  1. Funny, I just mentioned Duggar in another post. He is EXACTLY who I see Beane targeting if he hits FA. He would be an excellent fit on this defense. The other Safety I would like if he's there would be Winfield, but I think he'll be too expensive.
  2. I'm going to make a very bold prediction. If (and it is a big if) he hits FA, one of those safety spots next season will be filled by Kyle Duggar. I almost am positive if he's not re-signed by NE he would be a priority FA for Beane, who it's reported really liked him coming out of the draft.
  3. Weird. Up until very late in camp Elam was running with the 1s quite frequently until Benford suddenly passed him on the depth chart. Many here were curious as to why and if Elam was slowed by a torn ankle ligament (not the same as a "sprain") that would explain what happened there. Not a trust issue. The Douglas trade has no bearing on Elam's future. It may have more to do with Tre White's. Benford may or may not be a CB next year. Then there's the whole issue of injury. Having too many CBs is a good problem to have. As far as beating Douglas or Benford next year...never say never. I seem to remember a LOT of people laughing at the notion that Bernard could even compete for the MLB job.
  4. He doesn't mention the Bills. You're reading into it. What he is on record about when it comes to the Bills can be found in this article with attached interview. https://fox5sandiego.com/sports/former-sdsu-punter-matt-araiza-speaks-out-after-rape-claims-dismissed/ “I hold nothing against the Buffalo Bills, I wish things were handled differently,” Araiza continued. “But they did treat me with respect, which I appreciate. It’s just the climate of how things are now. Accusations bring so much hate to anyone who stands by the accuser that they were kind of forced to cut me from the team.”
  5. I did. And I watched the presser. He's speaking here in general terms. More the quick to judge society over the specific nature bof what happened to him and the Bills. He's actually been on record in the past saying he holds no I'll will against Buffalo. If I can find those quotes I'll gladly post them, but they were from another article.
  6. That's almost verbatim what he actually said though. "This idea that society has that the second someone files a lawsuit it’s completely true and we must take action based on what’s alleged — I disagree with it" Take action based on what's alleged = forced the team to cut me. I'd also argue the point that checking in with him over the last, what 18 19 months is directly showing they are sticking by him.
  7. Yes. Your dirty ass house is a direct comparison for speaking on matters of societal influence. How stupid of me. Clearly apples to apples.
  8. Would also explain the mystery of why and how Benford seemed to leapfrog him right at the very end of TC as well. As well as maybe why he was inactive so much so early. Maybe it's time us fans admit we only have a small fraction of knowledge as to why certain decisions are made🤷🏼‍♂️
  9. Wish we would have gone all whites and force the Cowboys to break out those pathetic blue jerseys.
  10. This may also explain why Beane didn't end up trading him at the deadline. No way he passes a physical for his new team with that. Trade would be cancelled and we would have a young CB that knows the Bills gave up on him. Lose/lose situation.
  11. He didn't. He's clearly generalizing. "“This idea that society has that the second someone files a lawsuit it’s completely true and we must take action based on what’s alleged — I disagree with it,” Araiza said. “Professional sports teams, as well as college teams, should have the backbone to say, ‘Look we take these allegations seriously, but until allegations are proven, we can’t cut our guy. We can’t push somebody out who’s worked their whole life to be here.'”
  12. I think (and just the way I took the quotes from the article) he's more upset with the circumstances and the way society pressures move like this. He can't be too upset as it appears he still picks up the phone when they call
  13. Interesting story here. Very interesting the Bills have kept close contact. Leads me to believe those that say he would hold a grudge and not come back if offered are off base.
  14. I picked the 3rd option for the contract value. A middle to low end WR2/3 type guy is starting to see in the 11M/yr range (see Lazard). That's where I see Gabe ultimately landing. I would take him back at a slightly lower value. The $8-9M range and I would be ok with that for all the different roles he can play on offense. However, I do think if he hits open market his rate will sky rocket and someone will make the mistake of overpaying in the $12-$15M range. That's too much for me.
  15. I, too will stand by my overall comments from previous. I believe Poyer played through way too many injuries last year and that took a perm toll on the body. He's still been for the most part, decent. But a far fall from where he was 2-3 years ago. Guy has been a warrior, though.
  16. I think they get to wear Healies. More of a "roll through " for them.
  17. I agree and don't like those WR screens. However, I am curious to see if Brady is getting that established on film to work something off of it. Maybe something where they set up the WR screen and when the defense commits to crash it...one of the blockers leaks out upfield. Lots of variables can come off that if they get a defense to commit.
  18. Josh Allen will be fined $32,689 and suspended 2 games for striking Patrick Mahomes in the chest after the game. Buffalo will be assessed a personal foul against the Cowboys at the beginning of every 1st half possession.
  19. Some have been eager to see what he can do. You may get your wish.
  20. I don't know. I didn't ask him. Sometimes guys will wait until late to join a contender. He had opportunity in the off-season. But why he didn't sign...shoot send him a text I can't answer for him. Agree. Didn't mean to infer he would be a direct 1:1 replacement. But he will definitely help in likely 12-15 situational snaps a game.
  21. And they add one more to the D. Ingram always plays well against us, too. Softens the blow from losing Phillips. However, still does nothing to help their OL.
  22. Media has really been blowing up the Cowboys for this amazing 5 week run they've been on. And what happens more times then not when a team gets that media love? A huge letdown. This 5 game stretch the Cowboys have been on has featured 4 home games and a road game against Carolina. And their perfect kicker is about to meet the winds off the lake. Good luck, bruh. Buffalo is playing their best football right now, is at home and can see the division crown on the horizon if the keep winning. This one isn't going to be close. Buffalo 30 Dall-ass 16
  23. You need multiple corners. And you need guys that fit/know the system and communications. In a perfect scenario my depth chart would look something like this: CB1: Douglas CB2: White (on a pay cut with Jackson stepping in if not ready) CB3: Jackson/Elam CB4: Rookie CB5: FA (lower level not major signing) Safety - Benford Safety - FA Safety - Rookie Give a nice mix of youth and experience at all levels with enough youth to be the long term answer moving forward. There are many ways to go about it and truthfully I don't see any opinions as wrong at this point because there is a LOT that we just don't know. Will Tre heal? Would he take a pay cut to stay? Who will be available in FA? Who is sitting there when we pick? Will Elam suddenly figure things out? The answers to those questions will dictate what needs to be done in the long run IMO.
