Bills @ Bears 2nd Half Thread

3 bubble guys (who were prob on the good side of the bubble already) made the team tonight. Logan Thomas, Adolphus Washington, and Ray Ray. -

Think of it as a TD and it feels better. It was a pretty excellent throw in stride for the score. -

Yeah, he took the dreck talent he had last year to the playoffs...but he sucks because his dreck team of guys that will get cut are losing the Bears dreck team of guys who will get cut. The Bills won't be great this year, but I'm not concerned about this game even a little. -

You do realize that no starters started, and after the second series, you've been watching the bottom 40 guys. Maybe 10 people who played tonight make the team. Maybe. -

My guess is more AJ. He's a dead man walking. They might put Allen in just for reps. But it's safe to assume that whoever plays in the second half between Peterman and Allen is the #2 QB week 1. The starter will not play tonight. -

The guy couldn't beat out Nate Peterman. I think that says about everything I need to know about McCarron. -

I don't disagree, but did you see a starter out there tonight at any position? Tonight didn't reveal anything about this team, except that by leaving AJ in for so long, he's not making the team. -

Sources say China hacked Clinton's home server daily
BeginnersMind replied to dpberr's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I'm thinking also about the way he talks, not just the tweets. He believes pretty much everything he says--in the moment. Bob Woodward's book is going to be a treat. I don't expect any surprises, but I bet he has some great stories. Trump's more sane staffers must be going mental. -
We are the big guy so we can tear up the deals we signed that are already in place. I get that. It's about more than style, but it certainly will get us better deals now.
-
True. He's done some good things for sure--I would not deny it. Kavanaugh is a good pick as well. But that doesn't mean he's not worthy of critique in other areas.
-
Trump is doing much better than others getting the US improved trade deals. But tearing up one deal and demanding a new one sets a tough precedent for the future moment when someone does it to us. I am also watching other agreements that matter outside economic, and I wonder whether we will see a spirit of continued cooperation. I am optimistic that we can overcome the lack of diplomacy and tearing up deals, but it's something to watch.

I don't think people lie for the sake of it. (Hillary, however, may not fall into that category.) Hell, I even think Trump believes what he says is true in most moments, even when it's clearly not. Developing story. -

BeginnersMind replied to dpberr's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Agreed. There's been little definitive reporting on this yet, but it's just way too easy to believe her server was hacked due to her arrogance in keeping it. %^&# her. The FBI guy is probably telling his truth, as far as he knows it. I'd call this story "developing." -
We are revisiting some bad deals and as Tom said above, it sure would be nice if they can get these ratified. Hopefully our less diplomatic negotiating bully-style doesn't bite us in some future agreement. The big deal will be the China one. When that deal comes, and it will, it will have a major impact. These other deals are chump change by comparison.

What areas of the team has Beane actually improved?
BeginnersMind replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Beane got a roster with a ton of salary mess and gigantic holes at: QB (no one decent) WR (Watkins?! the big name) LB (no one) DL (almost retired Williams who is great but nearly out, lazy massively overpaid Dareus) DB (Gilmore who was at best only "good") Then, two pro bowl O-lineman retire in one off-season...and Beane has no budget to fix all the holes because they are still paying off the bloat left from Whaley. I can't blame this mess on Beane. Whaley was kicking problems down the road, and Beane got them. He's setting the team up for +3 years but it's going to take time to overcome the dreck Whaley left behind. I don't know if he's making the right moves but we need to give him time. We are going to see journeymen like Star and Murphy while he tries to build something better. But I expect a couple 6 win seasons. -
Why the hell didn't we address the OLINE?
BeginnersMind replied to Klaista2k's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
In response to the topic title "Why the hell didn't we address the O-Line?" First, consider the cap situation this year. It's terrible for the Bills, who are still paying a lot of dead cap space. It gets better next year. Second, last year and this, the Bills need: QB, at least a couple if not 3 LB positions, all DL positions, backup RB, WRs, P, and then ... 2 pro bowl O-linemen retire. You can't fix the train wreck Whaley left behind in a year. They upgraded the LB some. They have a QB to groom. They tried to fix DL with limited cap hit with Star and Murphy. They got a decent RB. The WRs and OL got the least attention, not because they don't matter, but because there's only so much you can do. This rebuild of the dreck left behind by Whaley is going to take 3-4 years and in those years, we're going to see a lot of Star and Murphy types in and out as the Bills try to manage the cap. -

This is one of those "walks like a duck" -sounding stories. I'll take it with a grain of salt (especially when you see some of the out of context quotes and other leaps in the story as written...the usual Daily Beast stuff) but it's not hard to find it true, is it? You say that, but in the higher rated reality show, it is. -

Mitt had bad timing. It should have been his show but he ran into a stellar politician in Obama. -
