The original question that was asked was "Why doesn't Orton get more ex Bills love".
When talking about Orton that slide always comes up. I can't speak for all, but speaking for myself it's not so much that he slid and didn't take an unnecessary shot. However that play is more symbolic of his efforts in a Bills uniform. I'm reminded of an old quote I hear years ago.
"There may be people that have more talent than you, but there is no excuse for anyone to work harder than you do."
It's been said over and over her that he was basically retired and painted like we had to drag him kicking and screaming onto the field to play. He was offered a job which he chose to take.
Bills fans choosing toughness over talent isn't an Buffalo exclusive thing. It's a pretty common factor in football fans (and in life in general) that people that put in the effort are usually respected and remembered more fondly then those that just do the bare minimum. That was Kyle Orton. The bare minimum. And THAT'S why Kyle Orton doesn't get more love as an ex-Bill.
