[Vague Title]Take this for what it's worth.
BeginnersMind replied to njbuff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You don’t don’t build a team trading away tons of top picks. No. Bills have a ve a lot of holes. -
Why spend so much energy being this mean? Don't like his play? Come chat with fellow fans who agree with you (like me--I am also not pleased with Tolbert and don't know why he's on the team). But it's a dick move to do this and try to make sure everyone including Tolbert and his teammates sees it. How does that make him feel? Before you start the queue of people chiming in with "Call the Wahmbulance," I'm just saying we can be better than this.

We need more trolling here.

The monkey thought it was all in good fun?

It's almost like you're saying he's a fake.

You're in the Styx. Moving a bit closer to the population center will reveal more, well, population.

ESPN predicts Alex Smith as starting Bills QB in 2018.
BeginnersMind replied to PIZ's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I see Smith or Bradford as the likely starters next year with a draft pick as backup. -
I fly the flag while they are still in contention (the entire season this year!!!) in PHilly. Tons of Bills fans here in Philadelphia and South Jersey and people always give a "Go Bills" when they see me out in gear. When a team is this bad for this long, everyone loves them at some level.

So if we end up 9-7 and lose a tie-breaker...

The JEts game was the only game all year where I thought the team really didn't come to play. Saints, Chargers, and Pats werre all just meeting with teams that were better. But to get manhandled by the Jets was terrible. -

Exactly. Good teams win with good picks and a stable organization. Teams that pine away for top picks and tank don't win in the NFL. "Tank to win" 100% works in the NBA where the top picks almost always work out and are instant studs. In the NFL, the draft is far harder to predict. Good teams build a system that works and plug in the best players they know how within the salary cap. NE and Pitt never break the bank and never tank. Other consistent teams like the Eagles, Chiefs, Ravens, Seahawks, Chargers follow suit. For sure and 100%: QB matters and the Bills MUST find that QB. But picking 13 vs. picking 22 won't help. The top 2 are the studs. Everyone after that is a crapshoot. Jimmy Garapolo: 2nd round pick from a top organization. Alex Smith was half a bust until he got to KC, where better coaching made him pretty good (not great). -

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread

There’s a scenario where that’s possible but it ain’t happening. 9-7 and not making it is entirely possible. -
I mentioned it above but the camera crew was bad as well. And the graphic tags of Landry were bad when there was one tag roughly aligned over 3 WRs in the bunch formation. And the time they tagged all 5 WRs as Landry was worse. She was working with the Keystone Cops of CBS. Even with all that, who cares? The announcers just escort you through the game. Occasionally one of them is so good that I enjoy it. Rarely do they make any difference in my level of enjoyment. People are here to complain because she was a woman. Plain and simple. Was she great? No. Was she adequate. Of course.

Where is the 15 page thread dedicated to Jay Feely? Who kept referring to a Bills zone blocking scheme that the Bills haven't run in the last 6 weeks. People are on her because she's a woman. Announcers screw up all the time. Hers were about par for the course for the C level announcers, which is exactly what she and her team were.

Playoffs? Playoffs?? The Playoff Chances Thread

The Jags will be likely playing to win vs. Titans last game of the season. Sure the Steelers play the Browns in week 17 but the Jags win the head to head tiebreaker with the Steelers. Marrone won't be resting any starters unless Steelers win (Texans) and Jax loses (Niners) this week. So this weekend, root for the Jags to beat the Niners. That will make Jax's week 17 meaningful vs Titans. That's a big one for the Bills. -
That's a sad statement. My 16 year old huge football fan daughter noted it and I told her she was the first woman in 30 years to call an NFL game. She couldn't believe it and when she asked why, I provided only the answer that many men are sexist, and will hide it in "shrill" voice and other things they don't say about men. They will pick up on her errors--the same ones men make--and magnify them. It's always hard to break the ceiling. Today, I'll link my daughter to this thread. She was fine. I didn't notice anything out of the ordinary. Announcers all sort of flow one into the next. She made a few errors. Twice I heard McCoy for Taylor. Usually there's not a 16 page thread about it, except that she's a woman. There definitely don't need to be only men doing games. It doesn't take a man to do play-by-play. What grated on me was how awful the "Landry" tags were. They kept putting it on screen over about 8 guys. One time they actually put 5 Landry tags on the screen at the same time. Not once was it a helpful tag. Maybe we can blame that on the Mowins too. Or the camera work when Taylor threw to DiMarco at the five? Mowins clearly did an admirable job despite being surrounded by the "C" team.

So, 4-12 predictors...how's that working out?

Sam Bradford To The Bills..? Puke
BeginnersMind replied to corta765's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Peterman, the 5th round pick? Or some other Peterman? Any faith in him is not based in the reality of any performance that mattered. Not saying he’s a bust but that kid does not have a roster spot set aside for himself in 2018. Like Bradford as placeholder or backup for young draft pick.
