  1. It always seems like the Jets have about 16 guys on defense.White jerseys all over on every level.
  2. Smart play by Allen. Take the underneath. Shorten the FG attempt. Hate that the drive stalled, but love the patience Josh is showing this far. EXACTLY what the Bills need to do against this pass rush.
  3. At least Josh is taking the underneath. He keeps that up things will open deeper later on
  4. Rodgers will come back. I hope. Don't want to hear ANY excuses if we win and he's out
  5. Let me preface this by saying I do not endorse trading Elam. Just speaking on the question here. He most certainly would have trade value. GMs pay close attention to everything. There are GMs that I'm sure had him highly rated and are a scheme fit that see a first rounder from last year a healthy scratch and rub their hands together. They may view it as getting a guy they liked in the late first/early second a year ago at a reduced rate. Putting Elam as a healthy scratch week 1 sends a strong message IMO. There's a good chance that some GM is planning on giving Beane a call first thing in the morning to gauge if Elam can be had and for what cost. What Beane does from there would depend IMO on if a team offers something that he views as better value than Elam would provide and inactive depth.
  6. Couldn't disagree more on both. Kirk and Rivers are both very verbal...emotional leaders/players. As much as I dislike Kirk and was neutral on Rivers they both have that fire inside. Herbert is very...beige as far as his play. Like I said, elite physical gifts but doesn't not seem to have that elite drive inside him. He's Buffalo Bills era Kyle Orton if Orton had arm talent.
  7. Giant fans are realizing why we were so happy to see Daboll poach Bobby Johnson. Soooo much Bobby Johnson hate. For all the griping about Kromer and Spencer Brown's play... remember it was much worse once upon a time.
  8. Buy: Trent Sherfield. I like what I have seen of him so far. Josh Allen has raved about him MANY times. He's a player that can bring a lot of things to the game. Won't wow on the stat sheet but seems to do all the little things right. I'm seeing him as a guy this front office will prioritize getting a deal done with before the start of next season. Some tough ess over the middle, a good blocker and good route running. Sell: Jordan Poyer. I fully understand how much he has done for this team and this defense over the years. However, there is a reason he didn't garner the offers he thought he may in FA and came back here for a reduced rate. Still smart and physical, I question if Father Time is catching up. Hold: This goes along with my "sell". Taylor Rapp. I think he can bring a TON to this defense. I think he eventually becomes a key player be it through scheme or eventually starting games at S due to injury. He may bring what we didn't have last year... experience in a depth roll.
  9. Here's your Tuesday morning spoiler alert on the narrative in either event. Bills lose: "We told you, Jets are for real. Dolphins are for real and the Bills window is slammed shut. It's all over." Bills win: "Nice win, but you can't read too much into it. It's week one and a long season. Look, the Chiefs and Bengals both lost week 1 just like the Jets and we know Aaron Rodgers will get it figured out just like Mahomes and Burrow."
  10. Rapp was playing either way. I believe it comes down to Hamlin/Neal/Lewis for active 4th S and 5th CB roles. Lewis and Neal both have CB flexibility as well as are superior on STs.
  11. Makes sense. Cam Lewis has a lot more flexibility.
  12. In fairness, a lot of people have been calling for Staley to get the boot for 2 years. And yesterday showed a bulk of the reasons why. He's terrible.
  13. Parsons is going to have a MONSTER year if he stays healthy. Danil Jones is going to kill Daboll's first HC opportunity.
  14. Sounds like more Dallas fans in Jersey than Giant fans. Dallas does trave well but surprising for a Giants team coming off a playoff run.
  15. Both are true. Here's my thing with both of them. Herbert has all the tools. Has the arm. Can make any throw. Tua has none of that. But what Tua has is good football IQ, better coaching and a fire inside to win and get better. I question if Herbert has that. Herbert shows time and again his pocket awareness is not great. He freezes under pressure. And in my opinion, jes regressed since draft day. Tua has his limitations. He's definitely a product of the system. But while he's in the system his short to intermediate accuracy is deadly and he knows how to win. Combine Tua's game IQ, desire to win and get better, accurate and poised play with Herbert's physical tools and you get a Mahomes or Allen level talent.
  16. Part of it I do put on his coaching. It doesn't seem he's been taught very much since being drafted. The other part....now understand this comparison I make is NOT talent wise....but he seems to almost have a JP Losman vibe about him.
  17. I don't want to hear Herbert in the top 5 QB discussion again. Dude showed time and again he has no pocket awareness. Yea, he can make throws but he's a deer in the headlights.
