He already had to be on the list...but it will take a trade. His numbers in the last two half seasons he played would have put him on track for 4000 yards, but a lot of INTs. Still, I'd take him over any of the MN QBs or Smith. (Fireworks, sirens, general widespread joy outside in Philly on this warm night. Fun!)

Jackson, Rudolph or Pass
BeginnersMind replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Draft 5 starters this year or 4 and a project QB they are comfortable with. I hope they don’t trade away picks. -
Anyone doing the Tide Pod challenge?

No need to be so limiting. -
Jackson, Rudolph or Pass
BeginnersMind replied to Kirby Jackson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If they can't get Cousins, they should grab a journeyman. So many teams are going for QBs this year that the value of the 4th to 7th best draft QBs will be insanely overrated. The Bills have a lot of other holes to fill. ILB, DE, RG, RT, OLB, backup RB, C...certainly none bigger than QB, but use the picks this year to fill the holes. Don't trade them away to pick a guy with multiple question marks. The nice thing about the journeyman vets is that you know what you get. Alex Smith: Known quantity. Sam Bradford: Known quantity. I don't want to delay the QB search another year either but with 12 teams looking for a new starting QB, this is a bad time to be looking. Next year will be better as most teams will have made their move and overpaid this year. -
Tell us when you buy your next purchase and roughly how much. No privacy issue. If you’re worried about bragging just lock in the date and price when you purchased. Everyone is rich on the Internet just like everyone never loses in investments or in casinos. I once talked up an investment before before it went up 160x in a year. My talk made me nothing. Maybe. I doubt it but if it’s so, so be it. I am happy to make money. Let et us know the day you make your next purchase. Maybe. I doubt it but if it’s so, so be it. I am happy to make money. Let et us know the day you make your next purchase. You guys are a lot lot more active in this thread when Bitcoin has a good day! Welcome back.

Orton three for 3000 yards in 12 games that one season. Somehow he was hated by many but he could sling a ball. I didn’t hate him.

I haven’t seen anyone post details of their contemporaneous purchase or sale. Lots of claims about past moves only. So he is as credible as anyone. Internet board money can buy anything.

Not burst yet. 100,000 by the end of the year.

When the Bills were good and those Pats teams were awful, I bore them no ill will. IT was all about the Dolphins. Brady and Belicheck changed all that. I want Dareus to flop onto Brady 3-4 times. Seriously. The only reason I have some interest in seeing the Pats win the SB is that maybe that's the moment Belicheck resigns. Brady clearly wants to keep playing. He has more voodoo to sell.

Bradford will be the Available Viking QB
BeginnersMind replied to 1st Ammendment NoMas's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Last knee injury was 4 years ago. Bradford is a high quality QB when healthy. I like him to hold the fort while a younger guy learns the ropes. IF he gets injured, the young guy steps up. If not, you have a 4000 yard passer for half what it costs to get Cousins. Same. He's going to come at a bargain price and he's a top passer. This year's Bills are 11-5 or even 12-4 with him as QB. He has had two bad knee injuries. That could happen again but those are lower likelihood injuries. I would want that if I was a MIN fan. Keenum is a hot hand but Bradford is a way better QB. -
Audibles? Not every QB does them.
BeginnersMind replied to Foreigner's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have always loved (and HATED) how fast Brady is to the line with that sneak when it's close. He is ALWAYS right there snapping as the ref winds his arm and ALWAYS gets the first down. I can't recall him ever getting stuffed when he does that. That doesn't seem hard and yet no one else does it. -
Bills 2018 cap space projection
BeginnersMind replied to Buffalo_Stampede's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wood is not the player most think he is. Leader, no doubt. But as a player, he's not special. McD has his hands cuffed to make a change that needs to be made. Yes. I see this as the shoring up season. Don't lose the progress from this year and more or less build chemistry in 2018. I'd judge 9-7 with more consistency as a good year. This year the 9-7 feels a bit like smoke and mirrors. I like that they made it but this was not a great team. 2019 is a year where the Bills can use all the cap space to sign 1-2 marquee missing pieces and set up for a several year run at the playoffs. -
Best basketball player of all time
BeginnersMind replied to Buffalo716's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Magic had perhaps the greatest center in history, one of the best scoring forwards of his era and one of the best 3 point shooters of his era. He was flat out awesome but I don't see him in the same league with the all time greats. He's a level below Jordan, Wilt, James. -
Here are the unrestricted free agents. A better list to analyze. Jordan Matthews - let go Deonte Thompson - let go Shareece Wright - let go Leonard Johnson - keep at low price Shamarko Thomas - let go E.J. Gaines - keep Mike Tolbert - keep if you want to melt this board Travaris Cadet - keep him or Jones as 3rd back Taiwan Jones- keep him or Cadet as 3rd back Cedric Thornton - let go Joe Webb - keep Kyle Williams - keep if he will play Preston Brown - let go (leading NFL tackler who I don't remember making a play at his position all year) Seantrel Henderson - tough one...coaches will know better if he's worth it Ramon Humber - let go Brandon Tate - let go

