  1. True. But then he gets all melancholy when reporters start to question it. He says he's tired of answering the same questions...then sets them up to be asked over and over year after year. He trolls himself just as much as he trolls others.
  2. I think this sums up what I feel about the Bears build this off season. Same with other teams we see try this approach over and over (Dolphins for instance).
  3. I've kind of been liking Isaac Guarando from Louisville. Size (6' 221lbs), speed (4.33 40) and some athletic prowess (9.98 RAS). Unfortunately, he destroyed it at the Combine and I'm seeing him some places projected in round 4, which is a bit higher than I'd want to take a RB this year
  4. With Beane expecting a 3rd round comp pick and ending up with a 4 after moving their original 3rd rounder in the Rasul trade...this may very well be a year that we see Beane trade down and out of round 1 IMO. Recoup that 3rd to move back to the mid 30s to mid 40s. If a WR isn't there they absolutely love, this is what I'm seeing happening (as long as a trade partner is there. Move back a bit and grab one of the WRs that slip out of round 1 and a DT like Sweat if he's there in round 2...then find talent the rest of the draft.
  5. Dillion re-signed with the Packers yesterday, I believe. Right now we have 3 RBs rostered. Cook, Johnson and Evans. I would add 2 more. One, a vet that can do the things Cook struggles with (pass blocking, ball security and sure hands out of the backfield with some short yardage push) and one in the late rounds of the draft. As good as Cook was last year, the fumbles and lack of pass blocking will have him off the field a bit if he doesn't improve. Plus, Id like to limit his touches a tad so he's not approaching 275-300 touches as the playoffs roll around. Wait a bit and see how the FA RB market pans out. See what's left and sign the best one remaining to a minimum deal.
  6. Absolutely. Samuel is an ideal "screen guy". With Brady liking to throw those Im glad they identified that they needed someone with his skillset to run those rather than force it to Diggs. I anticipate those screens being more successful this season with Samuel.
  7. They don't. But, supposedly he's really good in the QB room helping break down film and helping get a QB1 ready for the game. Wouldn't shock me to see him join the coaching ranks within a couple years.
  8. Seemed like a good dude. Not the worst backup DT we've had here...but definitely never lived up to the hope many had for him to progress after getting out from a loaded Washington DL.
  9. Good for him. Should get a chance at a starting job. Hope he does well.
  10. Agree on Murray. He got worn out quickly. I'd like to see one late round RB taken, along with a value vet FA (talking a vet min guy) that can take the pressure off Cook a bit with some experience and short yardage chops.
  11. Excellent signing. Good RAC guy. Good hands as well. Upgraded.
  12. There is, IMO, a better chance of Beane trading back and out of the first round completely than a move like this. If we move up ( and without a 3rd this year now, doubting we do) it would likely be no higher than 25 if Beane feels jittery that his "last remaining 1st round grades guy" is gonna get taken.
  13. I mean, I like Johnson enough as a RB3/ST type. He's shown ability to handle that role. I have zero problem with him in that role again this year. But a RB2? Sorry, just don't see it. Yup, he runs hard. Yup he has some burst. But he had a whopping 30 carries last year. He is the definition of a JAG. Let me present this a different way. Say, we didn't re-sign him and he went to another team. Their lead back is down the week we play them and we are up against Johnson. You scared? Like at all? Of course not. He's really a non factor. Cook really played well last year. Showed a lot of talent. That will keep getting him opportunity. However, what if his fumbles and drops continue? Sorry, but we need a RB2 that can step in there if Cook falters or gets hurt. But like I said, Johnson is an almost ideal RB3 guy. Has some pop. Can play ST. Perfect for that role.
  14. Cool. We still need a RB2. I like Johnson and like the versatility he brings on ST. That said there is nothing remotely about him that is a RB2 in this league IMO. And 54 of those yards alone came from the Dallas game, where the Cowboys absolutely REFUSED to tackle any RBs. Good depth player. Wouldn't want him as "next man up" if Cook misses time.
  15. Guy was so good the Giants spent a pick to select his replacement in the draft and he could barely get on the field for a team with nothing in the WR room. He would likely be competing with Hollins and Shorter for a roster spot, and they each add more value as a ST in addition would that WR 4/5 role.
  16. With the WRs in this draft coming out, paying that much for a guy like Ridley in FA is just a horrible idea IMO. This is how bad teams stay bad.
  17. Dang. I'm a Dane fan, but that looks to be a HUGE overpay.
  18. I hear they are open to him joining the management program, as well.
  19. Someone will vastly overpay. And I'm betting it's the Jets.
  20. Brandon Beane has about a third of his tuna club left over from lunch. Rumor is Chris Grier is eyeing that as well.
  21. Well, got a depth WR so far. I think the Bills have several close to or at vet minimum deals sent out. Players/agents will wait to see if anything else comes up before 4. Later today I see a few value signings. Maybe Jordan Whitehead at Safety. CEH for a RB. Perhaps even a cheap EDGE guy. Nothing big or splashy.
  22. Not the "Mack" most Bills fans hoped to aquire today. But not a bad signing. Vet that wouldn't likely cut into a rookie WRs snap count. Can do the dirty work (a Sherfield/Kumrow hybrid). I am ok with this. Shouldn't cost much.
