Physical, fast defense has been a thorn in Buffalo's side for a while now. Will the additions of rookies O'Cyrus Torrence and Dalton Kincaid help slow that down? The Jets need to get at Allen rushing 4. This allows them to deal with Buffalo's weapons in the pass and contain Allen in the pocket.
  2. I assume you are talking about Chigoziem Okonkwo from the Titans here. A few things to consider. - His QBs were Tannehill, Dobbs and Willis. They combined for 456 pass attempts last season. - Allen attempted 567. Over 100 more targets for pass catchers here than on the run oriented Titans offense. - Allen had, by my count 181 of his attempts aimed at either the TE or slot receiver last year. If roughly the same amount come this year those targets I would expect to be split between DK, Sherfield, Harty and Shakir (to a lesser extent). And just my hunch, but I suspect DK will out snap or draw even with Sherfield and Harty in the slot. - While Okonkwo did occasionally line up all over for the Titans he spent the majority of his time lined up as an inline TE on a run first offense. I expect Kincaid to have far more opportunities in the slot. With the difference between the Bills and Titans offensive philosophy I fully expect Kincaid to see more routes than Okonkwo did last year. More routes=more opportunity. I see absolutely no reason why Kincaid can't have a 50 catch (average just under 3 receptions a game of plays all 17) season. With Allen averaging almost 11 targets a game last year to slot and TE positions, I think Kincaid seeing 4-5 targets a game isn't out of pocket.
  3. I've thought about this a lot this week. And frankly, I've been leaning Jets. The reasons that some have stated above. 9/11 in Jersey. Aaron's debut. This being the culmination of the huge off-season for the Jets. This is the Jet Super Bowl. That's a ton to overcome. Then it hit me this morning. This franchise has overcome MUCH more and MUCH harder in the last calendar year. I'm not going to list it because we all know what these Bills have handled and STILL won 14 games last year. Someone above also mentioned for the Jets this is a "statement game". That's very true. However, these Bills have a statement to make as well. The last time they stepped foot on the field in a came that counted they looked like complete amateurs. Think they aren't ready to send out the statement of: "We aren't done yet". Low scoring. Hard hitting. Chippy. That's what I see for this game. Monday McDermott will bring a new attitude to this defense and that will resonate throughout the whole team. Bills win this one 20-16.
  4. It'll be fine. Tua learned how to fall.
  5. It's just week 1. Traditionally, it can be a wacky week with weird outcomes. I don't read too much into a week 1 game. For the Jets and their fans, this is their Super Bowl.
  6. Without Armstead one of the guys that worked on the LT spot was our very own recent retiree Shell. Perhaps him hanging it up wasn't a bad thing for us after all.
  7. I can see the thread already:"Does McDermott lean on rookies way too much?"
  8. No thank you. Brandt is a poser. Being hyped over the Bills is his gimmick. It's an act. He's a Bears fan. Berman legitimately admired the Bills.
  9. The best part of it all....when the refs FINALLY called him for it on 4th and 20 to make it 4th and 25. I was cackle laughing.
  10. Chiefs need to fix it. Here's why. If you paid attention to Taylor on almost every play, he way tipping run/pass. When he would line up further back and rock before the snap- pass. Almost every time. However on run plays he was up more in line with the OG and didn't flinch. Hutch is a really good player, but this was one reason why on pass plays he came like he was shot out of a cannon.
  11. I can't say I blame him one bit. We don't know what Beane came in with, but I would imagine it was a lowball offer with the allure of "being the best version nof yourself" and chasing a ring while playing with a QB Hopkins named. With what these guys go through physically over the course of a season and the long lasting issues they can face after their playing career I would never hold it against a guy to get every dollar he can.
  12. Yea, it's amazing. Without good protection at the RT spot and not having Kelce to just heave it to Mahomes is actually mortal. Who would have think it?
  13. Woooow! Detroit catching a good bounce there. And Collinsworthless makes sure everyone knows that wasn't on Mahomes.
  14. He did, then cast him and 2 1sts aside for a guy who at this stage isn't better. And frankly with Von and Donald they quite possibly win that Super Bowl with Goff, anyway.
  15. He really came on strong last year. Somehow the Lowly Lions figured unlocked the potential in Goff that the Genius McVay couldn't.
  16. Not sure about all that...but I'm really curious what she knows that they are nervous about getting out...
  17. Nope. Hype them up MORE. Love it. Twice the pride double the fall The Jets have done what they always do. Make a bunch of headline grabbing off season moves. Remember all the hype when they signed Lev Bell and hired Adam Gase? Their offense has holes at OL. Two talented RBs coming off major surgery. Wilson is excellent. Then they have Aaron with his head in the clouds saying how "much this is like a dream" and Saleh trying his hardest to be hard arsed. Their defense is good. I'll give them that. Matches up against Buffalo well. And, though they are GOOD it's not as great of a defense as they want to think. They aren't the '85 Bears. The tumble in "JetLife Stadium" will be swift and unforgiving this year IMO.
  18. They're a very fair weather fan base. I think with them making the playoffs last year, being likely favorites to win the division this year and the easy schedule.... they will have people in the stands (and pool) this year. Throw in that they now have a team that looks like it may actually be fun to watch and Jacksonville may do pretty well over the next 4-5 years for themselves.
  19. I like it. What that says to me is the knee itself is ready and he just needed time to get comfortable cutting on it and get into gameday shape. Gives him a bit extra to be ready. I have a feeling his first game back he's going to play like he was shot out of a cannon.
