Bills Training Camp: Day 4 - 7/28
BeginnersMind replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thurman was "slow" too. He was not the kind of guy to reverse field and break for 40 yards. If you have a good line and a back who's shifty and has some vision, never hate a guy who can regularly pick up 7-10 yards. I don't know if that's Singletary but that's all anyone needs. Not everyone is Sequon Barkley, who I'd say is the currently most talented back in the NFL. The thing I'm happy to hear is how he's apparently a willing and decent blocker. -
Refugee Crisis in the U. S. (?)

Never heard of a Japantown or Little Tokyo but I wish such a thing was nearby. -

As long as you don’t post about it online, it’s not that bad. -

Some Trump protestors and drunk soccer fans are your picture of immigrants? That’s like someone painting all Republicans as racist because of a pro Trump Klan rally or racist comments on Twitter from Trump supporters. (You’ll note how no one here, not even Tibs, floods the board with the many examples of this that are out there...when such examples survive the Twitter filter. But most posters here revel in posting stupid stuff the low level lefties post. What does that create? Division. Anger. And illusion.) Both broad brushes ignore a much better and less vocal majority. We average over a million new legal immigrants per year. Those people worked hard to get here, went the legal route, and do not want to go back to India, China, Mexico, Honduras, the Philippines, Spain, Turkey, Somalia. They are in many ways more patriotic than you and me who are only here because we drew the human lottery ticket to be born here, which was 0.000000000% in our control. You did no no work to be a citizen. Me either. I admire legal immigrants. Each generation of them has changed the country. This one will too. Maybe we will appreciate the work ethic or social and family structure they bring. Or maybe just simply the food and appreciation for America. -
Heck with Clowney. The situation I am watching is Jags

If I was a Fins offensive player I’d rather go 6-10 with Fitz than 4-12 with Rosen. That will infuriate the fans and make the coach and GM mental. Glad it’s not our issue. Barkley is an ideal backup. -

Yes, absolutely. They come here for a reason, and the reason is that here things are better, whatever the things are that they left behind. -
I survived Howard County Maryland.

How is this anti US spin? A Mexican soldier psuedo doing his job is anti American propaganda? Agenda much? -

Memethink. I know many immigrants. None want to make America like their home countries but many do appreciate living among and visiting pockets of people living in the US (we call them neighborhoods) who share their heritage. -

The premise of the Reuter’s article that goes with the photo and Tweet is that the Mexican troops are stopping border crossings. And by the way, she then just ran around him. Or ... didn’t you read the article? -
Cable TV Versus Everything Else
BeginnersMind replied to Formerly Allan in MD's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I unplugged a while ago and watch TV on Hulu. The only channel I don’t get that is related to sports is the NFL Network. And if I had a different streaming service, I’d have that too. $45/month. And I don’t watch on my computer (though I can if I want to). I watch on my TV. If you like your cable, that’s great, but there isn’t an appreciable difference between plugged and unplugged anymore except that one costs less. -
Bills Training Camp: Day 3 - 7/27
BeginnersMind replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The traditional thinking is the offense is way behind the defense early in training camp because offense is predicated on timing for many moving parts and it takes time together to establish that. If that is true, the offense is going to be a helluva lot better this year. -

Totally this. I hate the hamstring and groin injuries. They are so damn hard to fully shake without just full rest. Two TEs with hamstrings and one already out on significant time sucks. -

Saw some guy say Fitzgibbons is a 20 sided die with only 1s and 20s. Rosen does not scare me. I would not want FitzGerald as backup QB to my young QB. Clearly the team will like Fitz more. He’s the best. -
Biden is currently under attack for being not liberal enough. Trump was under attack for having no principles during the primary until he showed he became the nominee and then Reps overlooked all his previous “positions” (quotes because he doesn’t have many bedrock principles). These counter examples not to say you’re100% wrong but that there’s no rule here.

Bills Training Camp Day 2 - 7/26
BeginnersMind replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I’m not going to worry about a rookie DL not playing in pads on day 2 of camp...based on a single report, which by the way is not a “lotta talk.”