Alex Smith, assessment from a KC fan
BeginnersMind replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm fine if they sign Smith but keep in mind Smith had: - one of the best WRs in the league - the best TE in the league - one of the best RBs in the league - one of the best offensive game planners coaching him - a pass first offense In Buffalo, Smith will have - a decent #1 WR if they resign KB (I assume they will let Matthews go) - a decent TE - a great RB - a journeyman OC Smith will be an upgrade over Taylor for sure. Worth a 4th rounder. Maybe a third but not more than that. Interesting article on recent QB trades here. Looking at history, probably will need a second to make the deal happen. Not sure if that's worth it. -
People bemoaned the loss of Cardale Jones. If it walks like a duck...
-
That's my biggest concern. HE sees the right pass but cannot hit it in the NFL. Not the first guy to find out his arm doesn't convert. The floating balls over the middle are bad too but those can be fixed. He proved to be a bad backup. Doesn't mean you cut him this off-season but he enters camp next year fighting for a roster spot. If the Bills sign two QBs, which they almost certainly will, Peterman is unlikely to return. Happy to be wrong on Peterman but you as recently as a 2015 article I found, 20 out of 32 starting QBs in the NFL were qb picks 1-3. Not ROUNDS 1-3, qb picks 1-3. Top QB talent matters. Can the experts be wrong? Sure. But it is the exception not the norm.

If I am McD/Beane what Shady says makes a big diff...
BeginnersMind replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don’t think you understood what I was saying. His value is not a first round pick. Not now. Not ever. He’s a decent QB who is old. No GM is giving up a first for him. I would be ok if the Bills had him. But Smith this season was in a pass happy offense with a great offensive mind coaching him, had the best TE in football, one of the best wide receivers, one of the best backs. He was set up to look good and he was no better than that. Even a third is a stretch. -

BeginnersMind replied to KingRex's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
No chance. 3rd at best. -
Right you are. Bring back Whaley! Beane has something to prove of course. But this team is better right now for 2018 than they were before he joined. His picks and this off-season will show a lot.
-
Watkins for Gaines. Big win. Benjamin. Jury is out a little but that should be good with a good QB and a fixed knee. First and second round extra picks. Tre White. Matt Milano. Dareus disaster contract gone. Micah Hyde. Jordan Poyer. Beane maybe missed on Jones. Maybe also Matthews. But other than that, pretty good year 1.
-
Discipline. Penalties way down. Preparation. Fundamentally sound team usually prepared for game. These are huge plusses as well. McD's in game decisions with timeouts need work but that can be learned or just outsourced.

A Few Thoughts About the Jags Game
BeginnersMind replied to Virgil's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Lots of journeymen QBs available this year. Combine one of them with a youngster. Will generate more offense.
