  1. Fair point to make, however this time last year there were other guys taking snaps in the slot than McKenzie as well. Crowder was in the mix as well. Kumerow had taken snaps there. So I think it sort of evens out, myself.
  2. Collinsworthless made a point to say the Giants were picking on him as the weak link so I'm sure you'll see that repeated here today some. In reality he gave up a couple plays and he made a couple plays. He looked very much like a CB that is young and hasn't seen much playtime. The coverage on the deep ball was very good...but the play he made that stuck out to me was very late in the game. On the last drive Taylor completed a pass to the right side. He made an excellent tackle that prevented the WR from getting out of bounds and stopping the clock. Thought that showed some real good awareness.
  3. Came across the following tweet. Pulled the numbers out so they are front and center. Credit to "Rico" for doing the leg work. But I have seen a LOT of common themes parroted today and the numbers show that for the most part the opinions of some (including some opinions I've had) may not be fully true. First off...the new narrative that Josh is suddenly force feeding Diggs and only Diggs the ball to keep him happy. Through 6 games Diggs has only 1 more target than last year. My theory is that the perception that Allen is forcing Diggs the ball more has to do with the lack of targets for Stef at the end of the year. After 6 weeks 5-1 record. 4-2 Record #Diggs 22' Diggs 23' 65 targets 66 targets 49 recs 49 Rec 6tds 5tds Second...Gabe Davis hasn't improved. That's another false narrative IMO that the numbers seemingly back up. This time last year Dais had a 53% catch rate. Through the same amount of games his rate has jumped to 70%. Most of his catches have gone for 1st downs or TDs. He has been a HIGHLY efficient player so far this year. I have checked 3 sources this morning and have seen him "credited" with TWO official drops this year on one of them and ONE in the other two. If someone can provide another official source that is higher, please do. His fumble last night was just the third time in his career he's fumbled and it was an excellent play by the defense. Gabe Davis is NOT the problem. #Davis 22'. Davis 23' 26 targets 30 Targets 14 Rec 21 rec 4tds 4tds Third...Knox has to be a blocker all the time now. And while it's true he is asked to chip a fair amount...he still runs a pass pattern after most times. He's actually had 5 more targets this year. His problem has been he's not making the tough catches we are used to seeing him make. #Knox 22' Knox 23' 20 Targets 25 Targets 15 rec 14 Rec 1TD 1TD Fourth...slot receiver has been a bust. True, yet maybe a bit too early to lose hope. Notable with Kincaid missing last night he's only got 5 games in. I would have expected a few balls his way to raise these numbers, but the fact of the matter is while the TDa haven't been there (yet) and his opportunity hasn't been as high, he's actually been much more efficient than what we had in the slot last year. He's a rookie still figuring things out. I think the best is yet to come here. #Mckenzie 22' #Kincaid 23' 26 targets 19 Targets 17 Rec 17 Rec 3tds 0 TDs
  4. Ahhh, so you see that it can be done. I'm sick of stacking huge impressive wins early in the season only to come up short in the end, aren't you? It's almost refreshing to struggle offensively this early (you know, like the teams that HAVE MADE CHAMPIONSHIP GAMES) have done...almost like it gives teams to recalibrate and make changes to find what works and gives other teams less of a blue print on how to stop you once fixed.
  5. And I agree. I think the thing most people here fail to see is that this is how the offense is structured. It's supposed to be a chunk of catches for Diggs and 2-4 catches for everyone else. Spread the ball evenly around to 4-5 other guys. And that's fine. It works. However, games like last night where it's pretty much Diggs or no one hamper the offense IMO.
  6. This offense is set up to flow through Allen and Diggs. That's it. WR2, WR3 the RBs... afterthoughts fighting for scraps. The TEs are non-existent. Maybe if we had a RT that didn't need constant hand holding it could result in our TEs being more than outlet throws. Week in and week out we see on the All 22 guys are open just to see Allen constantly push the ball to Diggs. Just last night Allen had Cook WIDE open in the middle of the field and took a scramble run instead. This offense doesn't need more guys running around watching Diggs catch passes. They need to use what they have
  7. You don't lose a game at the end of the first half. They get that 3 and the game may have played out different. Decisions made from that point on wouldn't be exactly the same. And yup, obvious PI on the last play. As well as obvious hands to the face on Waller. You wanna bring it up...bring the entire play up.
  8. I can tell you first hand it's much easier to keep a team focused and working hard after a win like last night than after a win like we had against the Dolphins.
  9. Gabe Davis has caught 70% of the balls thrown to him this year. (21 catches on 30 targets). Most of his catches have been for 1st down or TDs. He's having the most efficient season of his career by FAR.
  10. That game is a head coaches dream come true. You get the win AND you get to keep the tone that improvement is needed and they need to still work hard and not be satisfied.
  11. Every year we see teams like the Chiefs win one or two of these ugly games a year. The Patriots would win these games as well. Yes, it was ugly and we looked awful. But they gutted out a tough game and it goes in the win column. That's literally all that matters.
  12. Yes, it was a DPI. It was also illegal hands to the face on Waller. Both were grabbing and pushing the whole way through.
  13. Could argue it should have been offsetting penalty
  14. Diggs. Diggs gets a game ball. 52 other players and the entire Coaching staff get nothing.
  15. What's a bigger shock than our Offensive output tonight... Collinsworthless hasn't mentioned Mahomes once that I've heard.
  16. Dalton Kincaid is somewhere right now saying "THAT WAS MY TD, YOU FARGIN ICEHOLE!!!"
