I like that in the next 2 weeks we play the Giants and Patriots. It's an outstanding chance for guys like Williams and Elam to build some confidence. It will give McDermott an opportunity to tweak the defense to the new players in the lineup. Gives Von and Poona a chance to get back in the flow of the game. Elam against Kirk/Ridley and Williams missing tackles on ETN in their first extended action of the season was a tough task.

He does, but it's fair to wonder if it's him not being open or Dallas spreading the ball that's the cause. I don't watch Cowboys All 22 so I can't answer.

Not always, but typically teams that have to rely on trickery have to do so because of severe talent difference between them and an opponent. Catch a team off guard and get a cheap score here and there. Honestly with all the new moving parts on the defense it would be a really good idea. Banking that one of our 2 young LBers over pursue a play or if they can get an extra step or 2 on our Safeties with their lack of make up speed....it could make a difference. Not enough to win....but at least it will be fun.

This weekend the Giants team features several former Buffalo Bills. I believe there's a good chance it will feature a future Buffalo Bill or two. We all know the relationship that exists between Beane and Schoen. I have no doubt that the two will be having a lot of discussion this week. With the way the Giants season is going they could be sellers real real soon. I'll be watching the Giants to see who flashes and may catch Beane's eye.

And we play the Giants this week. Now anything can happen but their line has been historically bad this year.

This may be a fun one to watch. Lamb is due a contract and Jones is saying he shouldn't see four targets a game. Interesting. Maybe they move him?

I have to admit, I like watching the kid. Hope he heals and continues making big plays. However, I really can't feel bad for the Dolphins. At least he is scheduled to come back.

Well, a few that are from the early McD days carved out long NFL careers to differing success. Bobby Trees Ronald Darby Sammy Watkins Feliciano started last year for the Giants and has seen action for SF this year. Heck you could throw a lot of guys on the Giants Daboll brought with him if "still in the league" is a qualifier. Matt Breida. Hodgins ect.

I don't think we are going to see any coaches fired anytime soon. The 2 that I would say are most likely are Rivera and Eberflus. Chicago has never fired a HC in season. And if he goes they are already down their DC and have literally no one to take over. The Commanders new owner has already put out he wants to see how the season plays out before evaluation. He's not new to owning sports teams and is noted for being patient. Even in Vegas, Mark Davis was seen on video at a game ridiculing fans that were yelling at him to fire McDaniels. And I don't see any way Belichick gets fired in season. Or at all, really. He'll likely "resign" at some point this or next off season. Maybe week 16 or 17 we see a change. But there doesn't seem to be much smoke this season to me.

This may be the biggest oddity to me in the whole season. The rate of season ending injury around the league seems to be skyrocketing. The amount of top level injuries seems really high as well. And yet somehow all the sudden CMC seems to be made of iron and impervious to even a bruise. Make it make sense.🤷🏼‍♂️

Oh I'm familiar with it. He does an excellent job, however he's not 100% accurate...and he acknowledges that himself. As any doctor will tell you (and he says as well) it's impossible to properly diagnose through the TV. I would say he's likely correct...but with all the unknowns there is a chance he could be off as well.

Has Milano had surgery? If not and the knee is intact there may be an opportunity for him to be back late in the playoffs... depending on which bone/bones were broken. And of course if we make it there.

I mean, obviously if someone throws stupid ludicrous type cash at him that changes the equation. And if he keeps making splash plays someone will get hooked in, possibly. There's a limit with a guy like him, much like there was a limit with Edmunds that you don't pay over. As much as I like how well he's come on the last year and a half or so, he's still an incomplete player when it comes to the run game. His pay has to reflect that.

At this point you're lucky they didn't throw you on the plane back to the states and coach you up to start at CB. Couldn't be worse than Elam was Sunday. With no TEs and the signing of Josh Norman, I'm expecting Kelvin Benjamin signed any time now. Just have to make a quick stop at Popeyes for some biscuits.

I do agree that Dorsey doesn't always play to putting guys into places to succeed. One problem I do have with his offense is the way he structured it. There are (or were and I believe still are) a lot of instances where routes are based off what a WR sees. They have options to run different routes based on what defense presents. I think guys read things differently and end up in the same spot because of that at times. Another issue could be that when Allen moves out of the pocket it turns into a bit of backyard ball and guys move to him rather than being aware of what everyone else is doing. All that said they do run a few plays where guys are running the same basi route, just at different depths. If a guy gets jammed or rounds his rout off it can result in receivers ending up near each other as well.

Amazing how a narrative switches. For YEARS I have seen right here on this board that "defense doesn't matter" and it's all about offense these days anyway. We still have an ELITE defensive line. Floyd and Groot are legit. Add in AJE who is coming along. And anything we get from Von is a plus as well. Ed Oliver is having a career year as well. We have Bernard making plays every week. Benford hopefully back soon and Dane Jackson is adequate. Will we be as good as before? No of course not. But there is no reason to believe this defense can't make some stops. Truthfully, maybe a little new blood and young legs is needed in some spots. I think McDermott scheming the defense will be a plus as well. He'll figure out ways to cover some weak spots. Fortunately, this is all happening early in the year. Gets players like Benford, Williams, Poona or whoever comes in time to get reps and build knowledge in the system. Season is far from over IMO

Agree with that 99.9% of the time. But we do live in a world with Watson and Hill and I'm sorry, I am a flawed human that would love to see the "uppence" come for guys like that. As far as Achane, he's a real good player. Not sure if he's big enough to last long, though.

Saw a ton of Dolphin fans making fun of and celebrating the Milano injury yesterday. Could be nothing...could be Karma. Either way, I'll take the high road here, but this could be a big loss for them. Either way, hope the kid is ok. Yes, he's on a rival team, but man is he fun to watch.
