  1. Yea, experience is not why he's being interviewed by multiple teams this off season. But he does "check a few boxes". It's a good chance for him to get his name out there for the future, but most people I think would agree he's not very qualified.
  2. With the Bills already starting the OC search it tells me they have already likely conducted their review on the coaching staff. This would signal to me that Smiley is probably not being let go. Hoping I'm reading that wrong...just a gut feeling especially after McDermott's words about him at the Locker Clean out day presser. Though if they were to make a move (Panthers jokes aside) Tabor has been a pretty well thought of ST coach for a bit now.
  3. No one wants Belichick anymore. I have Ben Johnson getting the Washington job. Then there's Seattle...and Quinn is possible there. POSSIBLY Vrabel. But I'm thinking Vrabel and Belichick are jobless. Hope Belichick goes on one of the Sunday AM pre shows. Would be hysterical.
  4. He was coming off a 9 sack season and still available pretty late into FA. I don't expect that to change being a year older now. I'd say there is a chance we see him back on a one or two year deal a bit later in the FA cycle. A 2 year deal with a small pay bump makes sense.
  5. I think he's got the Washington job waiting for him.
  6. I really hope not. ST was atrocious at times this year.
  7. I think anyone that legitimately thinks the job isn't Brady's is fooling themselves. We will see a couple more candidates brought in to fill the Rooney Rule. Maybe one or two others to say "see it was a legit search" and the job will go to Brady.
  8. Yeah. Atlanta, Seattle and Washington left. People are going to be kinda shocked when the hiring is done, spots are filled and Belichick and Vrabel are still on the market.
  9. Votes are already in. They vote before the post season starts IIRC.
  10. No Tua?!?!? But I was told....
  11. Interesting hire. Wonder who Tepper will hire next year.😂. (This has more to do with Tepper and less to do with Canales.)
  12. "Cheery picking"😂 Yes, our top 2 picks being heavily played this year is "cheery picked" Last year's class had Cook, Benford, Bernard and Shakir, all played heavy roles. Elam was at this point an exception to playing rookies. The year before both Groot and Brown ended their rookie years as starters. It's almost like some guys need time to develop. Case in point Bernard year 1...just wasn't ready. Looked lost. Year 2....played amazing. The narrative is about as dead as the idea that Tyler Dunne is impartial when it comes to writing articles on McDermott. But go ahead and dazzle me with some facts that aren't "cheery picked". I'll spot ya Elam. And go...
  13. Chance to reunite with Edmunds....how can you say no. This plus Babich's interest from the Giants... McDermott better decide what he's doing and quickly.
  14. That 673 yards was the 10th most from a rookie TE in NFL history. His 73 catches were the 4th most by a rookie TE in NFL history. O'Cyrus Torrence played ever snap as a rookie. I cannot believe this is still a narrative.
  15. But can she read what alignment a defense is in, check to the proper play, shift protections and hit the open receiver?
  16. This! Every year teams make move and everyone starts freaking out. This is just another hire that the media will over hype all off season. This will be last year's Rodgers to the Jets. "Chargers are instantly a Super Bowl contender" They really have a lot of work to do on the roster. The have a QB that has talent but looks about as interested in playing football as your basic 80 year old woman in a bingo hall. In life the 3 guarantees are death, taxes and the Chargers Chargering. I expect nothing different.
  17. From what it sounds like he really didn't want to be there that much going to last year. Wanted Philly but they went with Desai. And judging from several player reactions he wasn't really liked by the players there either.
  18. Maybe they can bring that Brian Flores fella in from the Vikings.
  19. I don't know why but looking over that list I can't help but feeling that Devin Duvernay is someone Beane will target.
  20. For me and what my plan would be, I would start at the CB spot and that revolves around Tre White at the moment. If White is healthy enough to return, I offer him a pay cut to stay on. At his age, coming off 2 serious injuries he just likely won't be the same. However, we now have Rasul to take over at CB1 and Tre can stick at CB2. If Tre is open to the pay cut due to reduced role (and yes, there would be incentives in the contract to allow him to recover some of the loss) that's a slam dunk. I would also bring Dane Jackson back as he likely won't break the bank and knows the system. CB1: Douglas CB2: White CB3: Benford/Jackson/Elam The reason I have those 3 named at CB3 is if White is healthy and back it would allow the Bills to finally consider moving Benford to Safety to cover a spot. And I think as good as he's been at corner he translates even better to safety. JMO. From there I let Rapp walk. Day 2 pick spent on a safety with a young vet in as well. I love Damar Hamlin as a person, but if we fail to upgrade on him as a backup it's a failure My target would be Kyle Dugger or Kamren Curl. Poyer can stay, however I'd like to see him in the role that Rapp had this year. Less snaps but still a part of the game plan. I believe they need to draft a DT by the end of day 2. Even then, help will be needed. We will also need guys at EDGE. Von...not expecting much from him. Would love Floyd back. Would take AJE back at the right price. At LBer, I go into the season with Bernard, Milano, Dodson, Williams and Spector and feel pretty good about that unit. Offense: David Edwards is a guy I bring back. At WR I look day 1 to draft one, but also bring in a mid level vet. I'm ok double dipping here with a late rounder with SPEED. I look to the late rounds to add a RB that fills the Latavius Murray power role. I would also bring in a punter with a big,big leg. Give him time to practice holding for the kicker if need be. You know the one. And a kicker to not only compete with Bass, but also let him not have to take every training camp and preseason kick.
  21. Oh, I'm not trying to say there are ANY expectations about Hamler. Just that he's a body currently in the room. As far as double dipping, I'm fine if they do. It also wouldn't shock me too much if they take a WR in the 1st or 2nd and stand pat thinking that they get Shorter back and view that as a second young WR they didn't have in the mix this year. NOT saying that's my preferred route or something I agree with...just that kind of thought out of the Bills wouldn't shock me. Especially with other needs that we will have.
  22. For me it depends on how the WR room shakes out. Do they keep Harty? Is Sherfield back? How much can we realistically expect out of Shorter. Or Isabella. Or KJ Hamler. We know Gabe is all but gone. So barring any change our only known assets there are Diggs and Shakir. Even adding a rookie to that, that's not enough IMO. Ideally, I'd like to see us draft one oland sign one. The FA being experienced, but not high priced star. DJ Chark comes to mind.
